Back when I had my seizure a friend who was basically staying on my couch had to drive me to appointments and stuff. I found other means for numerous other things I had to go to but for my EEG basically the only option was for her to drive me, and she was okay with that (I didn’t like force her I wanna be clear).

Now, this girl HAD DRIVEN BEFORE. She had a license but basically never used it. I’ve never almost-crashed so many times, especially in such a short drive.

She would get decision paralysis and not know what to do in various situations that people who drive regularly would “easily” navigate. This would result in us almost crashing or being crashed into.

She also was incredibly BAD at driving (speed, stopping, turning, as examples), even when nothing was going on around her. These also resulted in us almost hitting things numerous times.

Many of these near crashes were only avoided because I would calmly tell her what to do. It was a ridiculously stressful experience and I’m surprised I didn’t have another seizure due to the stress.

Just because one person doesn’t think it’s super scary doesn’t mean it’s not super scary! Let people not drive if they want!

Anybody think its HILARIOUS that Eddie (when Craig almost falls) goes to get Buck from saving Craig by putting his hands towards Buck but NOT towards C. It's very quick, but it happens for sure. I can't believe I had never seen it until now.

Gonosimulistic- it's a better scientific replacement for "hermaphrodite". Use it. It's better and more accurate, and the only bad part is that we haven't bothered to codify or list the derived forms.

For a while, I was resigned to using "hermaphrodite" because I'm a biologist, and we will always need some way to describe animals like slugs or clownfish that aren't gonochoric.

I have been enlightened. Thank you, @ders1tes for showing me a better path- my argument towards the use of "hermaphrodite" was never that it isn't a slur, it's that we needed something for animals in a scientific context, and "intersex" was firmly centred on humans or at most, gonochoric vertebrates.

Anyway:

Gonosimulistic: Adjective form. "Slugs are a textbook example of a gonosimulistic species."

Gonosimulist: Singular noun form. "This slug is a gonosimulist."

Gonosimulists: Plural noun form. "Many slugs are gonosimulists."

Sequential gonosimulist: A species that changes sexes over its lifespan.

Simultaneous gonosimulist: A species that produces both male and female gametes.

once again losing it over Raven Branwen specifically Raven Branwen in Lighting the Fire

the softness and affection in her voice when she first says Yang's name, letting her daughter see her as a person and actually speaking to her for the first time in her life...for exactly one (1) second

then the way she raises her voice and starts putting on a show for her people, one in which Yang herself is secondary to Raven's own image, where every word she says feels so scripted because she's clearly been fantasizing about this moment for years: a personal triumph where the prodigal daughter returns, strong and determined and perfect (and without an ounce of time or effort on her part to make her so, which is incredibly convenient for her), and most importantly ready to fall in line and be part of Raven's life on Raven's terms

...and then how severely thrown off and then quietly furious she is when Yang, being Yang, does NOT follow her script AT ALL, and wants about as much to do with Raven as Raven always had to do with her

today I used the phrase "breasting boobily" in casual real life conversation and everyone was shocked asking how I came up with that and I had to explain it. ive been at the devil's sacrament so long that I forgot he wasn't god

do y'all even know how much i hate being an "elder queer" at 40? a whole goddamn generation before me was wiped out by a plague that politicians deemed not their problem bc it was killing the "right" people. like. this was OPENLY STATED. i spent a large chunk of my childhood going to funerals. nevermind the fact that killing queer people for being queer wasn't codified into law as a hate crime until i was a junior in high school.

i should NOT be an elder queer, i should be middle at most. i am a middle aged queer. most of the elder queers died.

when i was growing up i didn't go to pride parades, i went to pride marches. because that's 100% what they were in the 80s and 90s.

from the absolute bottom of my heart, LEARN OUR FUCKING HISTORY. a generation was nearly wiped out so you young queers could be here. don't let that have been in vain, please.
