âi mean, they were a little surprised when i mentioned it, but nothing bad,â dia divulged, trying to remember back to the conversation she had with her mother on the phone. âthey asked if you were still in the band and of course, cambiĂ© el tema rĂĄpidamente since my mom could be a bit of a chismosa,â she continued reassuringly, âbut other than that, theyâre actually a bit relieved to know someone else in the building since they always think iâm fucking around,â rolling her eyes at the thought of her parents still managing to be overprotective even at this age, âso iâm sure theyâll appreciate it if you can come, especially my brother. but if you canât, thatâs totally fine too,â waving the topic away, âbut speaking of, quĂ© has hecho Ășltimamente?â
âi like keeping people on their toes,â he says, a little smirk following. âshe likes her tea as piping hot as my mom does, so sheâs probably already heard from her. itâs fine, though. i donât mind following in my dadâs footsteps, but dia, and i mean this with all my heart, do not let me grow a mustache like him.â he shakes his head, âfucking around? thatâs kind of funny." joaquin almost brings up her work ethic, followed by a certain digital pet, but he decides to save it for another time. âbut she shouldnât worry so much. youâre usually more disciplined than me?â placing his phone back into his pocket he laughs, âiâm just messing with you. it actually sounds kind of fun.â shrugging softly, âoh, you know, just fucking around. what about you?â

joaquin can now officially add being nearly taken down by a small dog as a potential cause of death. he has to steady himself as the ball of fluff starts wrapping its leash around his legs, his hand start to lose grip of his mail as he tries to disentangle the leash from around him. âitâs okay,â he lies, still reaching down for the leash, âwait... she doesnât bite, does she?â maybe itâs something that he should have asked before he put his hand near the little dogâs mouth, but itâs too late now. all he can do is hope for the best as he finally grabs hold of the leash.
Gracie made her way to her little mail box in the building, Doritos in one hand, dog leash that connected to a small white Maltese named Hillary in the other. âWeâre all in this together, once we know that we are. Weâre all stars and we see that!â She sang as she opened her box, the leash falling from her grasp. The brunette gasped as Hillary ran towards a person coming through the building. âHillary come back! Oh my goodness Iâm so sorry.â She exclaimed, looking up at the other as she tried to regain grasp of the leash.

âfrancis,â city replied, matter of factly. âplease donât tell anyone i know this much about disney movies. it might ruin my reputation around here,â she joked. she always found it strange how she could recall such tiny obscure details like that, and yet city could barely remember most of yesterday. âooh a clear head. either means youâre doing something really good or really bad,â she commented. she wasnât trying to pry, but she also kept the conversation open enough so that he could tell her what was going on if he wanted to. âno, joaquin, iâm gonna be mad at you for the rest of my life because you wont get high with me.â city said, a fake pout matching his before she laughed.
"it almost sounds like you watched it as recently as yesterday,â joaquin suggests, faux suspicion etched in his expression, âbut youâre fine, iâm not going to tell anyone?â although heâs not convinced that anyone would judge her if they knew. âiâm pretty sure that everyoneâs been using the same disney+ account, anyway.â he sighs softly, âi donât know. probably good. i just feel like maybe i lost myself a little bit? iâm not trying to sound deep or anything. itâs really not, but yeah.â joaquin shrugs, âhey, you never know. i always figured you were hanging out with me for my good looks, but it could have been about getting high the whole time.âÂ

â Â A CRICKET ? ARE those common in new york ? i thought they were more , like , forest bugs ? â raven questions , raising her eyebrows at the male. she didnât know all the much about the wildlife in new york , if there was much , but crickets seemed too out of place. at least to her. â tossing it outside is probably better , itâs not like a cricket is gonna hurt you so itâs usually good to save those bugs anyway. or maybe itâll find its way to more crickets ? it is a bug , after all. â
"i think theyâre kind of everywhere?â he suggests, âbut iâm not an entomologist.â they probably prefer the forest, but thereâs nothing stopping them from finding their way into peopleâs homes. except maybe bug spray. âi mean, it wasnât really doing anything to me? except being annoying as shit, but yeah.â he nods, âwell, iâm pretty sure thatâs what it wanted? i think that chirping is some kind of mating call. unfortunately, iâm not into it. hope he understands.âÂ

