Jesse had grand plans for the night, really. Rachel was out with Tina, the latter needing a girls night out after everything and for once, Jesse couldn’t actually blame her for wanting a little down time. Besides, the baby would be in Mike’s perfectly capable hands, surely his nerves about becoming a dad weren’t quite as bad now that he actually was one. With a smile, he settled down on the couch, propping his feet up on the table (because he could only actually do that when Rachel was out of the house), sipping from a glass of red wine and sticking a hand into a small bag filled with healthy snacks. He was about to enjoy a musical movie marathon, but as his phone vibrated – he could see his plans for the evening were thwarted.
An SOS from Mike had to be incredibly important – and besides, Mike was alone with Baby Chang (who was, in fact, named Joey, but Jesse still had issues saying that and instead preferring calling the baby for Baby Chang, at least, mentally). Jesse felt briefly worried for a second, wondering if the baby was alright, before he quickly pulled on his coat and rushing out the door, making his way towards Mike’s apartment. He arrived shortly afterwards, quirking an eyebrow as soon as he got close, since he was pretty sure that sound had to be a child crying – but surely it couldn’t be Baby Chang, whenever Tina had been around with the little wonder (who was, Jesse grudgingly admitted to Rachel, quite cute) he had been practically a saint. With a set of lungs like that, Jesse wondered whether Joey would eventually be a great singer and a potential rival – though he shook his head quickly, heading upstairs and meeting Sebastian standing in front of the door.
Jesse smiled a little, the grimace on his face mostly because of the very loud crying, then greeted Sebastian. “So the Three Musketeers are once more gathered to face… whatever his SOS is about.” Jesse gestured at the door, “Though going by the sound, Mike’s either attempting to train his vocal chords incredibly early or he is, in fact, trying to kill the child. Let’s rescue him, shall we?”
Three Men and a Baby || Jikebastian
When Mike had sent Tina on her way to have a girls night out with Rachel, he’d thought it would be easy. Joey would be in bed, and he’d be able to have a night in front of the TV, maybe a beer or two, and then he’d look like a hero when Tina come home. But that wasn’t the case, no soon as Tina had left Joey had started crying, like he was testing Mike, taunting him almost, because what the fuck was he supposed to do now? He picked him up, rocking him like he’d seen Tina do so many times, but unlike with Tina, Joey just seemed to get louder and louder. He’d found one of his bottles, tried to give him that, but it was like he didn’t want to know.
He tried everything, but nothing seemed to be working with this kid, it was like he was possessed or something, and Mike was sure that if he didn’t stop soon then he was going to start crying soon, and that was something that he never did. But fuck, Tina made this look so easy, so why wasn’t this working for him? Continuing to rock Joey, he managed to pick up his phone and with one hand sent out a distress call to the only two people he could think of, two people who he knew wouldn’t go running off to Tina that he couldn’t cope. Jesse and Sebastian were his only hope, he couldn’t easily called Blaine, but he couldn’t risk any of this getting back to his girlfriend, he knew he’d never be trusted ever again. He was a dad, he was supposed to be able to handle this!
SOS my place, now!

Jesse felt more than a little uncertain of how to proceed. On one hand, he would always be willing to give Rachel whatever she needed or required in order to make her happy, to ensure that she would keep staying happy, but… she wanted space? Jesse didn’t understand it, not truly – why they couldn’t just talk this over and why exactly she had to leave, he couldn’t quite comprehend it, which was why he kept standing in front of her, effectively blocking the doorway and keeping Rachel inside. At the same time, a rational part of him knew that if she just got a little bit of time to cool down, she’d return and they could go over this and actually talk instead of shouting and another rational part of him knew she had a point – but watching her go, only for a few hours, was still a little more than he could handle.
Swallowing roughly, he finally nodded and stepped aside – she was just leaving for a little while, right? It wouldn’t be like… she wouldn’t stay away for days on end, that wasn’t Rachel. Jesse knew this. Yet still, he couldn’t help but feel a little scared of just that – having never truly had a relationship before, he hadn’t truly had a fight with a person he loved before either and it was all more than just a little unsettling. “Okay,” he finally breathed, hanging his head a little and stepping away, “Okay. I’ll… I’ll see you soon?” He finished his sentence with a question, though he didn’t expect an answer, not really – before he stepped back into the living room, figuring that now their night was practically wasted and they wouldn’t be spending it together, he could either get drunk or start cleaning up their mess – or possibly both things at once.
The Mess We’ve Made || St. Berry
“No, maybe not on purpose, but the fact is that you did. When do I get to have a break huh? When do I get to chance to put my feet up?” Rachel snapped, having an argument tonight wasn’t exactly on the top of her to do list tonight, she wouldn’t have minded being able to come home and sleep like Jesse had, but no, like always she couldn’t do that because she had too much to do. It was as if Jesse didn’t understand any of that. They’d known Senior year would be tough on them, what with juggling a job with their college work, but it was taking such a big toll on them that now they were fighting with each other more than they ever had before.
“Well, I’m not exactly dressed for staying in, am I?” she scoffed, rolling her eyes as he was quick to point out the obvious. Her eyes narrowed as he stepped in front of her, and she folded her arms in front of her chest, “It’ll help me, because I really don’t want to be here right now,” She knew that if she stayed, then things would escalate and she really didn’t want to say something she’d live to regret, and she’d thought that Jesse would feel the same. “No, I just need some space, can you please just give me that?”

