⋆₊˚⊹ ࿔⋆Fourth Week!⋆₊˚⊹ ࿔⋆
Nooooooo, it's the final week! I don't want it to end!
On Monday, there was another Zoom meeting that I sat in on and took notes for. I got to find out more about the project and I can't wait to see the end result! It's been in the works for a while, so it's awesome to see the behind the scenes of such a cool passion project.
Tomorrow, I'm sitting in on my last in person session and I'm so sad! I love working with Mike and Brendan, and being behind the scenes. I've expressed this a couple times, but I LOVE the backstage stuff rather than the things that put me front and center. It's just not where I belong and I'm happy that way! Plus I argue that the innerworkings of something is a lot cooler than the final product.
On Sunday and the following three Sundays, Mike has been kind enough to let me attend his voice acting lessons. I'm really excited for it! Getting more coaching from professionals is huge! And since I participate in other things that is voice acting-heavy in my own time, it'll be awesome to be able to transfer over the skills I'll learn into a practical setting.
I'm so sad that my time with Mercenary Co. is coming to an end. It's gonna be weird coming back to SAIT (especially since I've been put on news first week back...).
I'm really glad that my practicum was as chill as it was, since I probably would have lost my mind going to an actual station. I really needed this break. Now I'm feeling a bit better to tackle April and make it to graduation! I can't believe it's already April... And my birthday... Oh my god I'm turning 20-

⋆₊˚⊹ ࿔⋆Third Week!⋆₊˚⊹ ࿔⋆
Over all it was a pretty chill week!
Sat Mar 15 session: I met the third co-owner of Mercenary Co. Her name is Nancy and she's super nice. I also go to meet more of the voice talent that's involved with the project!
The session was 3 hours and I picked up a few things on my own just by observing! Some coaching things, certain ways to voice lines... There's a lot to learn just by listening.
Sat Mar 22 session: I had to arrive later due to my certificate class, but thankfully Mike and Brendan were understanding.
I sat in on today's recording session and, at the end, I actually got to get behind the mic! Best part is, is that I got coaching from a professional! I was so nervous but Brendan is really great and helped me out when I was stuck on how to voice something.
I think it's pretty much confirmed that I'm going to be able to sit in on the voice acting classes Mike is hosting, starting March 30th. And they're letting me stay through April. It makes more sense than "You're only with us in March, so you get the one session that's in March".
More recording sessions to come and I'm excited to sit in on as many as I can.
Now if you'll excuse me, I have some audio to cut up and organize.

⋆₊˚⊹ ࿔⋆Second Week!⋆₊˚⊹ ࿔⋆
This week had some more things going on!
On Monday, I joined a zoom call consisting of myself, Mike, Brendan and one of the voice talents.
My job was so take notes on the lines, meaning I kept track of how many takes there were (or as many as I could hear since some of the lines were just too powerful for zoom) and circled the takes Brendan liked.
It was so awesome listening to the voice talent as they captured the character so well. I had my camera on and Brendan could see all my facial expressions haha! But because he could see my reactions, he could tell that I'm in it to win it and he voiced as much. Which made me really happy! I'm very lucky to be working with them.
At the end of the two hour session, I got to speak to the voice talent and they were super nice! After they left, Mike, Brendan and I talked a little more about what the month is going to look like and there's a chance I could join Mike's voicing classes, which start up on the 30th. But since it technically runs through April (when my practicum is over), they'll still let me sit in for this round. And I really hope I can! It'll be such an amazing opportunity to learn from a professional voice actor!
From the session on Monday, I was the first to get the audio file from the talent. Another one of my duties is to cut up all the takes, organize them into which line it was and put them in the shared Google Drive.
Finally getting to hear the more intense lines since zoom couldn't handle was SO. COOL. The voice talent did SUCH a good job and I'm so happy that I get to be the first to hear the raw audio.
There's another recording session on Saturday from 1-4pm that I'm attending in person! It's going to be awesome finally meeting Mike and Brendan in the flesh, rather than over zoom or email.

⋆₊˚⊹ ࿔⋆ First Week! ⋆₊˚⊹ ࿔⋆
I know this is so late- But better late than never!
In the first week, it was just some back and forth between Mike and I about scheduling. Since nothing was planned, I just worked on personal projects and my certificate courses :]
