Lobby cards for 'Red Dust' which came out on this day in 1932. Here are some facts about the film!
Jean Harlow's famous rain-barrel bath is recreated in her film Bombshell (1933)
Jean Harlow's husband of two months, producer Paul Bern, committed suicide during the Labor Day break in the production. Although she was absent for 10 days following his death, scenes were shot around her and the movie was completed on schedule.
During filming of the famous rainbarrel sequence, Jean Harlow reportedly stood up - topless - and called out something along the lines of "one for the boys in the lab!" Director Victor Fleming quickly removed the film from the camera to prevent any footage from reaching the black market.
After the suicide of her husband Paul Bern, which occurred during filming, most of Jean Harlow's scenes were re-shot, with higher neck-lines on her dresses.

On this day in Harlow History, September 25th 1933. Jean had her foot prints cemented at Grauman's Chinese Theatre. She actually had this twice - this first was done inside on stage, in front of a paying audience as sort of a marketing ploy by Sid Grauman. Once the cement set, it was wheeled off to be placee in forecourt outside and promptly fell to the ground and smashed infront of the crowd. Jean came back four days later to redo the ceremony, and this time it was held outside (and free); she included her signature and three pennies embedded in a line for good luck. Sadly, the pennies are no longer there as they have been pried out by souvenir hunters over the years.