Jesse couldn’t help but bristle at Rachel; she was just being so incredibly unfair right now! True, he had fallen asleep and had missed out on cleaning up and cooking dinner which, yes, he had promised to do, but it was an accident! Why couldn’t she see that? “Rachel, come on, it was an accident! It’s not like I did any of this on purpose!” He tried to defend himself, although he was soon enough getting to the point where he was getting really ticked off – and it somehow oddly reminded him of the times where they had just met – before he was pulled back into the moment, by Rachel storming past him.
He followed her into their hallway, licking his teeth in annoyance when she announced that she was going out, which – no way. “You’re going out?” He asked in disbelief, quickly stepping in front of her, so he could block the door a little because… she couldn’t just leave. “You can’t just leave now, come on, how is that supposed to help with anything?” Jesse looked at her and shook his head, what was up with her today – yeah, so he had made a mistake, but he was willing to correct it and everything. “Just go sit down on the couch, or catch a nap, I’ll take care of the rest since you’d obviously rather go out to dinner than give me a hand with anything at home, but that’s fine, it’s my mistake – but don’t just… go?” Jesse said, a small hint of frustration in his voice.
The Mess We’ve Made || St. Berry
Rachel huffed loudly as Jesse replied to her like that, she was just so sick of this, yes they both had very demanding lives, and of course it meant that sometimes things had to be pushed aside for a little while, but she still didn’t think it was fair that he was able to come home and sleep and wait for her to come home before even thinking about cleaning up. Despite that she hadn’t had a chance to sit down much all day, that was what she was most annoyed about. “Okay, you know what? Fine. You want to sleep, you want to catch up on much needed sleep, then you do that!” she snapped, quickly rifling through her closet to find something else to wear, the quicker she was out of this uniform and out of these damn boots, the better.
She changed into a pair of jeans and loose fitting shirt, picking up her phone and slipping it into her back pocket. “It wasn’t like you asked, you just expected me to come home and start cleaning, because you’ve been working all day, god forbid that I’ve been doing the exact same thing!” She pushed past him, rolling her eyes barely able to look at him as she picked up her keys from the side, making sure that she had some money on her, before making a beeline towards the front door, “I’m going out, and don’t wait up, though I don’t think you’ll have much problem with that, since you obviously have trouble staying awake, you’ve had such a long day after all,”

Jesse frowned as he looked over at Mike, shaking his head. “I do not sound like a girl! And it wasn’t lame, Mike, it was how I feel and I can’t help it if you’re too much of a caveman to be in touch with your feelings,” Jesse scoffed, though he listened to his friend as he kept going on – about how hooking up with Santana and Tina were two completely different things and well, Jesse supposed that Mike was trying to say the same thing as he just had been – just in a very, very different way. “Although you’re not quite as eloquent with your words as I am, I think you’re trying to say the same thing. It just feels right with Tina, so… who needs anything else, right?” Jesse flashed at bright smile towards Mike and he could have sworn there were two Mikes for a second – which, yeah okay, maybe it was just time to crash sometime soon.
A thought he put forward to Mike; “So while I am the host and I am not meant to be rude as such… nor am I meant to get drunk, but I do think that happened.” He said with a little slur, unable to help the giggle that followed and yup – he was definitely gone if he had started to fucking giggle. “I do think it’ll be time to crash soon, since, I don’t know about you, but having a massive hangover tomorrow wasn’t one of my plans.” Jesse did, however, have a feeling that that was exactly what was going to happen – though he had at least had a pretty brilliant night. “You’re welcome to crash on the couch of course, otherwise I’m calling you a cab because you can’t possibly go home when there’s two of you.” Jesse said with a confused look, because yup – now there were two Mikes again – that was just weird.
Tell Me Your Troubles || St. Chang
Mike frowned at Jesse, or at least he thought he was frowning, it was getting really hard to tell what his body was doing right now. “Dude, I’m totally not drunk, you’re just kind of blurry right now, that’s all,” Mike shrugged, waving his hand in the air slightly, before giving up because it was just too much effort for him right now. “But, I swear, I’m going to remember this, for real like, and then I’ll totally be there in the back of you hear, saying I told you so,” Mike grinned smugly, leaning back a little in his seat.
Mike shrugged his shoulders a little when Jesse said that, because maybe he had a good point, he could just sort of forget about it and carry on as normal, “Yeah, yeah, that’s it, fuck everyone else, who cares about getting married anyway!” Mike announced loudly, punching his hand in the air, because things had already started moving too fast for him, he didn’t need to add anything else to that. They were perfectly fine as they were, even Tina said so! He stared at Jesse as he started going on about soulmates and whatever, and he arched an eyebrow at him, letting his words linger for a moment, before finally opening his mouth to speak again, “Dude, that has got to be the lamest thing you’ve ever said, you sound like a girl!” he scoffed, running his fingers through his hair, “But yeah, I mean, I don’t know if I’d put it quite like that, but it’s different with Tina, like when I hooked up with Santana, it just felt weird, I mean it wasn’t awful, because fuck dude, but it was like there was something missing,”

Jesse clenched his jaw a little when Rachel retorted with the fact that he couldn’t cook – and yes, while it was pretty much true, at least he was trying! And the last few times he had tried, he at least hadn’t managed to set off the fire alarm, so that was progress at the very least, wasn’t it? “Well fine, then you cool and I’ll clean – if we split it up it at least won’t take as long as it would have, right?” He replied, still standing in the doorway and looking at Rachel as she changed out of her work uniform. While he understood why she was angry with him, because really, he shouldn’t have overslept and yes, he should have gotten at least started on everything – it had been a complete accident and accidents happened, right? It was human to screw it up every once in a while – so Jesse was completely flabbergasted as to why she couldn’t just… calm down a little.
