Chapter 4

Time flies so fast and it was already time for the concert. You haven’t interacted with any members for the past days due to busy schedule. It was around noon time and you were already at your station with Eunsoo and other paramedics. A lot of people were already at the venue, and a few of them have already visited your booth due to some fainting spells, some was due to dehydration. You were not new to fainting patients but the size and the amount of people in venue just shocked you.

 “Have you experienced being the first aid before?” asked Eunsoo

You shake your head to agree.

 “I have been one, but to just some small events, not this big of a crowd.”

  “ Well the concert is still not starting, this is not even the whole crowd, wait till the concert starts.” Eunsoo explained.

 When the concert started, goosebumps were felt. You even shed a tear when the first note of Glitch Mode played, you can’t help but let out the inner Nctzen in you. Beside you the whole stadium screamed with excitement. Finally seven dream is on the stage. You were in the verge of balling your eyes knowing what hardships these boys had to gone through just to be on that stage right now. You felt really proud seeing them up there on the stage. Thinking; I am genuinely thankful that I spent my youth with these boys right here. You felt their happiness radiating on the stage as they were performing.   You hummed with the songs, but deep inside you really wanted to scream with the crowd.  It was your first concert and it was just thrilling .It’s a bummer that you need to be professional.

 The concert is still ongoing and you are jamming with the crowd silently. You almost forgot that tyou were working when the radio in your booth started rattling.

 “paramedics” “there is one civilian who fainted in the 2nd floor, we are escorting her to you”

“got it” you answered, as you prepared the things needed for the patient.

 When the patient arrived to your booth you checked for her consciousness and thankfully she is awake. You started checking her vitals and she was showing signs of fatigue so you gave her some water and told her to rest for a bit.

 After a few minutes the patient stood up and told you that she wants to get back to her seat. At first you want to stop her but she was persistent so in the end you let her go.

 Halfway through the concert and a few more patients were sent to your booth.  None of them were serious and all of them went back to their seats once given the first aid that they needed. You and Eunsoo were taking turns at checking on the patients coming. You are sure the other booth was also busy receiving patients.  But despite being busy you still jammed with the boys. Like who would not? Their songs are a bop, it can make you weep your eyes out and at the same time make your heart flutter. These boys are just amazing. Despite working you really are enjoying every bit of  the concert like you were just there casually and not to work.  

 Encore was the next stage and you were also taking a break since no patient was escorted to your booth. You were spacing out from the tiredness then suddenly mark went on the stage. Beatbox is now the current song meaning you’re already near the end of the concert, you were just as excited as the rest of the crowd. Haechan and Jeno popped out of nowhere, then the rest of the members came. The crowd went wild when the first note of the song played. Once the song to an end the members are now saying their ment.

  Tears were shed in when the members started to thank everyone. The fans whaled when it was Mark’s turn. You being a big fan wanted to weep your eyes. While he was talking you can’t help but reminisce the time that you were in high school and NCT Dream was your anchor. They were friends that you shared like a somewhat same problems. Especially the time of your graduation, like Mark you will also need to leave your friends in your province to study in a different school. Goodbye was the hardest word to say back then. There was just so much attachment that you have with them. Till this day you cry when you here “Beautiful Time”. Their words just touched your heart to the core that you told  yourself I’m with this kids till the end. And as the years go by you not realizing that you are also growing with them. Not only physically but also you’ve become much more mature. You’ve come to see problems in a different light. You may be busy with your life but on the side notes you still check on NCT and support them silently. Looking at them right now on stage made you a lot more emotional. Thinking to yourself, “guys, we made it!”

 The concert ended like people went to a bittersweet movie. Some where crying, some were smiling but for sure everybody enjoyed what the boys have prepared for the fans. You were touched when you saw the confetti that filled the venue. The effort to write those notes on the confetti was the cherry on top.

 The concert is really tiring not just for the members but also for you staff. Even though the concert ended some people were still brought to your booth. A lot of them were fatigued. You thinking that the adrenalin from the concert have now exited their bodies leaving them feeling tired. You were checking the vital sign of one patient when you were asked to escort one patient to the exit.

  “you okay with this y/n?.” asked one of the staff

“hey its okay, its part of the job.” y/n answered and helped the patient carry herself.

 When you’ve made sure the patient can go home safely you went back to the venue using a different exit. You were half running when suddenly you saw a familiar silhouette.

  “sora!” y/n shouted. You were surprised to see her in the concert. People her age is not uncommon in these places but seeing her here just shocked you.

“y/n! I missed you dear.” sora said while reaching for your cheeks to kiss you. She really treats you like her own grand daughter.

