Ah.

No person breaks in the same way. No person feels the same thing when they do. There are many ways to break, of course. Many choices to make when it happens.

Of course, in the moment of breaking, there isn't really much room for thought, now is there?

Ah. But the choices. Those still happen.

What do you suppose a choice feels like to a wolf? To a bear? To creatures without words? They make them. They decide things. They turn to the right or left, pounce or crouch, stalk or howl. Decisions are made, but they are not made with words. Not made with plans.

I think it is like this, when you break.

What use are words, when the chasm within your souls stretches to fill the cavern of your mind? What use are words, when pain, rage, and agony burn through your blood, hammer in your chest, and fill your forearms with brutal pressure?

What use are words, when the injury stabbing within you is strong enough to drive you to your knees, to make you wish for a cane, for a handlebar, that makes you feel as if you stand suddenly on a foregin world, where the strength of your muscles is woefully insufficient? When your mind reverts to that primal state, where you crouch alone like a hunted beast, light gone from your eyes?

No person breaks the same way;

but it is clear to see.

Many of us are breaking.

This world will soon see a cruel split, among the broken. Those who break, and become wolves, feral without thought, savage without words. Blinded by fear, they will strike, and kill, and maim. Pupils slitted with blind hate.

Then there will be the lost. Who lay on the ground, staring at the oncoming death with slack jaws, and empty eyes. Taken by nihlism. Taken by pointlessness.

Then there will be the prey, running. Running forever. Eyes wide with terror, tranpling their own. Throwing others behind them.

The genocide in Gaza has been ongoing for almost two years now and it feels like people have moved on from it. Campaigns are constantly stagnating and not enough is coming in to keep people afloat, and this as the situation on the ground only continues to worsen. Even when there was some food available, it would be sold for exorbitant prices. Aid has been consistently denied and enough has never been let in, but now nothing is coming in at all. The US and Israel are working to deliberately starve the people of Gaza, and they now face a serious famine. What "Aid Points" these countries set up are only used to target and kill people who are trying to feed their families. There is no food left, and what little can be found is sold at even more expensive prices than before. To deliberately inflict this kind of hunger is a war crime, it is inhumane and unconscionable, and even more so when we know that the children of Gaza aren't spared from it. My friend Dina has two children, one who is a toddler and the other only about a year old, who are having to drink salt water to stay alive. Dina and her children have been suffering from intense hunger, and I am scared for my friend everyday. But people are turning away from Gaza, and people are turning away from her. Gaza needs your attention and your action now more than ever. If you can help my friend at all, if you can donate to her campaign or share her story, it would help more than you know. Please don't forget about her.

Israel has launched violent attacks against the people of Gaza once again, with complete disregard for the supposed ceasefire they agreed to. The death counts keep rising and it's no secret that Israel not only kills Palestinian children, but specifically targets them. My friend Sahar @reallyoptimisticface was separated from her children before the current aggression started, and they have been living in Gaza without their parents for almost two years. She knows that they live in danger, and we both worry for them daily. The area they're currently in is an extremely dangerous zone and the lack of connection makes communication hard. Her older daughter Diana has been caring for her younger siblings, but she's suffered burns and wounds from being forced to cook over open flames.

As more news comes out and we see the extent of the Israeli violence, Sahar worries her children may be next. Please stand by her and support her so she can see her children again, bring them to safety, and be together as a family. No child should have to live through this. "i asked ai to generate this meal plan". its causing water shortages where its data centers are built. "ill generate some pictures for the dnd campaign". its spreading misinformation. "meta, generate an image of this guy doing something stupid". its trained off stolen images, writing, video, audio. "i was talking with my snapchat ai-" theres no way to verify what its doing with the information it collects. "youtube is impletmenting ai based age verification". my work has an entire graphics media department and has still put ai generated motivational posters up everywhere. ai playlists. ai facial verification. google ai microsoft ai meta ai snapchat ai. everyone treats it as a novelty. every treats it as a mandatory part of life. am i the only one who sees it? am i paranoid? am i going insane? jesus fucking christ. if i have to hear one more "well at least-" "but it does-" "but you can-" im about to lose it. i shouldnt have to jump through hoops to avoid the evil machine. have you no principles? no goddamn spine? am i the weird one here?

I really think we should stop saying "kid-friendly" and start saying "ad-friendly". We shouldn't indulge these companies and their excuses anymore. I also think that continuing to pretend that this is about "protecting the children" pushes a lot of the blame onto kids and teens, who don't have the political power to push through any of this censorship legislature. Corporations and governments are to blame.