He felt quite stung by her words now, honestly, it had been an accident! What she said was true, obviously – he should have done all those things, but, he had forgotten to set the alarm – it wasn’t like it was the end of the world. “Come on Rachel, it was an accident! I meant to set the alarm clock but I obviously forgot about it – it’s not like I did it on purpose, you know I like this place being clean as much as you do.” He defended himself, folding his arms across his chest now and looking a little bit annoyed by how she just… kept on going, like he was doing this all on purpose. “But you know what, fine. You go and get some rest, watch some TV, I’ll take care of everything because god forbid I ask you for help.” He said a little prissily, jutting his chin out a little. “Instead of insisting on attacking me, we could’ve been done by now.” Jesse muttered underneath his breath as he turned around.
The Mess We’ve Made || St. Berry
Rachel was finding it really hard to not snap at Jesse right now, although she could feel herself becoming more and more sarcastic with him, but that was mostly because she was so exhausted, and all she’d wanted to do was rest a little, but even that wasn’t going to happen now, because she had to come home and start over again in making sure that the apartment was clean and tidy, it just didn’t seem very fair to her. “Oh really, then how is it then, enlighten me?” Rachel asked, placing her hands firmly on her hips waiting for him to give her some sort of better answer than the one he was preaching right now, because she wasn’t buying it again for a second.
Rachel huffed loudly as Jesse followed through to the bedroom, because he never seemed to understand this part where she just wanted to be on her own. So she quickly spun around to face him, her eyes narrowing in on him. “Right, so I’ll do the cleaning, again, an then have to into the kitchen and clean up your mess and have to prepare us something, because in case you’ve forgotten, you can’t actually cook!” Rachel stated, doing her best keeping her frustration in check, she was too tired or an argument, but honestly if Jesse didn’t back off soon, then that was exactly what was going to happen. She started to change out of her uniform while he answered her, sighing at the thought of the amount of laundry that was piling up, which she was sure would be a job that she’d have to do as well. “Can you even hear yourself?” She asked, glancing back at him over her shoulder as she pulled on a more comfortable shirt and a pair of jeans. “It wouldn’t have been unreasonable if you’d have at least started some of the things that needed doing around here, before you fell asleep, but you didn’t, now it’s going to take us twice as long, but it doesn’t matter does it, because you’ve been able to rest for a few hours, it doesn’t matter that I’ve been on my feet all day as well,”

Jesse practically shook with laughter, Mike was so confident that Rachel would be scary once she was pregnant which – yeah, Jesse wasn’t worried in the slightest, Rachel would be even more lovely then than she was now, of that he was sure. He raised a hand to point his finger at Mike while shaking his head, “You’re not even going to remember this conversation when we get to that point,” Jesse slurred, “Because you’re drunk, Mike. But I’m going to remember and then I’m going to be one who’s going to be laughing at you, that I swear!” Jesse exclaimed quite pompously.
“So don’t think about it?” Jesse asked, leaning forward a little to grab the bottle of wine and take another sip directly from the bottle because – well, whatever, he was past caring right this minute anyway. “If this… whatever you have with Tina,” Jesse was proud of himself for actually using her name now, instead of calling her she-demon or whale, honestly. “If it’s meant to last then it’s meant to last, right?” He said, hiccupping slightly, “Marriage doesn’t change that, you’ll get there when you get there and if you get there.” He slurred happily, smiling a little as he leaned back in the couch, nodding at Mike’s question, “Of course to Rachel. I’ve been with other women before, but nothing, ever as serious as with her. It’s like…” Jesse searched for words as he glanced over at Mike again, tapping his chin, “It’s like, the whole soulmate thing, you know? I never believed it, but sometimes I kind of do now, because I can’t see myself with anyone but her. She’s perfect,” Jesse breathed, smiling in that silly way he did when he thought about her. “I’m sure you feel the same about… Tina, don’t you?”
Tell Me Your Troubles || St. Chang
Mike scoffed, he couldn’t wait until Jesse got Rachel pregnant, then he was going to sit back and laugh at his friends misery, because that was what a good friend did, right? “Sure she is, dude,” Mike laughed, and it probably wasn’t as funny as he thought it was, but right now he was more than a little drunk and so everything seemed hilarious. But, Jesse was totally as drunk as he was right now, so it totally didn’t matter. “I’m gonna remember this, and then like, when you turn up, all like, confused and fucked over, I’m totally going to remind you of this, because I’m telling you dude, pregnant ladies? Scary as fuck!”
