"You see, I'm dealing with my own set of problems, but I could be convinced to give William his soul back," Caleb drawled, leaning against the piano. "Go to the woods and bring me back: the cow as white as milk, the cape as red as blood, the hair as yellow as corn, and the slipper as pure as gold."

"That sounds oddly specific," Willie mumbled in Alex's ear.

"Bring me these in three days time, and I guarantee Willie's freedom."

↳ Day Six of FFM Week • Fairytale Insp. @jatp-ffm-week

Summary: They never warn you about ghosts in fairytales. It's always witches, or frogs, or wolves. Never ghosts though. So really, Julie could not possibly be blamed for accidentally kissing one.

Notes: It's late but it's still day six!!! Here, anyway. So I was having some trouble with today's fic, and I just scrapped everything I had ready and started from scratch, which I think was for the better, but phew, this was stressful. Anyways, thank you so much @felicitysmoaksx and @thedeathdeelers for looking this over for me very last minute, you guys are amazing! And thank you so much @angelofarts for helping me brainstorm this! As of right now, this is a one shot, however, I do plan on making it a multi chapter fic, I just need to figure out other details first.

Music was blasting through the speakers. Julie could feel the beats in her chest, pulsating like blood through her veins. It wasn't the same kind of music she easily associated with her mom, so it didn't hurt as much. In fact, it only made it easier for her to get lost in it.

The party was in full swing, bodies dancing and bumping into each other. Usually, Julie wouldn't feel comfortable being in the middle of so many inhibited people, but she'd had a bad day, and a distraction was exactly what she needed. If only Carrie's dress wasn't so… short.

Julie loved Halloween; she always had. She loved picking out a costume and sometimes matching with her friends. When she was younger, the costumes and the candy was what it was all about. Once she grew up, it became about anonymity. There was something addicting about pretending to be someone else, if only for a night.

At the beginning of the night, Julie had been dressed as Moana. She'd spent months looking for the right fabric and knitting everything herself; making sure all the details were as accurate as they could be. It certainly helped with keeping her mind away from the deadline Professor Lessa had given her in all of her Vocal Performances classes. But then some drunk idiot decided to crash against her and spill red punch all over her white and yellow skirt, not to mention her bare stomach and legs.

Julie had been ready to call it a night and crawl back home to gorge herself on ice cream, but Carrie refused to let her go. Instead, she'd dragged her further into the sorority party until they made it to her very pink room.

For @jatp-ffm-week - Fairytale Inspired Day! I present to you the concept for an A Cinderella Story AU (Juke centric, of course!) Mood board is also by me! (It’s my first one, so please be gentle!) And now presenting, the summary:

Julie is just trying to get by in life after her mother dies tragically… While her life was once filled with music and laughter, now it’s just school and work. She hopes an academic scholarship to her top choice school will help her get away and move on. She tries to stay invisible, under the radar… but working at the local diner doesn’t really help with that all too much. Especially when it’s the hangout for all the popular people.

Luke is the frontman for the local soon-to-make-it-big band, Sunset Curve. He’s got groupies hanging all over him all day, just wanting a shot to date him. But all Luke wants is a connection. Someone who understands music and the way it speaks to people just like he does.

When their school hosts a masquerade ball, Luke and Julie end up being paired off - after all, they did show up as Cinderella and Prince Charming.

But after the ball is over, Luke has no idea who his Cinderella is… Can he figure out who she is and reconnect with her?

Meanwhile, Julie knows her Prince Charming is Luke, but she’s too scared to come forward and tell him, despite her best friend Flynn urging her to do just that.

Will they find their way back to each other? Or will it be happily never after?

Juke Anastasia AU

10 years ago the Czar and his family were overthrown by a coup led by Caleb Covington. The royal family were all declared dead, except for the young grand duchess, Julianna, whose body was never found. When rumors start that the missing princess may still be alive, Luke, a street urchin, comes up with a plan to finally get him and his friends out from under Caleb’s oppressive control. Upon hearing that the Grand Duchess Victoria is offering 10 million rubles for the safe return of her niece, Luke and his friends plan to find a Julianna look-alike to bring to Paris in exchange for the reward. While searching they come across Julie, an 18 year old orphan amnesiac. Julie claims she hardly remembers her life before the orphanage, but that she feels a calling to go to Paris after having dreams of the city her whole life, despite never going there. Hearing this and seeing the resemblance Julie bears to the grand duchess, Luke convinces her that she may really be the missing grand duchess and that she should travel with him and his friends to Paris. Unbeknownst to them though, Caleb has also heard the rumors and plans to follow them to Paris to finish what he started 10 years before.

