“luckily for ol’ saint nick, my mom didn’t let me touch the cookies so he was germ-free. plus, getting santa sick would put me on the naughty list indefinitely.”

“I’m happy to have spent my money on my friends and family. It’s apart of what the holiday’s are about. I didn’t think you’d want to be checked up on be me. Though it excites me that you’re feeling better!”

“here i thought the holidays were about the birth of jesus and not about feeding into big business. word on the street is jesus is not down with capitalism.” jonah was dragged to church every sunday by his religious mother but he was often seen sitting in the pews unphased. at least that was so in the most recent years. he was actually quite devoted to his faith until about a year and a half ago. oddly enough hat’s exactly when everything else in jonah’s life started to spiral. “KIDDING. gift-giving does kind of give you the warm fuzzies.”

haak pursed his lips in ‘thought’ before replying. “you’re lucky i’m still feeling in the christmas spirit, mini matlin. you’re forgiven.” jonah really didn’t expect anyone to reach out but he couldn’t help throwing in a jab or two. “i know it’s a little late but santa bring you anything good for christmas? mama haak brought me a brand spanking new gibson. forever grateful. hoping to break her in very soon.”

It’s a new year, a new decade. you’re alive, healthy, happ-- okay, clearly not happy with that attitude. new years resolution, perhaps?”

“while everyone was complaining about being broke for the holidays and their hatred for the thirty different renditions of ‘all i want for christmas is you,” I was dying in bed. thanks for checking up on me, by the way. now that the bronchitis is no longer contagious, what are we doing for new years?”