He grunted a little as he tried to style out his little slip up, just sort of slumped against the chair now as he turned his head to look at his friend, attempting to roll his eyes when Jesse laughed at him, because that wasn’t cool at all. Whatever. “I mean, dude, it’s not like, I don’t ever want to get hitched and whatever, but like, I’m not even 20 yet, you know, I shouldn’t be thinking about all this,” It was really starting to make his head hurt, like he could totally see him being with Tina for the long haul, and like when they were older and shit, they’d probably get married, but right now, it just seemed to far away. “Yeah? To who, Rachel?” Mike asked, figuring he’d better ask now, because for all he knew, Jesse could have his eye on someone else, and he didn’t want to get that wrong, because that would be kind of embarrassing.

Well, so clearly Rachel was quite mad, Jesse could easily tell by the way she turned her face away from him when he went to kiss her cheek which – well, that hardly ever happened. It was more than a little rare and it just spoke volumes to Jesse about Rachel was actually feeling right now. “Well I was expecting you home at your usual time, I just, I forgot to set my alarm clock…” Jesse tried to explain a little lamely, almost cringing internally at how he could have been so stupid – it wasn’t that he didn’t want to clean up and cook for her when she got home, he’d just been so tired!
The internal cringing got even worse when Rachel suddenly turned quite sarcastic, or at least, that’s what it felt like to him. Her words were scratching and honestly, it felt a little bit like being verbally whipped or some such. “Rachel, please, that’s not at all how it is!” He tried to defend himself, although he very honestly felt incredibly small right now – because it had been a very stupid mistake, especially since they were both so tired and everything, but still, she didn’t have to get all mean about it. Though, in retrospect – Jesse was honestly sure he would’ve reacted in the exact same way.
He did however feel his idea was pretty good – if they both just started on it now instead of arguing, they could be done in no time what so ever and then they could make up in the bedroom later – but Rachel didn’t at all see his perspective. “Why would I be joking? You know it always goes quicker when there’s two of us doing the work,” Jesse said, practically skipping after her (since he’d had a nap, he was feeling quite energetic now) “And we can even delegate, you start cleaning and I’ll cook up something for when you’re done, then we’ll both have contributed and well, we’ll get something nice to eat as well?” Jesse asked, following her into the bedroom and leaning against the doorframe, “I don’t think that’s completely unreasonable, is it?”
The Mess We’ve Made || St. Berry
Rachel tried to hide her look of amusement as Jesse jolted upright like that, but she was mad at him, so he couldn’t see her smiling just yet, so she forced herself to keep an neutral expression as she looked down at him, wondering whether he’d be able to figure out for himself why she was so annoyed, or whether she’d have to spell it out for him. She arched an eyebrow as he got up off the couch, and turned her head to the side as he made an attempt to kiss her cheek. It wasn’t that she didn’t want the affection, because it was all she’d been thinking about since sometime that afternoon, but now she was more annoyed than anything, so all of that was going to have to wait now.
“What time were you expecting me, exactly?” she asked, slowly, keeping her voice as even as possible, a technique she’d perfected over the years. Her eyes narrowed even more as he continued though, almost as if she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. She shook her head, exhaling for a moment, before glancing back at her boyfriend, eyes still narrowed on him. “You were tired?” she asked, in disbelief, and she was sure that her tone shown that perfectly, “I’m glad you actually come home and time to nap, I’ve forgotten what that even feels like anymore,” she stated, “I’m so sorry that I disturbed you, how selfish of me,” she rolled her eyes, looking away from him, and internally groaning at everything that needed to be done around her, she didn’t even know where to start, and she was starving, since she’d actually been hoping that Jesse would actually get dinner started since he was going to be home first. She knew it was a long shot, but it never hurt to be surprised.
Her head quickly snapped back to look at Jesse, a part of her wondering whether he was joking, so much so that she actually felt like laughing, but then the serious expression on his face told her otherwise. “You’re not joking, are you?” she asked him slowly, then shook her head in annoyance, “I can’t believe you sometimes,” she muttered, turning her back on him and picking up her bag and disappearing into their bedroom.

Jesse shook his head vehemently at Mike’s words and then immediately regretted it, because shaking his head was just making everything even more hazy which – how was that even possible? He had no idea, but everything was definitely spinning now and very much not in a good way. But Mike was completely wrong; it would be a few years before they got anywhere near having children together, Rachel and him, but nonetheless, she wouldn’t turn into a complete bitch monster. He just knew that, she was much too sweet and kind for such a thing. “You’ll see, once we reach that point, she’s going to be sweeter than sugar and I’m going to be there and tell you ‘I told you so’,” Jesse with as much conviction as he could muster, he truly believed he was right.
He couldn’t help but laugh when Mike sagged a little in his chair because he missed the armrest – actually, he laughed a lot and yup, there went the room, spinning again. “Marriage is a pretty big thing,” Jesse agreed and to himself, he sounded incredibly wise right now, “and if that’s not where you envision yourself going, then I think that’s completely fine. Marriage is such… an old tradition anyway, there’s plenty of couples out there who live happily ever after without getting married, you know.” He nodded, his head throbbing a little now, “I want to get married though, eventually, but it’s not like it’s needed.” They were both leaning back now and Jesse followed Mike’s example of shielding his eyes from the light because – dammit, it was really bright in here all of a sudden – or had it always been and Jesse just hadn’t noticed before now? Jesse practically shook with laughter next, because the idea of Mike juggling around his baby was actually incredibly funny, “You know, I think we just found a way for you and your Baby Chang to get financial independence!”
