Ever since learning that Jay has proficiency in lockpicks (and associated tools) during the Tastrius episodes, I’m in love with the idea that Jay just… steals Chip’s lockpicks. When she feels like it. He goes to grab them to fiddle and they’re just gone because Jay decided to yoink them bc they’re tiny and good for whatever project she’s working on.

There have been several occasions where Chip went to grab them to do something (opening a can, poking at something stuck in a plughole, etc) and they’re not there because Jay has yoinked them (to poke at something that’s slightly moved in her contraption, to test something, to use as a screwdriver because she can’t find hers (she used it to hold her hair back)) and he is constantly having to go find her and get them back, often derailing whatever it was he was going to do until the next time be notices.

It is an eternal sibling fight between them of the classic “don’t touch my stuff.” Jay just points out that the ONE GODDAMN TIME since she’s known him that he tried to pick a lock, he fucking failed, so he’s probably better off giving them to her.

(That and she misses having those stupid little sibling fights. He kinda does too. They never buy a second set.)
