Took my sweet ass time climbing up to the ski resort this morning as it was 42°F at 6:30am...or I should say I was spinning and spazzing my sweet ass up to the ski resort this morning! It hasn’t been 42° in Vegas in seven months and my body reminded me why it doesn’t like the cold. Wow and the polar bears can have that shit! Still it was at least a beautiful distraction!! It’s also an odd camber and grade to the road just before the entrance to the ski resort. Combine that with the mountain hanging overhead and it can create vertigo if you’re not careful. #mybrainissoconfused #butitspretty #leecanyon

Missed the sunrise but did get some sand riding in as it must’ve rained a few days ago cuz it always floods the trail with sand and rocks. Did cruise by the waterfall going into @lakelasvegas though, which seems like an oasis.

Why go to bed super early to get up super early to drive an hour to ride? Because Mountain sunrises are awesome, that’s why! Plus it was just me on the road for about 45 minutes while everyone was still sleeping. After that was about 3 cars for another 45 minutes. Felt like I had the whole mountain to my bad self! It was sooo quiet and peaceful, which was just what I needed. Nice to escape the heat from the valley and actually enjoy a ride for once. Ya know there’s always that little voice that tells me to just keep going and to never look back. One day voice...one day we’ll just hop on and leave it all behind. (at Mount Charleston)

The verdict is in: super stoked on the 28mm tubeless @schwalbetires. Got the air pressure fine tuned. Did find some mega rough chip seal roads to ride on that usually gave me all kinds of crazy spasms but not now!! Hit plenty of cracks, holes, reflectors (the drive by brail kind all over Vegas) and anything else I could find. It even sharpened the steering on my already razor sharp turning Booker trike. It’s a 74° headtube angle with 73mm rake for about 20mm of trail and it handles like it’s on rails. Remember trike not bike, trikes have their own rules. I’ve tried a ton of different wheel combos, tire widths, carbon, aluminum, tubular, tubed, and now tubeless tires. I like the ease of tubeless with the ride quality of tubulars. Still keep some tubulars for racing and steep hills but man if I can ride faster with less pain and spasms I’m SOLD! #whydidiwaitsolong #paracycling #peacecyclingperformance #tubeless #schwalbetiresrock (at Las Vegas, Nevada)

You know it’s a hot morning when you’ve gone through water bottle #1 in 20 minutes and the sun hasn’t even come up yet. Gel at 30 minutes and last water bottle and I barely made an hour. Well a short day it is...no sense of killing it when it’s this warm. And by warm I’m talking low 90s at 5:30am. Weather is punching hard for a Monday, so f**k it I can chill inside.

Even though I failed miserably at the correct tire pressure today, the sunrise was bang on FN awesome!! What the photos don’t show is that once up by Bootleg Canyon you can see the curve of the earth! By this time I was sweating so much I was bitching at how hot it was at 6:30am and then be like, “Fucking view kicks ass so stop bitching!” And yes I have many conversations with myself and we’re fine. 😁 (at Boulder City, Nevada)