Tell Me Your Troubles || St. Chang
Mike scoffed, actually scoffed when Jesse said that, because if Tina’s pregnancy had taught him anything, it was that women get super scary when they were pregnant, and Rachel was super scary anyway, so throw in baby hormones, and…Mike shuddered just thinking about it. “Fuck, dude I can’t wait until she’s screaming at you because you didn’t do something, she didn’t ask you to do, I’ll just be sitting here, because I totally warned you,” he said smugly, moving to lean on the arm rest of the chair and missing completely, oops. It had probably been moved while they’d talking or something. Whatever, after shifting slightly, he definitely found it again, so it wasn’t a big deal or whatever.
He laughed as Jesse patted the couch, and his eyes glanced down at the couch to see what it thought about Jesse groping him like that, he’d probably have to have a serious talk with him when he could actually think clearly. But right now, he was okay to have this little internal thoughts himself, he was sure he’d remember this tomorrow anyway. “Yeah, yeah, I guess,” he nodded, letting out a quick breath, because fuck that was scary, having a kid sure, but getting married? Hell no. He couldn’t do that yet. “My dad said it was like, the right thing to do or whatever, but fuck dude, I don’t know if I even want to get married,” He laughed when Jesse leaned back in his seat, Mike doing the same thing and covering his eyes with his hand to try and block out some of the light, because the room was kinda spinning a little, and the light wasn’t helping at all. “Yeah…probably wouldn’t have to work as much either…”

Jesse was having the most pleasant dream. He had just gotten home from work and there was Rachel, greeting him in the doorway, wearing some admittedly very inappropriate clothes for cooking – but it was a dream, so Jesse obviously didn’t care. There was a wonderful smell coming from the kitchen and everything was as clean and sparkly as it usually was – she greeted him with a heated kiss, leaving his head spinning, before she pulled back and pulled him into the kitchen and – bam. A loud noise startled Jesse so much that he practically bolted upright in the couch, mumbling something about dinner being ready, as he sat up.
He rubbed his eyes and blinked a couple of times – briefly disappointed that it had just been a dream – before he turned his head and looked over to Rachel who… well, to say she looked slightly angry might have been a bit of an understatement. Whenever she had her arms folded across her chest like that, something was usually displeasing her in some way – something Jesse had learned by now, so he gulped slightly as he got up from the couch, walking over to greet her. “Hey baby,” he said softly as he tried to lean in to kiss her cheek – although she still looked mighty displeased after that.
Taking a few steps back he ran a hand through his hair and glanced around their apartment and – yeah, he had wanted to do some cleaning and then he had fallen asleep and… what time was it even? “I didn’t expect you to be home so soon,” he said quickly as a way of explanation, quickly pulling out his phone to check the time and shit. Rachel wasn’t actually early or anything, it was just him who had overslept by quite a large margin and… well, this wasn’t good. “I mean… I was supposed to be up earlier so I could get something done, but I forgot to set my alarm and I was just really quite tired…” Jesse swallowed and gestured towards the couch lamely, sort of bracing himself for an angry retort of some kind, but then he got what he thought was a brilliant idea; “But I mean, now that you’re home, we could both get started and then we’ll be done in no time?”
The Mess We’ve Made || St. Berry
Rachel was equally as tired, the workload at NYADA had definitely increased for her, so she’d spent the majority of her day putting in the hours in the dance studio, then fitting in a quick study session in the library to begin work on one of her latest assignments, before putting in a last minute shift at the diner. A lot of her classmates wondered how she did it, but she was used to working hard, it was something she’d been doing since she was young, so this wasn’t any different. Besides, they needed to make rent every month and still have enough money to live relatively comfortably, it was certainly easier now that Jesse was working too, but it wasn’t enough for her to start slacking, she needed that strong incentive in her life, it was what kept her going day after day, even when she felt like she wasn’t getting anywhere fast.
But, back to today, and there was nothing she was looking forward to more, than getting home finally, having a nice cooked meal - she knew Jesse finished work before she did - then spending the rest of the night with her feet up, curled in the arms of her boyfriend. So, what she wasn’t expecting when she pushed her key into the lock was to be greeted by complete silence. Her first thought was confusion, and she quickly checked her phone in case he’d sent her a message and she’d missed it throughout the day, but there was nothing. Her eyebrows pulled together in concern as she dropped her keys onto the hallway table, and closed the door behind her. “Jesse?” she called, slowly walking through the apartment, her thoughts of having a meal waiting for her disappearing rapidly, it wasn’t the end of the world, but she definitely thought they’d be ordering takeout tonight, she knew Jesse wouldn’t like it, but she had no energy to stand and actually cook anything substantial tonight.
As she continued on her search, she let out a little sigh at the state of their home, it wasn’t a complete mess, but it wasn’t as tidy as she’d like either. Clothes were still waiting to put away, sitting in a pile in the corner of the room, dishes in the kitchen from breakfast still waiting to be cleaned, then in the middle of it all, she finally found her boyfriend, fast asleep without a care in the world. Enough was enough, she was tired as well, but she couldn’t remember the last time she’d been able to come home and nap and forget about everything else that needed to be done around here. So, she dropped her book bag on top of the coffee table, with a loud thud, and stood back with her arms folded across her chest as Jesse jolted awake.

