Remember this conversation Denis Whiteside @deniswhiteside ? Cutting into the board referring to my sculpture practice. It’s only recently I’ve felt confident in doing this because of these new Japanese saws.

Went for the €15 one when I should of gone for the €47

That’s the frames glued. Break time, then back this evening to glue the plywood to them. Tomorrow I’ll be able to get my router out for a nice clean edge. It’s warm. Everything is drying fast today 😁

I’ll never grow out of this, lugging 5m lengths of wood from the wood merchants to a gallery or studio space to build installation rooms for video and stretchers. Thankfully it’s about the same distance as Axfords is to the studio in Bolton

It doesn’t look like much but I’ve had a good day at the office.

Need 20m more of 2b1 to cut then a good studio clean before a mega gluing and clamping sesh.

30 30x30 that are going to give me good run at developing new ideas with paint starting where I left off in the UK

3 60x60 that I’ll take the most interesting ideas that will starting points for new developments

neo: took so much of my time back in Bolton. No regrets as I learned so much about organising arty stuff, but it meant that I forfeited my own practice.

However, I came to Greece to reconnect and today I’m back on painting a series of works on board. I’ll start by repeating works where I left off in 2017 as it seems the most logical way to get back my train of thought.

I love abstract painting and the painters here have told me it’s a hard sell so I’ll also be testing the water

“There’s no such thing as talent, people have an aptitude to do things. If you want to be an artist from this point onwards, it’s f**king hard work”

I worked on farms doing seasonal work around Europe for 6 years in my 20’s. I knew what hard work meant #WorkEthic