» âą * â ( aron piper, male , he/him ) . i think i hear volver a comenzar by technicolor fabrics coming from apartment 2512. doesnât joaquin castaneda live there?? i heard they are a 24 year old music composer from montreal, quebec, but theyâve been living in the apartments for six months . they come across a bit - fickle and - arrogant , but they also seem like they could be + ingenious and + sociable. whenever i see them, i think of antique instruments being used as decoration, listening to music in the dark & crumpled up pieces of paper with lyrics scribbled down on them. oh, and donât forget to follow them on instagram at jcastaneda !
sort of revamped him? a lot of this is the same as before. but thereâs still some tweaks! if we had any connections before then it can probably be assumed that theyâre still there. unless it conflicts with anything new. then we can plot out something different!Â
full name: joaquin gael castaneda bruhl-cabrera
birth place: montreal, quebec, canada
occupation: musician / composer
sexuality: gay
birthday: march 21st 1996
height 6âČ1âł
zodiac: aries
mbti: Â ENTJ
relationship status: single
relatives: natalina cabrera
instruments: violin, bass, & piano
languages: fluent in english, fairly fluent in french & spanish, & some german
early childhood:
although his parents are from europe, he was born and raised in canada. due to their musical backgrounds (his mom a violinist and his dad a composer), his parents wanted to share their influence with him as early as possible. so he started playing violin before he was even five years old. he shared the same passion for music as his parents, but since he had little freedom to do much else, he started to resent playing the violin. especially when lessons cut into social time. basically: the boy was lonely af.
teen years:
as a form of rebellion, he decided to pick up playing bass. this meant he tended to slack off while playing violin. but he wasnât slacking off in school and manged to skip a grade. around this time he also befriended people who would later form a band with him. joaquin started dating a girl, too. the relationship was kind of a drag. as graduation approached, he decided to skip going to college. as you can imagine, this was quite the disappointment for his parents as they had always dreamed of him getting into a prestigious music school. he was just really burnt out by the demands of his parents and his education and needed time to figure things out. so he left canada and distanced himself.Â
his twenties
he was still in and out of a relationship with that should have already ended. part of him liked the comfort of having a girlfriend. but when they finally broke up, it felt like a weight was lifted off his shoulders. he liked being able to do whatever he wanted. this also lead to him realizing that he wasnât really into girls at all. the band fizzled out. which he didnât mind so much. then he slept with his friend, julian, and caught feels. stupid. messy. feels. something he had to work out without hurting their friendship.Â
recently:
heâs kind of been doing some soul searching for the past six months. actually listened to his parents somewhat and went back to school after the band thing didnât work out. for him, he has an on/off relationship with school. he already has a career building by composing for people. and connections through his parents. but he hasnât completely abandoned school.Â
facts that donât fit anywhere:
his parents still send him money
downplays his intelligence sometimes
uses groups of people as siblings because he was an only child
doesnât catch feels very easily
arrogant when it comes to music / perfectionist too
more confident than he used to be / over compensates
drinks dumb bitch juice and makes mistakes sometimes
thinks vaping looks stupid
surprisingly good at cookingÂ
sometimes ignorant (socially)Â
can (almost) pass as coolÂ
i mean, it's one banana, michael. what could it cost, $10?
wanted connections:
friends, enemies, in-betweenâŠ
i honestly am the absolute worst when it comes to connections?Â
maybe someone who has family history. their parents didnât get along? so now they donât really get along? but itâs dumb. and they actually should be friends?
a fangirl who is upset that he quit the band? maybe blames him for the band breaking up? (itâs probably not pink slip at this point. another band).Â
a girl he hooked up (or almost did) before he realized that it really wasnât for him? (but now theyâre cool and probably joke about it. and theyâre friends).Â
again. terrible at coming up with wanted connections.
guy friends. he doesnât have a brotp.Â
more frenemies (especially anyone who points out that he is actually a nerd)Â
casual friends. anyone he goes to the gym with. or mingles with when there is a social event going on. might text each other memes sometimes.Â
a wing man. not necessarily to get him dates. but someone who can take him under their wing? since heâs more confident now. but doesn't really know how to use it?Â
a distant friend. someone that has grown distant from him. or he grew distant from them. doesnât have to be anything dramatic. but still they arenât as close now.Â
alright this is all i have right now. i am always up for brainstorming.Â
thanks for reading this. i really tried?

"are you a time traveler?â joaquin asks, eyeing the blonde with amusement, âi donât think that iïżœïżœve ever actually heard anyone use the word jiffy before.â maybe someoneâs parents, but definitely not his own. bending down, he rests a knee against the ground and reaches out to help, âi could give you a hand if you want?â heâs genuinely being nice, but sheâs also kind of blocking the walkway for him,  âunless youâre worried that i might find something weird?âÂ
open!!!
savannah moving back she didnât realize would take so much work. sure she only had a few suitcases to bring back, but itâs still so much work, considering she had four, and she one of them was just her shoes, and that was her biggest one of course. and as she was lugging all four to her apartment, she dropped one of them, basically opening all her clothes for the world to see. âcrap!â she told herself as she put the rest of her luggage to the side and begrudgingly tried to pack it up as fast as she could, before hearing someone come around the corner. âsorry, please step around the clothes, iâll get this cleaned up in a jiffy!â