“but we just saw each other last week.”

“meaning that was last week’s news.”

you laughed, “so what brings you here granny?”

“I’m here to see my grandson.”

“So your mysterious grandson is working in this stadium?”

Sora shook her head. “he works in the same company as you”

“And all this time you did not tell me? In what department is he? HR? Finance?”

Sora was about to answer when somebody called her in a sing song voice

“Granny! Did you enjoy the concert?”

You turned around and saw sora’s daughter in law wrapped in someones arms. When you looked up and saw that the man was Na Jaemin.

“hey missy, I do not work in HR or in finance I’m more on the physical aspect” jaemin told you and bursted laughing.

Your jaw dropped when you connected the dots.

Chapter 3

   Nct dream’s concert was right around the corner that is why most of the people in the company is busy. Fainting spells are everywhere during concerts so you and eunsoo was not excused to the chaos, both of you were told to be stationed at the concert venue as part of the paramedics.  Haechan although busy managed to squeeze his questions during one of their breaks when you had to refill ice bags in the fridge.

 “so where are you from?”

 “i am from the Philippines I  just moved here.”

 “age?”

  “ a year younger than you are”.

 “now its your turn to ask”

 “if I wanted to know answers about you, I could’ve used the internet.”

 Haechan chuckled to your reply. “ but a lot of things there are not true though.”

 “then I should verifying these things to you then”

 And both of you laughed.

 Since this conversation you got a lot closer to them, maybe because of your ages. You are close with Mark and haechan given that they are in the infirmary most of the time. You and jeno casually tell jokes to each other. Renjun gives you words that would touch your heart. While you bicker with chenle and jisung, but jaemin was reluctant towards you. Other members said that he’s just like that but he’ll warm up soon.

 While being busy you still did not miss the chances to have lunch with Sora. The both of you got close and even met her daughter in law one time, but still you did not get the chance to know who this grandson is, who she always describes with awe.

 One day while preparing for the concert you were asked to bring some of the medical supplies in the concert venue. After placing the supplies at the medic’s station you at took a glimpse of the ongoing practice.

 Jeno waived when he saw you watching. While Haechan called your name. You smiled at them and told them to continue with the practice. You can really tell that they are enjoying what they are doing.  These boys really treat each other like family. They look like kids playing on stage. This is why you really liked nct even way back then without meeting them. They look so genuine even on camera. You found comfort in them especially in times when you struggled with studies, indeed you found home to these seven boys in front of you.

 While you were reminiscing, jaemin took a glimpse of you and smiled, though you did not see it. Jaemin is really reluctant towards women except for his mother and grandmother, the members told you this. He is really a gentleman, but you had never seen him talking to any girls. But the other members told you that he really rarely speaks the only exemption is when he’s weirdness pops out of nowhere. So instead of giving it too much of a thought you just shrugged it off.

 The concert is now fast approaching and everyone is here and there. Final touches to the stage were being finalized. Blockings and choreographies are being polished. While you and Eunsoo were finishing putting medical supplies in the back stage and the booth. While everyone was being handed coffee, you saw Jaemin in some corner and he was the only one not holding a cup, so you went to him and handed him coffee.

 “here.”

“thanks.”

“you’re really a man of few words”

 Jaemin replied with a smile.

  “figured out that you wont talk to me.” you laughed “but i think you are worried with the concert approaching. I’m telling you, you guys are doing such an amazing job! I’m not saying this to flatter you or anything this is just really how I observed you guys these past few weeks.”

  “you guys are really doing a job well done,  and I’m really proud of you guys. I don’t want to sound like a fan girl but I really am. So let me say these as a fan who had been with you for the past years, I am really happy and proud of what you guys have become, all those tears, laughter and pains were worth it. You guys have really been through  a lot, and I witnessed those dark times. But seeing you guys smiling and laughing like this I am thankful for those days because you’ve grown a lot. So if you are worrying right now, please shrug that off because through this concert we are celebrating seven dream. Just have fun and us the audience will feel the same.”

  Jaemin was silent throughout your speech. And then weirdly he grinned like the chesire cat. Then he started laughing. Which left you dumbfounded

  “I was here sitting to rest a bit, and now I got this pep talk.” he busrsted laughing.  “mark would’ve really liked your speech, can you repeat that what you just said. I bet jisung will also cry. Kidding aside I really appreciate what you just said.”

  “oh my gosh, I’s such a blabber mouth, I’m really sorry for the unwanted pep talk.” you felt so  ashamed and stood up.

  Jaemin grabbed you by your wrist tp stop ypu.

