SOM Headcanons for Pipers!! These aren't really canon, based on very loose canon (small quotes that really don't mean anything) But I like humanoids for one, and for two I wanna experiment with more colors and stuff, plus these just make whenever i draw them more fun!

Also idk what to call the feathered versions of Pipers so that's just a placeholder name. The markings page is significantly more lazy then the other one btw so LOL

I always am thinking about how Quarastus almost got his hands on Patch and literally the only reason he couldn’t be bothered was because Patch was too good hearted. Patch having no idea of these kinds of things transpiring in the shadows either is so sinister and ominous to me and really solidified Quarastus’ status as the puppetmaster.

Another parallel between them that I only recently noticed:

In the first book, in the scene where Patch was arguing with Wren because he found out she wasn’t rich or whatever, Patch calms down eventually and said something about how “friends don’t keep secrets from each other, isn’t that what you said?”…in the third book, in one of the conversations between the Hamelyn Piper and Wren, Piper tells her that he could simply do something and make “all her secrets spill”. Even if it was an unintentional callback, I think, it’s still very much a true parallel between them especially when considering the difference in their dynamics. Also!! When Patch wears the iron mask in the first book that was meant for the H.Piper. Spooky.

[Also the fact that the title “the Piper of Hamelyn” can refer to either Patch himself or the Piper 🤔 I read your initial theories on how Piper could be Patch’s father and while we know now that it’s not true, in some literary sense Piper’s engineered plans was what led to him being killed, being “the father of his own death”. This guy is completely hopeless./lh]

I love Tobias and Alia’s relationship throughout the books ^^ I think your Hc might be accurate lol because he seems to have softened up afterwards!! And you’re totally right, Patch tends to hurt and he’s genuinely filled with so much rage and conflict at his age X( and how Erner has his own burdens to shoulder but still tries to be a good role model to him…the both of them are really well written. I really enjoy seeing your interpretation of his character through your art ^^
