I’ve loved Jen since Starstruck days. I’m the kind of fan who can’t miss any of her shows on TV. At present, I’m still a fan but I can deal not watching her shows. On the other hand, I’ve loved Julie since Sugarpop days. Her talents really show even with a group back then. I knew from the start that she’s going to be a star, and now I believe that she already is.

I just noticed something… 

Their names both start with a letter J.

They are both born on the month of May.

They both have that filipina beauty.

They can play the guitar and piano.

They can sing very well.

IF there's one person who deserves a round of applause for every year that she has remained in the world of show business, that person would be Jennylyn Mercado.

Since Jen was proclaimed the Ultimate Survivor in the first season of the GMA-7 reality TV show Starstruck, she has been a constant topic in tabloids, gossip columns, entertainment magazines and talk shows. Her whirlwind of a life -from her days as an abused child to her adult romances, most notably with Mark Herras, Dennis Trillo and Patrick Garcia, with the latter fathering her child Alex Jazz (AJ) - has been repeatedly presented to the public. But what the public rarely sees is the other side of Jennylyn Mercado, the side that makes it possible for her to get back on her feet over and over again.

Jen is a determined fighter.If she wants to achieve something she will persist. She has successfully made a name for herself, raised a baby on her own and most recently brought her envious curves back as evidenced by the March 2011 issue of Women's Health Magazine, where she posed all toned and glowing as the cover girl.

After giving birth to AJ on August 16, 2008, Jen felt the need to get rid of her post baby fats to get ready for her projects. In the Women's Health article she revealed that she had stopped eating rice and had taken up cycling. " I was biking everyday kahit na umaga na ako makauwa from taping 6am ha, I had to ride kahit one hour lang. She is also an avid MMA (mixed martial arts)fan.

This girl has overcome the harshest of trials, emotionally and physically. It's hard to bring down a Jennylyn Mercado, whether figuratively or literally- especially if she becomes good at jiujitsu. Indeed the voters of Starstruck: Season 1 had foresight: She is really the Ultimate Survivor.