  “hey, there’s no need to be ashamed, I thought I didn’t need that talk but what you just said gave me more reason to continue what I love, thank you for that.” jamein smiled and left.

  He was already a few steps away when he turned around and said, “you’re a fan huh,” which he said sheepishly and continued walking.

  Which made you realized what you just said. You stood there looking at him blankly.

Chapter 1

Entering your dream building for the first time not as tourist but as an employee felt ecstatic. Being able to work with the artist that you admire so much felt surreal.

 Today was your 1st day at work as the company’s nurse. The tall SM building now known as kwangya was just magical. You were hired as the temporary replacement for one of their company nurses as one of them was on her pregnancy leave.  

 As you head to the HR to gather your company ID and to be briefed for the job you were just in awe seeing big screens showing music videos of their artists.

  “good morning miss y/n.” the head of the HR said as you entered her office which you bowed in response.  

 “as today is your first day at work someone will escort you to the infirmary. There are some rules I’d like to remind you, the artists privacy is our priority in here so whatever happens within the walls of this company stays within. Pictures or whatever form of media of our employees/artist should not be distributed. Another is that you are not allowed to leak any media related to the artists work.  I trust you that you will abide by this. You can be friendly with the other employees here. That is all for now your coworkers would tell you the rest while you’re here.” She explained.

 “Here is your company ID. You cannot enter the facilities in here without that so do not loose it! One of the employee will take you to the infirmary, she is waiting outside. Good day!” as she said her goodbye.

 Strolling through the halls of kwangya you cannot stop admiring the place from how huge it is, not only that the architecture is amazing. The artist that you admire are pinned to walls, their achievements are displayed, albums are everywhere. You cannot help but feel proud of these artists that you’ve admired so much.  

 “I had the same look on my face when when I first entered these halls” said your fellow employee.

 “brace yourself you might be lucky and see these artists in person. And I am telling you you will enjoy your stay here.” she added.

 “now this is you, I hope you enjoy kwangya!”. she said and left.

 “hi! I’m kim eun soo. I’m also a company nurse here. Alongside miss park that you temporarily replaced.  So we start at 10 am and end at 7 pm. There’s nothing much to do here just check on inventory which are just medicines that the artists use and some bandages. Other than that artists usually come here if they feel discomfort but usually when they have cramps or sprains. If it’s a serious injury we refer it to the hospital. If there is something you need to know don’t hesitate to ask me.” your co league briefed you.

 “so hi! Im y/n so glad to meet you! I look forward with working with you!” you replied.

 “there’s nothing much to do here just check on the inventory, check the artists health records and sometimes bandage some sprains here and there.” she added.  

 “so when was the last time it was busy in here” y/n asked.

“oh, when chenle sprained himself. Everyone was ballistic! Especially it was during there promotions” eun soo answered.

  “good thing that chenle was professional he had a note from the doctor to take a rest but insisted on doing the promotions”

 “yeah, I’ve read that. That is so nice of him” you replied as you fix your things on your new table, thinking not bad for a new workplace.

 “I think NCT is preparing for their concerts and comebacks so I think they’ll be here sometime after practice or what.” eunsoo informed.

 It was quarter to 7:00 when eunsoo started to gather her things and leave work, which you did the same. Both of you exited the company and waited for the bus.

 “my bus is here! I’ll leave first” said eunsoo.

 Which you replied with a faint smile and a nod. “see you tomorrow” you added.

 While waiting for the bus you saw an old woman being bullied by teenagers from afar, you went and shouted, “hey! Don’t you have something better to do?!”  

 “whatever” they replied and laughed while walking away.

  “hey! Come back here! We are not finished!”

“let them go dear, I fell because I tripped, they just took my lunch box, I was going to surprise my grandson with that” the old woman said.

 “well you should not be out by yourself, I know you ca handle yourself well but people nowadays are dangerous”

 “well you are not sweetie, its too bad I cannot give my grandson my home cooked meal“

 “well, do you want to buy him a food from the nearby restaurant? I’ll accompany you.”you offered.

“ no, thanks dear, my grandson hasn’t visited me in a long time and wanted to surprise him.”

 “well you can still surprise him though.”

 “I’ll just go home dear, I don’t want him to worry about tonight.”

 “well let me bring you home then.”

 “no need dear, I might be old but I can still manage.”

 “then atleast allow me to keep you company you while you wait for your bus.”

  “okay, deary. I haven’t thanked you properly yet, let me treat you lunch next time.” while saying this the both of you exchanged numbers.

