feeling like you need to prove you’re “really bisexual” by sleeping with/dating people of different genders

feeling like you’re not a full and equal member of the LGBT community unless you’re in a same sex relationship

feeling like any issues you might face because of your sexual orientation aren’t real or don’t count because bisexuals only have it “half as bad”

prioritising every other issue over bisexual activism because you don’t believe bisexuals deserve support, resources, respect or care as much as other minorities

A BLM AND GOVERNMENT SYSTEM RANT.

BLM AND THE "TREND" OF TIKTOK

A rant.

Recently, BLM has been wiped from everything. What we used to see is now being overshadowed by others. BLM and the protests for rights is being forgotten and used like some trend!! Gen Z was supposed to be the start of a REVELOUTION!

Now BLM is being forgotten or no longer talked about! Because of this. There have been more deaths than ever, and no cop is being bought to justice for their crimes.

Speaking of those awful pigs, one cop was bailed out of jail. That's right. They are now out and roaming and killing more than ever.

No one should judge anyone for their race! When I look at someone, I dont think of them as a "color". I think of them as a friend. We're all supposed to be helping each other in these horrid times. 2020 has been nothing but an awful year, countless of deaths. Murders left and right by our own justice system.

This cannot stand. And it will not stand. Gen Z, it's time to rise up and speak for what's right. Get the cops arrested for all the murders they have committed. Get them arrested for killing innocent people destroying innocent lives!

I thought America was supposed to be the land of the free. Nothing here screams "freedom" when people are being judged by their race. This is disgusting and needs to be talked about more. This will not stand.

All the officers that have killed, they need to be held accountable for their crimes.

It's time to wake the fuck up America. Open your eyes.

If you believe nothing is happening. Or this is just some stupid trend, hoax, something "little".

ACAB folks, ACAB. Don't tell me there is just a few "bad apples". The cops that are not speaking up of others wrong doings should also need to be held accountable.

Ugh that post has gotten me thinking about fat acceptance in a way I haven’t in years. I’ve read more studies about weight and health than probably any other topic I’ve ever researched. And every time I see someone wail about health I am just like

Did you know that in post-mortem examinations there is zero correlation between weight and levels of arteriosclerosis and related diseases found?

Did you know that people with an overweight BMI have the longest life expectancy, that those with an “ideal” and an “obese” have about the same life expectancy, and that being “underweight” raises mortality rates more than being “morbidly obese”?

Did you know that losing weight and then gaining it back is worse for your heart than remaining at the weight you started consistently?

Did you know that 95% of people who lose weight do gain it back, and there has never been a single documented weight loss program that has been demonstrated to keep the weight off for five years or more in the majority or even a significant minority of people? Like, telling people to lose weight isn’t much use if we don’t know HOW to make that happen.

Like I have read The Obesity Myth by Paul Campos and Rethinking Thin by Gina Kolata and Big Fat Lies by Glenn A Gaesser (Ph.D!) And Fat!So? and several other books that I don’t own and so don’t remember all of their names I spent like four years reading every single study coming out and looking at the methodology and noting which ones had huge holes or terrible methods and which didn’t (the holes were almost always in the pro-weight-loss studies) and like

Big Fat Lies has 27 pages of bibliography. 27 pages worth of scientific citation. The book content itself is only 197 pages. That’s a page of references for every 7 pages of book. Reading the book is just reference after reference and study after study. Most of these doctors (like Linda Bacon, author of Health at Every Size) started out the same way. They wanted to use the scientific method to find a real weight loss program or health solution that worked and could be proven to work, and so studied everything they could about weight and fitness only to find out that we didn’t need weight loss in the first place. That all the studies calling for it were lacking or nonexistent. That weight and underlying metabolic health have very little relation. That the history of our relationship with health and obesity has little basis in fact and a LOT of basis in capitalism, politics, and fashion. No, really, the association between weight and health was first proposed by insurance companies looking for ways to charge people more by claiming risk. They also charged tall and short people more. And people with different skin colors. When they got in trouble for charging people for things they had no control over and had no bearing on their health, they set out to prove that weight was controllable and that fat was unhealthy to make money. 

These are also a lot of the same people who went on to invent the President’s fitness program, so if you went to public school you probably already hate them. 

Anyway, if you want a place to start reading about the issue, this article is a pretty good launching pad.

Police officers shoot and kill Kid in Los Angeles: ‘He ran because he was scared’

Andrew Heney, owner of the Freeway autoshop, told a local CBS affiliate: “We had a security guard that was out front, because we had just had certain issues with people tagging and stuff like that.”

“And then the police came up, and they pulled their guns on him and he ran because he was scared, and they shot and killed him. He’s got a clean background and everything. There’s no reason.”

The sheriff’s department are claiming Andres Gyuardado had a gun but the autoshop owner and witness to the shooting says that’s absolutely not true he never carried a weapon and didn’t that night.

What’s even worse is that right after the shooting, the Store owner said the cops immediately destroyed all the surrounding security cameras, broke into the store, stole his DVR with the recordings, and then created an illegal warrant after doing all this. 

The shop owner also states he never called the police and doesn’t understand because “There was no reason for them to be there.”

On twitter I’m seeing dozens of threads from Black activists warning people against burnout, giving all sorts of useful tips about preventing and managing it for the sake of a long-term, sustainable effort.

On tumblr I’m seeing a hell of a lot of young white kids yelling at anyone who actually follows those steps, and acting like burnout is a moral falling rather than a well-proven psychological phenomenon.

Be careful who you get your information from. Don’t let guilt lead you to make choices that will harm both you and the movement.
