(R6D084) 100 Days of Code - Back and already banging my head XD
I launched my site and found that my nav header is completely broken, so I spent my whole hour today digging through the code, trying to figure out why. I also looked more into things like shadowRoot just to better understand the JavaScript. It’s not fixed… but at least I learned some new things, today. Photo by Marcela Rogante on Unsplash

(R6D083) 100 Days of Code - Failure, and how I'm choosing to react
I failed. For several days, I did not code. I didn’t even do anything remotely close to working on code. Anyone who reads my past couple of posts could tell I was falling out of love with it, that it had become a burden. Why then? Do I still want to work on code? Yes, of course I do. But I’ve been burning myself out. I’m riding a bicycle to and from work every day, I’m trying to learn Japanese,…

(R6D082) 100 Days of Code - More server troubleshooting
Once again I write about yesterday. I got the server running, but later that night it broke again. That was around midnight, though, and so I spent about 40 minutes on it before going to bed.

(R6D081) 100 Days of Code - Online Server
I didn’t write a post for yesterday, but I did spend some time working on hosting a Palworld server, so that’s what I’m counting for that hour. It was more like 2 and I still hadn’t gotten it fully running, but that’s what I’m working on today! Photo by Taylor Vick on Unsplash

(R6D080) 100 Days of Code - Makeup Day
I 100% completely forgot to work on code yesterday, so today I just did a morning hour of code and then I’ll be doing an evening hour of code. Kinda hacky, but oh well. Worse yet, my first hour of code was even more cheaty because I just went around to various different websites, inspecting their code. I’m finding it easier and easier to isolate html and css elements through the inspect feature…

(R6D079) 100 Days of Code - Slamming Through LI Learning
I made some good progress on my LinkedIn Learning today and that feels pretty good. I also enjoyed some cheap Fred Meyer’s sushi. I… weirdly really like crappy sushi. I was reminded of vars today and then quickly learned I should never use them in JavaScript. They’re global by default. Wild. “let” makes alot more sense, now, though. (R6D078) 100 Days of Code - Not Much to Say
I’m writing this post a day late because I was still a little under the weather yesterday and fell asleep listening to the pragmatic programmer. I’ve always doubted the efficacy of those “learn Japanese while you sleep” videos, but I’m not against self-delusion when it serves my own purposes, so that’s what I was doing. Yup. Learning in my sleep. I was probably awake for at least an hour of it,…

(R6D077) 100 Days of Code - Early Morning Tinkering
I’m ill, so I went to bed early. That being said, I woke up and started tinkering with a test page on my site. I’m working on how I want the game page to look. I started by making different frames to mimick Kingdom of Loathing. I’m not sure this is how I want to do it, though; specifically, I’m not convinced I want a news feed in a right pane. I played with having different frame configurations…

(R6D076) 100 Days of Code - More Logic Problems
Today, I spent my time putzing around in Human Resource Machine until I got fed up with being stuck and then moved onto 7 Billion Humans. There are a couple more logic puzzles left and I’m really close on two of them, but I’m worried I need to refactor my answers pretty significantly… too bad I can’t just use an IDE to do that. (R6D075) 100 Days of Code - Refresh and Refactor
I’ve kinda been floating through my days of code for a while, now, but today I’ve found the motivation to go back to the lessons and put in some real work. No listening to a podcast or playing a game; today, I went back to the lesson on the Document Object Model and how to use that to reference different elements of a web page. I completed this before, but I wanted to review it and then refactor…

(R6D074) 100 Days of Coding - Gaming the System
Today… I cheated again. My coding time was spending 5 hours playing Human Resource Machine and 7 Billion Humans. These legitimately test your ability to build logic equations just like a program. Below is my solution to one of the Human Resource Machine puzzles and if you tell me it’s not programming, I know you’re lying. Photo by Luis Villasmil on Unsplash

(R6D073) 100 Days of Code - Lazy Listening
I meant to write this after my ride home, but I was running late to the company dinner and now I’m back home after riding the bus and I’m a bit trashed. I was pretty lazy about today, though, just listening to an episode of Coding Blocks. Trying to remember, now.,.. Honestly… they were talking about keyboards and stuff. At least at first. Then cloud computing. Man… today shouldn’t count. I’m…

(R6D072) 100 Days of Code - Breaking Toys in a Sandbox
I’m not writing alot today. I just tinkered with the website, mostly trying to get a button to align with other elements. It wasn’t working, so I played around with moving the button all over the header and even into the body of the main page. I’m still not sure where I want it, but what I do know is… CSS is tedious. This keeps happening! I just wanted to write some JS but the button I needed to…

(R6D071) 100 Days of Code - Last Minute Book Study
Today was cram day for the Pragmatic Programmer book. I’ll try to write more as I go through it. The first section was on decoupling your software. There’s a long period going over reducing global data, specifically. I hadn’t really thought too much about that before, but it makes sense. It adds coupling and bulk. It can’t be dropped from memory because it’s always there. One of the tips is if…

(R6D070) 100 Days of Code - Pecking at it here and there
I listlessly pecked at my website, today, and kinda just broke it and rolled it back. What a productive day. Did that for 3 hours, getting regularly distracted by Youtube shenanigans. I probably did about an hour of bad code in that. Now, bed. Photo by Jesse Schoff on Unsplash

(R6D069) 100 Days of Code - I Cheated
Today… my hour of code was playing “Human Resource Machine”. It’s a game where you arrange logic blocks to effectively write a program to solve the level. It’s really low-level, but it’s silly and fun and it can get really challenging. I then checked and realized that it released on Steam, so I picked it up there, as well, and I’m starting the game over from the beginning on my Steam…

(R6D068) 100 Days of Code - Burning Out
Another day where I just listened to a couple of episodes of coding blocks. I’m really burning out on this 100 days of code. This always happens. I need to find my desire for it, again, but I just feel like I need a break. Even these lazy days don’t feel like a break, because it’s always in the back of my mind that I should be doing more.
