ooooh is it cause they didn’t want it to be a supersons show so instead of damian they gave him a brother???? and then they gave jordan powers instead of jon so they could surprise fans
why is superman & lois the least shitty cw tv show i’ve ever seen

on that note, I’m also fascinated as to why they decided to give clark and lois twin sons when they only have jon in the comics? not complaining--i like jor and i’m a twin so im partial to twin stories BUT i havent found anything about why they created jordan and i really want to know

#ik this sounds rude but i mean it as a compliment#only 4 eps in so plenty of time to disappoint but i have to say it's the strongest start to any dc show on this network#superman and lois#dc tv series#cw network

Sometimes you come up with the best ideas for your story while doing something else. Your subconscious mind needs to process things. So have some fun, and allow your subconscious to work, allow it to fix that plot, or flat dialogue, or long, boring paragraph.

That post that's like "stop writing characters who talk like they're trying to get a good grade in therapy" really blew the door wide open for me about how common it's become for a character's emotional intelligence to not be taken into consideration when writing conflict. I remember the first time I went to therapy I had such a hard time even identifying what I was feeling, let alone had the language to explain it to someone else. Of course there are plenty of people who've never been to therapy a day in their life who are in tune to their emotions. But even they would have some trouble expressing themselves sometimes. You have to take into account there are plenty of people who are uncomfortable expressing themselves and people who think they're not allowed to feel certain ways. It also makes for more interesting conflict to have characters with different levels of understanding.

"the education system traumatizes students it deems stupid" and "the education system traumatizes students it deems gifted" are two concepts that can and should coexist.
