“Applying CARP can help you put together an interface so that it is reasonably attractive.”

Example of how CARP is applied in Google Maps:

Contrast - The contrast between primary action vs. secondary action.

Alignment - All buttons are right aligned within map.

Repetition - The style applied to categories is repeated throughout. (Red background, white icon, grey label)

Proximity - The different modes of transportation to get to destination and the time it takes to commute by that mode is listed immediately under destination.
