Daily Dahmer-Jeff’s letters to Mary and Barbara. I translated both down below. They are from the confessions book

My dearest Barbara, Hello, and how is my special and most beautiful friend? Thanks so much for your card! I hope that things are still going well for you at school. Did you know that my cell has “jumping” spiders in it? I killed one two nights ago. I don’t like them because I’m afraid that one will crawl into my ear, or up my nose while I’m sleeping. Oh well, soon winter will be here, and I won’t have to worry about creepy insects anymore. The judge still hasn’t decided about my garnishment. This is the second time that he said he would decide by a certain date, and then changed his mind. You can’t even trust the judges to stick by their words these days! But at least the prison has let me buy from the canteen each week again. It’s nice to be able to buy stamps, coffee, and cigarettes each week like the other inmates. I’ve finally been able to pay back the other inmates too. It was raining for most of the day yesterday. It finally stopped around six pm and I looked out my window and saw this huge solid pink rainbow! I’ve never seen a pink rainbow before. Barbra I love you, and I keep you in my thoughts and prayers! [about him liking roses, his grandmother told her as soon as he was arrested, a journalist came to talk to her and she commented on the fact that he was super thin, that he was fired from his job, that he was a boy who liked the things she liked . who wouldn't leave before giving her a big hug, if I'm not mistaken I saw that in Anne E. Schwartz's book his grandmother still didn't know why he was arrested... and about fish I read that in a book and I believe that it was by Brian Masters]

At the time he enlisted in the army his eyesight was really bad which would have only got worse as he got older. At the time of him being 18 his eyesight was:

Right eye: -5.50 Left eye: -5.25

He also had astigmatism.

He was obsessed with anatomically perfectly shaped bodies.

He loved aesthetics. That's why he literally trapped some of his victims as works of art or sculptures.

He had a carved figure representing the horned head of the satyr hanging above the window in the living room.

He liked plants. He liked dogs. He liked cats, not just his grandma's. His neighbour across the hall said that he often petted the cats on the stairs behind the house. When he was arrested, he howled like a cat, the cops testifed.

He bought a computer and wanted to learn the programming language. He lost interest in it. When he was fired from his job on 14 July 1991, he wanted to sell the computer.

Set multiple fires around age 12-13. Smoked weed he suspected was laced with “angel dust” “everything turned to shadows” (this was definitely during Highschool) Apparently his favourite place to eat at was Waffle House. my source is from a guy who is no longer active in the case but had legal access to unreleased audio tapes from a contract he had signed to work as an archivist on those Wendy tapes (conversation with a killer )

In 1982 his grandmother insisted him to visit Anonymous Alcoholics meetings and he went there for about a month and stopped going.

He owned a 700 $ lifetime membership at Vic Tanney Gym

Owned 14 VHS tapes

One of the books in his apt. was " Numerology and the divine triangle".

Was HIV positive when arrested, but not AIDS positive.

Did Dahmer have a TV in prison?

Yes, he did have a TV set later on. As far as I remember Boyle bought it for him.

Edit: I found the source. It's in an interview between JD and Mr. Jacobson, who represented some of the victims families. The interview is from November 1993. Dahmer had to list up everything he owns and has ever owned. He was asked how much worth the TV set is that he has in his cell, and he answers that he doesn't know since it was a gift. Jacobson asked who gave it to him and Dahmer said "Gerry Boyle".
