I’ve seen so many comments on TikTok saying that the people calling her a racist are “just being racist themselves” like bffr

Yeah I’ve seen a bunch of takes like that but those are dumb. She’s been appealing to the MAGA crowd at least since she featured “blue lives matter” propaganda (i.e. pro police brutality against Black and Brown people) on her Insta. That’s one context for the American Eagle ad, and the other is the racist history of genealogy especially around blue eyes. Youd have to ignore context to exculpate Sydney.

From an amoral pov it’s a good strategy to grow a loyal base of support, and now she has our piece of shit president elevating for her, which will no doubt be a boon for her career. Couldn’t have gone better for her, really.

The dancing scene was so good and reminded me a lot of the scene from Another Round which Thomas Vinterberg also directed, such a great film. Tom said in an interview about the campaign he's obsessed with Thomas and his work and someone from Prada commented that they got on so well while making the ad, so it's no surprise he was able to capture the essence of Tom easily so easily and make a great ad centered on him

Oh I didn’t know anything about that! I will be watching Another Round and hoping these two collaborate again some day.
