I reblog pictures of cats and add a caption fitting Cats. Main is Guyavot. Profile pic is Mr Smith, the cat I had for 3 days while I was vacationing with my parents (he was a stray near the guest house). Header is Shawarma my school's cat before the school moved location. If you don't want your cat here message me with a link to the post in question.
Something I haven’t really talked abt yet, but honestly, I love the way Demeter is characterized and the fandom’s(at least the circles I frequent’s) treatment of her.
She’s a character I can really connect with, as canonically (I use the term loosely) she struggles with anxiety throughout the show. However, she’s never really treated lesser for it by the other cats. Every time she thinks Macavity’s around, everyone takes her seriously, and they believe her when she wards everyone away from fake Deuteronomy.
But, her anxiety is not her central character. Yes she’s skittish the whole show, but she still sings a lot of songs, dances, and generally still has a great time throughout the Jellicle Ball. She’s also a lot more confident people give her credit for, if the Macavity song is anything to go off of. She’s still her own person.
Demeter’s anxiety is a part of her and acknowledged, but it’s not all she has to offer. At the same time, it’s not ignored and swept under the rug in favor of her other characteristics, as I tend to see fandom do with a lot of neurodivergent characters.
As someone who struggles a lot with anxiety, it feels really good to see a character so well loved for the way she is.
Do you know how hard it is to live with a cat that has the intelligence level of literally like a 3 year old but the pure chaos of a high ranking demon?
He’s learned to open the lazy Susan and won’t stop clawing open the flour and rolling in it like a little chinchilla
Tugger's and Misto's daughter got many qualities from her parents:
She got an affinity to heights from Misto
And an inability to learn from mistakes remember the bureau drawer? from Tugger
My husband has informed me that around 2-3am he woke up to muffled screaming and discovered that the cat had pulled open the Tupperware drawer and crawled inside, but her weight had closed the drawer and she was stuck inside and needed rescuing.