âheimlich, him and the angry ladybug were my favorites,â she told him. âthat makes sense, hopper was scary, and honestly, so is k---- s-----,â city laughed. âi know the other week was aone time thing, but i do have some weed if you want some. or maybe something stronger if you wanna wake up.â
âoh, right! thatâs him. what was the ladybugâs name? i want to say frank, but i really canât remember. itâs seriously been at least twenty years since i watched it." scrunching up his face as he hears the named mentioned, he agrees, âmaybe it was my intuition.â joaquin takes in a breath, realizing that heâs going to have to turn her offer down, âi appreciate the offer, but iâm actually trying to keep my head clear right now." itâs not just that he rather keep things professional between the two of them, though that carries importance too, but with all the questionable decisions heâs been making lately, and for the past year, he feels that maybe it's time to start being a little more mindful. a slight pout rests on his face, an expression meant to playful rather than garner any kind of sympathy, "will you ever be able to forgive me?â

erupting in laughter, the brunette grabbed her stomach, almost rolling off the couch as she gasped for air. it was less about his personality quiz result but rather his expression that sent her into tears of joy. âi, all of a sudden, feel so much better with squidward.â just then, the dog who had been quietly laying in the corner of the living room got woken up from the volume of her laughter and made his way straight onto joaquinâs lap, being completely familiar with him, âi think latte agrees with buzzfeed. yellow is his favorite color,â preventing the laughter that was threatening to spill out once more. âoh by the way, my parents are coming down in a couple of days and theyâre inviting you to dinner with us,â
he sticks his tongue out playfully at her response, âiâm sure you do.â now he wishes he would have lied. although heâs not sure which spongebob character he would have preferred. maybe larry? joaquin starts petting his diaâs dog he makes himself comfortable in his lap, âor maybe heâs just feeling sorry for me." he eyes her suspiciously, unsure if he agrees with her reasoning, âthatâs kind of biased, dia. dogs can only see blue and yellow.â if what heâs read is true, anyway. âoh, really? i feel like i havenât seen them in forever.â joaquin remarks, âi bet they were kind of surprised to hear that i moved here.â not that he had ever expressed living anywhere else, mostly he always figured he would end up wherever the band was. and before that, he worried he would stay in montreal for the rest of his life. "well, iâll have to check my calendar,â he teases, opening the app up on his phone, âbut i could probably make it.âÂ

city looked over at joaquin and laughed. âyou know, sometimes when you talk, i canât tell if youâre high or not,â she told him. âthatâs what i do with all bugs. they freak me out but after i catch them i feel really bad for them and their little bug families so i let them go,â she explained. âitâs probably because i watched bugs life too many times when i was a child.â
âa bugâs life? kids used to tell me that my dad sounded like the caterpillar. probably because heâs from germany. i think i've pretty much blocked that movie out of my head, though,â he laughs, âbecause the grasshoppers scared me.â nudging her, âalso, iâm not high. but iâm pretty damn tired. i guess thatâs what happens when jiminy âfrickinâ cricket decides to move in.âÂ

âever since we came back thereâs been a cricket in my apartment,â joaquin whines, âor maybe it took up residency while i was away? itâs been keeping me up for nights.â not to mention it was pretty stifling to his creativity, forcing him to incorporate the chirp of a cricket into every song he was working on, âi found it, but i think that iâve grown emotionally attached because i couldnât kill it, so i tossed it outside. maybe itâll find its way to flute guy. he seems lonely.â

"youâre not the only one who can flex having a private education.â joaquin points out, referring to himself, though his parents donât make nearly as much money in comparison. âyouâd probably like that, wouldnât you?â sighing, he gestures vaguely, âi donât know? maybe sheer curiosity?â he shakes his head, mind in disbelief as he listens to asher go on and on, âhm, really? are you sure they're not just saying that because it's the only way to get you to shut up?â giving in just a little bit, he decides to play along with him, âi can't say that i blame them, though. there's definitely worse ways to keep you quiet."

belle laughed at joaquinâs eagerness, leaning her head against her open palm. she wasnât exactly sure how theyâd gotten onto this topic of conversation, but she wasnât complaining. she liked being emotional support for people, but it got exhausting after awhile. âglinda didnât tell her because she had a journey she needed to go on. there wouldnât be any story if glinda just told her, right? i mean, someone had to kill the wicked witch.â
âit was dorothyâs journey, sure, but glinda still kind of used her? i donât think she wanted to get her hands dirty. so she let dorothy do all the dirty work. she could have killed the wicked witch herself, but maybe it would have ruined her image? i donât know.â finishing it off with a playful take, he throws a little positivity into the mix, âsheâs still kind of a babe, though. iâll give her that. thereâs nobody else that could pull off that outfit quite like her.â joaquin leans back against the chair, fairly saitsifed by the points heâs made, âso, whatâs your hot movie take?âÂ

âhey!â joaquin nudges, âi said not to look!â lowering his head, he tries to cover his amusement by hiding his face. "yeah, maybe,â he considers, humoring aubrey, âor just of you?â standing up, he takes the opposite seat. âplay it cool, though,â joaquin warns, âweâre starting to seem suspicious.â he glances around briefly, searching for an easy distraction when his eyes land on her notebook. curiously, he asks, âoh, aubres, are you writing something for us?â