 You chatted a bit going to the bus stop and both waited for your buses.  Their you knew that her name was Na Sora. Her bus arrived and then you waved good bye. “well that was an unusual 1st day”.

Chapter 2

   The week just flew buy with checking with the inventory and replacing the ice packs in the fridge. True to what eun soo said, a lot of nct members was going in and out of the infirmary due to cramps. You also got to talk to some of the members. You grew close to mark lee just because. Not only that eun soo was fun to work with, there was no dull moment with her.

Another day at the infirmary just like the usual when one of NCT’s manager came in with mark and haechan. The both of them were severely dehydrated so they had an IV  inserted.

 “I guess you guys are a regular here huh?” you asked.

 “it’s the time of the year.” haechan answered in a sing song voice.

 “so in what unit are you busy right now?” you asked as you start to insert the needle.

 “127.” mark replied while flinching.

 “you guys stay here for an hour or so until your drops finish.” eunsoo instructed.

 “while you guys are here, rest please.” you tell them and cleaned the materials you used.

 “so y/n we noticed that you’re not from here, where are you from?” haechan asked “didn’t I just told you to rest? Regain your energy then you can ask questions later.” you scold him and went to check his iv bag.

 Haechan was about to open his moth and when you said

 “sleep now questions later.” that earned you a chuckle from him and you closed his curtains.

 An hour passed and the two of them was awake, their manager went to check on them and told them they need to be back to the practice room because they had to practice with the nct dream members.

They got up and said their thanks. You smiled at them sadly knowing how tired they are with their schedule.

“ poor boys looks like they need a long rest.” you said.

 “you know those two are really passionate with their jobs. I often see them here but I never once heard them complain.” praised eunsoo.

 “well I can really see that.”

  As time goes nct was really busy with nct dream’s concert preparation and with nct 127’s ongoing world tour, wayv is also preaparing for a comeback. Other sm artist are gearing fort heir comebacks as well.  The fastest schedule approaching is nct dream’s concert. This is their 1st concert as 7 members and they wanted it to go smoothly. One evening while preparing for dinner one of nct dream’s manager came in.

 “I think my blood pressure just rose up.” he informed you.

 Quickly you got up and assisted him to sit.

 “sit here and let me get you a glass of water.” a few minutes after he drank the water you checked his blood pressure and confirmed that it was really high. You gave him an emergency drug.

 “now sir, I need you to rest here a bit until your blood pressure returns to normal.”

“but I need to buy the boys their coffee, their on their diet and the least I can do for them is bring them coffee.”

 “I’ll get them coffee, you really need to rest, Eunsoo keep on eye in him I’ll go to buy those coffee.”

 “thank you y/n! I highly appreciate this, you can take the company card its in the pocket of my jacket. Go get yourself a drink.”

“Eunsoo, you want something?”

 “iced latte please.” Eunsoo responded.

 You nodded and proceed to take the card and wore your jacket. A few minutes later you came back to the company holding drinks on both your hands. You went straight to the elevator and pressed the floor to the dance studio. As you entered you heard shoes screeching on the floor. You opened the door and was welcomed by a scream from chenle.

  “ everyone coffee is here!”

  “somebody give jaemin his coffee before he loses more of his sanity.” jeno said.

 “his sanity?! I lost mine already because of him.” heachan butted.

 “its because you keep on teasing him.” jisung answered.

“haechan you’re such a pain in the ass.” renjun said.  

 “a cutie kind of pain.” haechan replied in which he received a smack from renjun.

 “kids! Enough!” mark shouted.  

 “ can we for once get coffee without the chaos?, oh!  y/n thank you for getting us coffee.”

 “no worries, your manager’s blood pressure rose so I volunteered to get your drinks.”

 “how is he?”

 “he’s resting in the infirmary right now, he’ll be fine.” you told him.

  “well miss y/n I still don’t have answers for my questions.” haechan butted.

 “well mister you have busy schedules and I don’t want to waste your precious time.”

 “well that is not fair we had a deal.”

 “you’ll get your answers when you have time right now you’re fully booked.” y/n said.

 While inside talking with haechan and mark you observed the other members. Not everyone knows but you’ve got this huge crush on jeno. You’ve been dying to scream “I love you NCT” since the first day in your new job. These boys are really chaotic like what you see on the internet. You can’t help but smile. You see jeno and jaemin drinking their drinks while talking. Chenle, renjun and jisung are bickering, while mark and haechan are talking about something in front of you.

 “well I need to head back. See you when I see you. And please you two I don’t want to see you in the infirmary always.” you said pointing to mark and haechan. You waved goodbye and went your way.