The Mess We’ve Made || St. Berry
As Jesse clocked out from work he was feeling bone tired. Sure, he had gotten a good bit better at this job now – actually getting a few tips from being quiet (because people still didn’t want his clearly superior opinions, but that was their loss, right?) and just getting better at his job. He didn’t spill quite as much anymore and nor had he broken more things, so there was an upside to everything, right? But after a week of practically non stop shifts and hardly seeing Rachel at all, he was just so incredibly tired.
He practically dragged himself back to their apartment, thanking his lucky stars once again that he had gotten a job so close to home. Opening up the door and locking it behind himself again, he let out a long sigh – all he really wanted to do was just to take a little nap, lie down for just a little while. But looking around the apartment, he really shouldn’t. It wasn’t messy or incredibly dirty or anything, but it was certainly looking a lot less clean than it usually did – mostly because both he and Rachel were working now and when they weren’t doing that, they had school things to do and it just didn’t leave a lot of time for cleaning and making sure everything was up to snuff, as usual.
Jesse glanced down at his watch – there were two hours till Rachel got home, so he could manage a good deal before she’d arrive. But still, two hours… he could probably do a good job even if he took a nap for half an hour. He didn’t need more than that, he was sure, just a little bit of rest so he could get his energy back. He nodded to himself – yup, that’s what he’d do – before he walked into the living room and flopped down on the couch, falling asleep almost immediately and completely forgetting to set an alarm to wake him up.

Jesse was having a good time really and maybe, just maybe, he was feeling a little bit intoxicated now, but it was all in good fun, right? He was hanging out with his best buddy Mike (who wouldn’t ever spit in his coffee) and they were just having a good old heart-to-heart, like proper dudes did. Or at least, Jesse was sure that was what they did, he didn’t really have much experience in the ‘bro’ department aside from Mike. But when he mentioned that he should just wait until Rachel got pregnant, Jesse couldn’t help but scoff, “Rachel’s not going to turn into a hormonal succubus like Rachel, of that much I’m sure. Besides, I’d hope we have a few years until that happens…” Jesse slurred as he leaned back, letting out a little laugh at boyfriend credit, “Well no, I haven’t had to use my credit yet, but then again, I’m not the one to forget half the items the woman asks for, now am I?” He shot back with a grin and – okay, so maybe he should just switch over to pure water from now on, because things were getting a little hazy.
Hazy enough apparently, that whatever Jesse had just said made Mike go incredibly pale (and that was just not a good look on him, he couldn’t pull off pale, Jesse thought to himself) and freak out a little bit, which… oh, it was something Jesse had said. He reached over to try and pat Mike on the knee, but he ended up patting the couch instead, “You don’t have to get married! You can be perfectly happy without a marriage!” Jesse nodded at his own wise words, “You’re so young and with a kid on the way, it’s not the old days anymore, kids out of wedlock are totally acceptable now, you know.” He was being so helpful right now, Jesse was totally sure of it. Because – see! He totally made Mike understand the concept of a new normal! “Exactly, you’ve just got to… appreciate this new life and see what comes of it.” Jesse nodded vehemently, getting a little dizzy from it and leaning back on the couch, unable to help himself as he laughed at the mental image of Mike actually juggling a baby around. “That would probably be really, really unhealthy for the baby but you could probably get people to pay to see you do that…”
Tell Me Your Troubles || St. Chang
Mike just sort of stared at Jesse in disbelief as he continued to defend Tina and her crazy baby hormones, like whatever Bro-code they had in place or whatever, Jesse was totally ruining right now. Mike couldn’t believe it, he’d thought he’d trained him so much better than that. It looked like he was going to have pick up the training a little more, that was all Mike could say right now. “Just you wait dude, when Rachel is all knocked up and crazy hormonal like, don’t you complain to me,” He grinned, moving to punch Jesse’s shoulder, but missing it completely, but styling it out, because he was that good. “Oh yeah?” He asked, arching an eyebrow, a mischievous grin pulling at his lips, “And what would you know about good boyfriend credit, that ever worked for you?” he asked with a little smirk.
The laughter stopped though, when Jesse agreed with him about baby Chang and explained why he sounded so good, and his face paled completely, rubbing the palm of his hand over his face. “Fuck dude, you make it sound like we’re married,” Then he paused, dropping his hands in horror and looking at his friend as if he had all of the answers, “Fuck dude, do I have to like, get married now as well?” Like, becoming a dad was one thing, but becoming a husband as well, like all at once was more than a little overwhelming for him to handle right now. “Yeah…yeah…” he said slowly, nodding as Jesse redefined normal for him, which kind of helped, a little. “You got a point dude, I mean, I just need to learn to like, juggle everything, not the baby, I’m not going to juggle the kid, Tina would freak, but you know what I mean,”

Jesse couldn’t help but shiver slightly when Rachel leaned in to whisper in his ear again, her breath hot on his neck and her mouth just right there and – he was definitely feeling something other than relaxation, right now. It was a slow build up and Rachel was still running her hands across his back, massaging him gently, but Jesse was sort of waking up a little again now – with a sort of goal in mind. He couldn’t help but grin a little at her comment, however, “You’re definitely incredibly talented, in more ways than one.” He murmured softly under his breath.
