every so often the discourse comes around again that basically boils down to “is it feminist for a woman to want men to be attracted to her” and it’s like. no, it’s not. it’s also not anti feminist. it’s not relevant. it’s nothing. a woman wanting to have sex with men has nothing to do with feminism. being a lesbian or celibate is not “more feminist” than being a straight woman. the point was always “women should not have to dress in a way that is attractive to men solely in order to be acknowledged by them at all” not “women should never dress in a way that is attractive to men for any reason.” sometimes a woman wants men to want to have sex with her. that’s not anti feminist. that’s average. it’s also not feminist just because it’s her choice to do it. it is not related. feminism is about women’s human rights. that doesn’t mean it’s a feminist act every time a woman makes a choice.

This is especially good with Kaelish because its based on Celtic countries - In Ireland & Northern Ireland Gaeilge was suppressed and it wasn't allowed to be spoken in courts from 1737-2022, with less than half of the population speaking it and most considering it a second language. In Scotland the Westminister Government basically unofficially banned Gaelic being spoken (used loads of policies to stop it being taught etc.) as well as the Highland Clearances removing loads of native speakers, currently only 1% of the population speak gaelic fluently (this was 30% before the bans in 1700s)

So it fully makes sense that if Grishaverse countries are based off real countries/regions that Jesper can't speak Kaelish and that its ignored/neglected in favour of another culture instead of an equal balance, even though he spent 7years of his life with just his Kaelish dad

Lowkey ik probably no one else cares about this detail, but I appreciate that Jesper doesn’t know Kaelish. He’s half Kaelish, but he doesn’t know the language.

I’m half Chinese and I don’t know a single word of Chinese. Some biracial people know two languages from the different languages their parents speak, and that’s what tends to be shown in media. But my father never taught me his native languages. So I felt comforted that someone else didn’t have that, even though he isn’t real lmao.
