Breakup, New Family Member, and Go Steady Wants/Fears Mod

This was made by a member of my community, Riftwalker, who graciously gave me permission to upload their edited version of the EA WantTrees.

THIS FILE DOES NOT GO IN YOUR MODS FOLDER.

This overwrites: The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Wants\WantTrees.package

What is this?

EA broke their 'Break Up' wants in vanilla Sims 2. This fixes it, along with other fixes:

Teen, Young Adult, Adult and Elder sims of all aspirations can get a want and a fear for Break Up.

Teen, Young Adult, Adult and Elder sims can get a want and a fear to Go Steady.

This is already possible, but Riftwalker added "True" so that teens of all aspirations (instead of just family) and children can get a want "New family member", which is cute and it's them basically saying they want a new sibling.

Teens can roll woohoo wants. (Credits to Syberpunk on MTS)

In one instance, Uni wants for all aspirations has been enabled, and in another instance, engagement and left at alter wants and fears for all aspirations is enabled.

Hair dump: 32 hairs for dudes (plus a couple for the ladies)

At last, a hair dump for dudes to complement my female hair dump, both using my new hair system (these textures (straight, wavy) coloured in some pooklet naturals: dynamite, depth charge, incendiary, pyrotechnic and mail bomb).  

All meshes are included (files renamed to remove special characters and spaces), binned and familied (greys linked to black), unused ages removed, files compressed.

So I tried out the hair system that @mikexx2 and @jellybeanery have worked on and ended up loving it so much. Thus I set out on defaulting as much hairs as I could.

Hair dump: 75 hairs for ladies

So, I mentioned some time ago that I’ve embarked on a new Maxis Match hair system for 2019- these textures (straight, wavy) coloured in some pooklet naturals: dynamite, depth charge, incendiary, pyrotechnic and mail bomb. 

Here are 75 of my favourite female meshes  for everyone to feast upon. Perfect if you want a new ready-made (super tidy and consistent) MM hair folder! All meshes are included (files renamed to remove special characters and spaces), binned and familied (greys linked to black), unused ages removed, files compressed.

Pink Soup Tip

hello gang. it's me. the guy who stopped playing because pink flashing on my nice gaming laptop made this thing unplayable (we're talking pink flash immediately upon loading a small lot). i've somehow stumbled my way into fixing it(?)

tldr; have you tried using Legacy's Graphics Rules.sgr file instead of using GRM?

that reddit is the only place i've seen anyone mentioning it, and after deleting my custom-tailored GRM and replacing it with legacy's EA-built version i literally don't have pink flashing anymore. i didn't edit it in any way but i removed dxvk (which overwrites your graphics card settings and hasn't helped me prior anyway) and i use the RPC launcher's no visualization mod (which doesn't help me with pink flash--it's just better on the eyes) and somehow i'm able to load and play lots without any pink.

other optimizations i've done afterwards that have further improved my performance:

forcing my laptop to always use Nvidia GPU

forcing Nvidia to use max settings (direct link to the mentioned MTS thread)

being selective with shaders. personally my laptop doesn't like Shader Fixes in combination with whatever else i have kicking (probably user error on my part for having conflicting shaders, but (personally) i like blue snow so i haven't done extensive testing to make it work). LD has his own version bundled with Lot Lighting Fix (but unfortunately it doesn't play with my lighting mod so I don't use it, but the option's there.)

(edit) deleting caches (via RPC upon load). i'm sure everyone already does this, but the few times i left my caches led to a slow load and almost immediate pink soup. i only mention this because i've seen some posts claim that *keeping* the caches helps, so try both options.

i know this isn't a revolutionary post, but as a guy who tried literally and i mean LITERALLY EVERYTHING to stop pink soup, the Legacy GR was a very unexpected small fix. i haven't updated my drivers or anything--but after using that and forcing Nvidia to use good settings, i've been able to use max settings, shadows, shaders, and load every lot on the same session with hundreds of objects. i don't want to jinx it but maybe you should try it.

New PC & Sims 2 Troubles

I’m in the same boat with gtx1080, seems sims 2 really doesn’t like nvidia and windows 10. The 4gb patch thing seemed to stop the frequent crashing for me but im still plagued with the pink flashing which eventually makes the game crash. I haven’t had time to test these possible fixes yet but maybe they might be worth a try? leefish.nl/mybb/sh…

Thanks for the link! I tried that memory leak fix AND also found a thread for fixing the flashing pink texture issue (I got it after installing the 4 Gb patch aswell) - after changing the texture memory on Graphic Rules, the flashing pink is gone and I’m able to load up atleast some lots without crashing! Haven’t done any stress testing for it yet, but I’ll play more later today and see if it still crashes at any point. So definitely, make sure the texture memory is set correctly on your Graphic Rules.sgr!

Вообще мне нравится внешность пришельцев в симс 2, но моя ксенофильская душа не приемлет пришельцев с волосами и требует, чтобы они были как можно меньше похожи на людей. Поэтому я пришельцев всегда рисую мега стремными, больше похожими на классических зелёных человечков. Ещё мне очень нравится фишка пришельцев с маскировкой из симс 4 (на меня повлиял сериал и комикс засланец из космоса), поэтому у меня появился шизо хедканон на то, что пришельцы, родившиеся на Земле (ну или как называется планета в симс) умеют маскироваться и скрывают свою сущность, чтобы внедриться в общество людей и конечно его уничтожить 😈

34 BG quaint sofa & living chair recolors

I used the Neutre Contemporain, Jungle, Impulsion, and Magnifigance palettes for the colors. They have a slight fabric texture. PSD included in case you need a cleaned base for your own recolors because why not sharing it. That’s it.

I'm a big fan of these versatile blinds from My First Pet, but EA only did ~two lighter colours and no white swatch. Classic!

Here are 28 recolours in Anna's colour palette—I skipped beige and black because the original swatches for those are quite nice.