Flipping them around a little bit afterwards, he couldn’t help but chuckle softly at Rachel, a winning grin slowly spreading across his face, “I’d say you were succeeding, actually.” He leaned in to kiss her softly – meshing their lips together in a way that was both comforting and amazing, all at once – Jesse had honestly never thought that the mere act of just kissing someone would make him feel so at ease, so hot and bothered, all at the same time – but it genuinely always happened whenever he kissed Rachel, it was just… incredible, for lack of a better word. When he pulled away, briefly, he smiled at her, leaning in to rest his forehead against hers, “I love you. I can’t imagine having a better end to my first day as a productive member of society.” Leaning in to kiss her again, his body automatically shifted into the dance they had done so many times before, yet would never get tired of. Really, the day couldn’t have ended on a happier note.
Hard Knock Life || St. Berry
Rachel knew exactly what she was doing, she wasn’t that naive really, she could easily see the affect that her words had on Jesse, the way his body shivered ever so slightly as she pressed a lingering kiss just below his ear. She smirked a little as she settled herself on his lower back. She rubbed her hands together, ensuring that the oil wouldn’t be too cool on his skin, and the warmth would help him to relax even more anyway. She could feel the tense knots in his shoulders, which she set about working on first of all, tilting her head to the side when she heard him breathe out like that. “Feel good?” she asked, her voice soft above the music as she continued to work the muscles in his back and shoulders.
She laughed softly as she listened to him speak, leaning forward to press another kiss to his ear, “It’s just one of my many talents,” she whispered, before straightening up a little and shifting a little more so that she could mover her hands a little lower against his back. She was feeling quite relaxed herself, now that she thought about it, the music and the candlelight definitely helping. She made a surprised sound when Jesse suddenly moved, switching their positions slightly, and she moved her hands to wrap around his neck instead, giving herself a little extra support. “Can’t blame a girl for a trying, can you?” she teased, curling her fingers a little into his hair.

Jesse felt like giggling. Actually giggling. Which was just, not really something he did, but he couldn’t help it, when Mike seemed to be a little affronted that Jesse was actually taking Tina’s side over his and well. In all honesty, it surprised Jesse too – but he had seen his fair share of movies to know that everyone should side with the crazy pregnant woman; otherwise, things would just not go well. “Well, Mike, while I have almost nothing but sympathy for your cause, I can’t help but… and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but side with Tina here. If you really are the root of some issues as she says, then, you know, you have to fix it. She’s carrying a child, I just think women go a little crazy then…” Jesse said with a small shrug, because it wasn’t as if he knew, but still. “And… think of the rewards after. When the crazy hormones have settled and she remembers what a good boyfriend you’ve been throughout the whole thing? I mean, I have no wish to know what you guys do when you’re all by yourself, aside from actually making babies, but… good boyfriend credit goes a long way, right?”
He was fairly confident he had slurred a little in that conversation, which was just not going to help his point, but Mike was a good friend so he would obviously understand. That’s what Jesse really liked about Mike, they were completely different in a lot of ways, but they just understood each other and it always felt fantastic when they did. Even if he wasn’t being particularly helpful to Mike’s cause right now, but what was the use of just bitching about Tina? Jesse blinked at himself, unsure of when he had actually started this whole defending Tina thing, it was getting quite creepy. He snickered a little when Mike said baby Chang, because yes – it definitely had a nice ring to it. “It really does, you’ll both be Changs and then you’ll get a little baby Chang, it just makes perfect sense.” It did to Jesse, anyway. “Well… maybe your life is just… trying to find a new normal? One with diapers and dancing and everything?” Jesse suggested, helpfully – at least, he thought so.
Tell Me Your Troubles || St. Chang
Mike wasn’t really sure how much he’d already had to drink, but he knew that the room had started to sway, which was a pretty cool effect Jesse had going on here, he totally had to ask him how he did that the next time they hung out. He wasn’t going to ask him right now though, because he had much more important things to discuss, like how the hell he was going to get Tina to stop going all crazy pregnant woman on him, and actually go back to normal, pretty cool Tina. Jesse was usually pretty good with words, so he figured he’d at least have some decent advice for him, even if his skills with women were a little more questionable at times. But, he chose now to start sucking as a friend, and he actually took Tina’s side, which he was sure was going against some sort of Bro-code or whatever. “Well thanks dude, I was counting on you to actually take my side on this one,” he told him, running his hands through his hair, feeling all kinds of frustrated.
“But I never know what to say, and I’m sure that like, most of the time, I’m probably just making it worse, I mean it dude, she’s actually told me that I’m making it worse,” He rubbed the back of his neck, swaying slightly in his seat, this effect really starting to kick in now, which he thought was pretty awesome, totally nothing to do with all the beer he’d already had to drink. “Yeah, okay dude, no need to be so damn smug about it,” He rolled his eyes at that, because he totally didn’t need a shopping list, he could remember all sorts of stuff, but when Tina was constantly on his back about all sorts of random crap, he couldn’t be blamed for leaving things out. “Baby Chang? That’s got a nice ring to it, don’t you think?” Mike grinned, slapping Jesse on the back as he rolled his shoulders slightly, “I don’t know if my life is ever going to be normal again, dude, I can’t even remember what normal is,”

Jesse nodded slightly when Rachel asked whether or not he was settled because, yeah, he was feeling incredibly comfortable right now. If it wasn’t for the fact that Rachel had promised him a massage and such, he could’ve fallen asleep right then – he just felt tired and spent, but in a good kind of way. Maybe this whole job wouldn’t actually be as bad as he had originally thought – especially not if he got to come home to this every night. He chuckled softly, “Well, I’m slightly biased in this but yes, I do feel like I’ve waited long enough now.” He said, with an amused tone of voice, feeling the bed dip a little as Rachel got herself settled as well, smirking a little at her comment. “Well, you know I don’t do anything half-assed,” followed by a small shiver of pleasure as she whispered in his ear, her breath hot and promising and the small, lingering kiss there just enough to make Jesse wanting more.