Posting this a little early because I’m so excited for it, but here’s my creation for day 7 of @jatp-ffm-week, Free Choice! I wasn’t quite sure if this qualified as a Fairytale AU so I figured I’d put it under free choice. Got the idea while listening to Nothing to Lose because it reminded me of Dmitry’s song Everything to Win in the musical. So far it’s just a moodboard and synopsis, but maybe eventually a fic? I’d have to hammer out all the cultural details first.

After a plague hits the world and you’re facing the actual zombie apocalypse, you’d think your ability to be surprised would vanish. And yet Julie is about to meet the one zombie who will change her perception of… everything.

AKA I decided Romeo and Juliet definitely counts for this day. The Warm Bodies AU that lives in my head rent free, coming to AO3 in the (probably distant) future!

This may be my last entry for JATP Fantasy, Fairytale & Mythology week. The awesome prompt for today is Fairytale inspired.

Which brings me to today’s fic which can be found here on ao3. It’s technically based on Red Riding Hood but, well, it goes a bit… sideways, to say the least.

We’ve all heard of the story of Little Red Riding Hood. This is not that story.

No, this is a story in which a little boy goes into the forest and his sister waits for hours, but he doesn’t come back. So the sister gathers her red cloak and with courage woven into her steel spine, she enters the forest, unaware of just who else is there.

(In which there are some lost musicians, some shapeshifting wolves, and a witch or three.)

Julie Molina grew up surrounded by love and magic, flowers that bloomed on even the coldest winter days, and music notes that poured from her finger tips without even trying.

All her life, there was only one rule drilled into her head. One thing she absolutely had to remember: don’t go playing in the dark. You won’t like what you find, and what you lose could be far more precious. So even though the shadows beckoned, Julie stayed away.

Until her mother died and Julie’s left without the chance to say goodbye. Suddenly the dark didn’t seem so scary, staying away didn’t seem as important. So Julie decided to summon her mom, just long enough to say goodbye, to get closure.

But the universe had other plans, and what started as calling her moms spirit, ended with three ghosts on the floor of her studio, her mom nowhere to be seen, and Julie’s problems just beginning. Because summoning the boys unlocked something in Julie. Something that had been sleeping for the last sixteen years. Something that won’t be pushed back down again. Something that Julie will need in the coming weeks, because the world is a lot bigger than she ever realized, and a whole hell of a lot more dangerous.

This is for day 5 of @jatp-ffm-week, fantasy inspired day. I can’t believe this is the first fic I’ve gotten up for it. I had a list of like four I was planning to do and I’ve done exactly none of them 😅, anyways have some necormancer-ish!Julie

Now, Willie must protect Alex from every foe that comes their way on the off chance that the prince will unite the land and restore magic’s place in Camelot— all while knowing that one wrong move could end up with him being burned at the stake.

You Drive Me Crazy, Mothman

Summary: When Reggie decided he wanted to be a lepidopterist (by day, of course he's still a rock star by night), he expected lots of late nights photographing moths in the woods. He did not expect to befriend the famed Mothman haunting the woods outside Los Angeles. He also didn't expect Mothman to actually be a startlingly gorgeous human, and he definitely didn't expect that human to need rescuing from a curse bestowed upon them by a demon.

But hey, that's life, right?

It’s officially day… 5? It’s the 30th, that’s what matters here. And that makes it Fantasy Inspired day for the Fantasy, Fairytale & Mythology week. That means urban fantasy!! So, naturally, I fell into writing something for my series how rare and beautiful it truly is that we exist. While it’d probably be useful to know the series and get some of the context behind the guys in this, you might be able to get away with reading it as a standalone.

Juke + Harry Potter Convention AU

Moodboard and summary for a hypothetical fic I haven't actually written for @jatp-ffm-week, Fantasy Inspired Day

Julie Molina, voice major and Harry Potter super fan, has only two rules she never breaks. Never perform without warming up and never date a Hufflepuff. The first is to preserve her instrument and the second...well...let's just say after her bad experience with "he's a sweetheart" Nick, she's sworn off the whole house and their deceptively laid back ways. When Julie convinces Flynn to go with her to a Harry Potter convention halfway across the country she expects to have a nerdy good time. She doesn't expect to be pulled up on stage during a Wizard Rock show and find herself breaking her first rule. To make matters worse, as soon as she feels the crackling chemistry between her and Luke Patterson, lead singer of a wildly popular Wrock band and oh yeah, proud Hufflepuff...she knows she's in danger of breaking her second rule too.
