          “it’s fine,” ethel responds, lips pursed thinly. she’s been wandering the deck alone for a bit, enjoying the view in silence and away from the company of those she’d come with. still, she supposes some other company wouldn’t be awful — though she quickly questions the wisdom of engaging in conversation with someone so… giddy. “you look,” she pauses, trying to find a gentle word for it, “excited.”

a hue of red spread throughout jasper's cheeks as they burned from embarrassment. as a small child, his grandfather would often scold him for being 'inept' and his sister always used the adjective 'gawky' to describe her brother any time his name was brought up in a conversation. he shakes his head, as though to rid himself of the memories and soothe his spirits. " well, i've never been on a boat before, " he admits. " so, i suppose i am a bit excitable right now. "

 maggie huffed in annoyance as she was nearly keeled over by the bumbling boy. “well then, next time look,” she scolded, smoothing the skirts that had barely been ruffled. she tried to subtly crane her neck to see what he’d been so immersed in, but could see only the green-blue hue of the ocean. “what was so important that you nearly knocked me over?” she asked, unable to quell her curiosity. there was a bite to the words as they left her mouth. 

as he was chastised, jasper's grin turned into thin-lipped displeasure. " i'm sorry. honestly, i am, " jasper would never tire of telling other's about his sister, or his grandfather. he spoke of them fondly as often as he possibly could. but, he could tell by the tone of the young woman's voice that she wouldn't appreciate a long story. not at this very moment, at least. " i was lost in my thoughts, that's all. thinking about my family. it won't happen again, i assure you. " he replied with a blasé wave of his hand, deciding that a simple explanation was best.

jasper was looking forward to his time on the ship, hopeful that he would make a friend or two, but as he sat and thought about what was to come once he arrived in america – he was going to watch as his sister married the love of her life, and he was going to explore a corner of the world he had never seen before – he couldn't stop the grin that quickly spread from ear-to-ear. as he turned to look at the view, he nearly knocked into the person standing next to him. “ i’m so sorry. i didn’t see you there ! “

hello there !! i'm horrible at introductions so i'm gonna keep this one short & sweet: my name is megan, but you can call me meg. i'm twenty ( or, i will be on the 8th ), & i live in ohio ( est ) which is possibly the most boring state in the country ?? now, let's talk about jas a little bit..

is that ( HENRIK HOLM ) ? good grief, no… that’s just ( JASPER ANDERSEN ) the ( TWENTY-ONE ) year old ( PHOTOGRAPHER ) from ( SECOND CLASS ). i’ve heard the stewards gossiping and they say he is ( CLUMSY ) & ( MERCURIAL ) but thankfully also ( SIMPATICO ) & ( MAGNANIMOUS ). i also heard he is on board because ( HIS SISTER IS GETTING MARRIED IN AMERICA ).

i'll b writing up jasper's biography asap !! for now, here's a few details – he can be a bit merciless if you cross him. but, ninety-five percent of the time, he's a gentle soul & wants to befriend everyone!! he's been into photography since he was a lil boy. he was raised by his grandpa, who was a photographer, & jas always wanted to be just like the man who raised him. now, don't hesitate to hmu if you'd like to plot or just chat for a bit ! xoxo
