Project Safe

Project: SAFE (Self-defense and Awareness for a Fear - free Environment) is a project aimed to teach students, rotaractors, and young professionals of the basic self defense and danger awareness that they can use on a daily basis. This project was planned after a series of cases being reported happening around CDO. With the continued fear of safety looming around especially at night, being aware of your surroundings and the ability to protect oneself must come in first.

The goal of the project is to engage students to be meticulous in their environment, especially with freedom in social media; and learn the theories and actual skills needed to defend themselves in unpredicted attacks.

Through the project, participants will learn about various self-defense techniques, such as how to use pepper spray, how to strike vulnerable areas, and how to defend against chokes and holds. They will also learn about danger awareness, including how to recognize potential threats and how to avoid dangerous situations.

The project will also feature guest speakers who have experience in self-defense, as well as law enforcement officials who will provide insight on the current situation in CDO.
