EARTHQUAKE

Hello, my name is Jennifer Sinche and I am going to tell you about a catastrophic event that happened in the province of Manabí, an earthquake that occurred on April 16, 2016, where its epicenter was located between the parishes of Pedernales and Cojimíes.

 The event occurred at 6:58 pm, causing its inhabitants a great scare, the telluric movement was 7.8 degrees on the Richter scale, as a result an approximate number of 602 people died and more than 25,000 died. they were homeless. In addition, of the material damage where more than 1,125 destroyed buildings were recorded, including schools, hospitals and colleges.

There were also thousands of injured and displaced people, and as the hours passed, fears grew due to the situation of the people who were left homeless by the earthquake, the lack of drinking water and the diseases that may arise.
