atla prequel novels are so much fun for me because the more recent avatars would question themselves and their methods, thinking "the great kyoshi and yangchen would never have stooped this low!"

but here we have avatar "legally a daofei" kyoshi and avatar "self-taught in espionage" yangchen, who still feel inadequate compared to their past lives. and as for the very first avatar? he was a homeless guy who defected from a spirit hunt! wan KNEW he wasn't worthy to host raava but she chose him anyway!

i'm sitting here just obsessing over how perfect it is that the harbinger of balance between worlds is, in nearly every case, someone who strikes that balance with their actions. fc yee just GETS it.

I feel like if anyone will know it’s you, so do you know how the Pokémon fandom decided Drew’s last name was Hayden? I know lots of the characters without official last names get their last names from their English voice actors, but I have no idea how Drew ended up with the last name Hayden (although it’s so commonly used sometimes I forget that’s not his official last name!)

It’s fanon! It traces back to an old Contestshipping fanfic on FFN that I can’t find… but I think it was titled something like “Love in La Rousse.”

One of my friends knew the author. I’ll contact her and ask.

thinking about that post of people assuming ao3 has an algorithm and also about how bonkers persistent the view is that ao3 is social media lite. like with startling regularity I get comments saying something along the lines of "it's probably weird to comment on a fic this old--" no it isn't!!!! this is an archive I am literally just assuming you searched for a selection of specific tags or sorted by kudos or looked back on my pseud or any other number of completely normal ways to use an archive site ?? kill the tiktok ghost in your brain and comment on old stuff it's NOT weird

One of the funniest things about enemies-to-lovers ships is how they’re almost always obsessed with each other. Like if a character actively chooses to interact with another character over and over again instead of simply ignoring them? Throw darts at it all you want, but you still printed out a picture of them to hang on your wall