Her instruction of just relaxing wasn’t exactly difficult to follow, Jesse wasn’t entirely sure he could get more relaxed than he was now – but oh boy. Somehow he always seemed to forget that Rachel had magical hands, finding all the right spots and all the right knots and just gently kneading them out, leaving Jesse feeling much better than he had when he had gotten out of work. “God,” he breathed when she reached a particularly sore spot that had him arching his back a little, before relaxing once again. “You are just pure magic, aren’t you? Magical hands, lips, everything.” He said with a small smile, thinking back to a time where Rachel had made a swollen lip feel ten times better just by kissing it. When Rachel seemed to finish working her magic, Jesse shifted himself around so he was on his back, Rachel still straddling him and he looked up at her with a quirked eyebrow, smirking a little. He hadn’t heard she’d taken off her shirt, but well, he was never going to complain about that. “Expecting something in return?” He asked a little cockily, running his hands up and down her hips with a coy smile on his face.
Hard Knock Life || St. Berry
Rachel laughed to herself as Jesse quickly disappeared off into their bedroom, she’d known he was eager, but she hadn’t realised just how eager until now. It was quite cute really. She left him on his own for a short while, finishing clearing up the rest of the kitchen before she decided to join him again. There was nothing wrong with drawing things out of course, as she was sure that it would make the whole thing even more worth it when they had no distractions left between them and they could spend the whole night together. Now that, that was something worth waiting for. She tidied away their now clean plates, putting them back into their rightful places, before glancing over her shoulder when she heard music playing faintly in their bedroom. She sighed softly, ensuring that everything was put away properly, before deciding to finally join her boyfriend and put him out of his misery.
She stood in the doorway of their room for a moment, leaning up against the door as she watched Jesse as he lay down on top of their bed, arching an eyebrow slightly at him. “Settled?” she asked him, her voice soft just over the music that was playing softly, “Okay, okay, you’ve waited long enough,” she laughed, walking over to her dresser, and picking up a bottle of her favourite scented oil and tossing it over to the bed. “I’ll admit, you’ve done a brilliant job in setting the mood,” she smiled, lifting her shirt up over her head and tossing it into the nearby hamper, before climbing up onto the bed herself, straddling Jesse at his waist and leaning forward so that she could whisper in her ear, “The candles are a nice touch,” she whispered, pressing a lingering kiss below his ear, before pulling away properly and popping the cap of the oil and pouring a small into the palm of her hands, “Now, just relax,” she told him, rubbing her hands together, before placing them on his shoulders, rubbing them gently to begin with.

Mike was his friend. Mike wouldn’t actually spit in his coffee. Mike wasn’t the kind of guy who would do that to his friend. Jesse kept repeating those sentences over and over in his head as Mike was obviously toying with him… or was he? No, Mike was his friend. He wouldn’t do something like that to a friend. After calming down a little, he did appreciate his advice and well, he was going to have to try a little harder in the future then, because it did seem like all the other waiters were getting much better tips than he was and although he almost didn’t want to believe it, maybe it was just because he wasn’t exactly very good at being quiet, like the rest of them were. Jesse sighed, maybe Mike was right.
Jesse took a long sip from his glass and shook his head a little, briefly wondering whether he should maybe stop drinking soon because that first bottle was gone and he was getting a little bit of a buzz on. Mike really could speak quite quickly when he was… what, angry? Passionate? Jesse wasn’t entirely sure, so he shrugged a little at his question, leaning back on the couch. “Well I don’t know, but isn’t that what it’s like in the movies and such? The pregnant lady is always right and basically you’ve done the fun part, so now it’s time to just… suck it up, or something? I can’t exactly speak from experience,” Jesse said a little feebly, shrugging his shoulders. “I hate it when Rachel cries too, but I think you just have to be… stoic and take it. Like a statue, or something.” Jesse nodded at himself, he could be quite profound when he wanted to. Although he scoffed when Mike dismissed his shopping list idea, “Well I’m just saying, if you had one, you wouldn’t actually forget what she asks of you, now would you?”
Jesse let out a small puff of air as he scooted a little closer to Mike, putting a hand on his knee and looking up at his friend. “I don’t know what to tell you, but… I think it’s all going to be worth it, the craziness, when Baby Chang, you know, enters the world. Through a process I will never willingly think about. The normalcy of your life will return, eventually, I suppose.” Jesse offered, wondering whether it was good enough or not.
Tell Me Your Troubles || St. Chang
Mike smirked a little, noticing Jesse having one of his minor freak outs, as he raised his bottle to his lips and took a small drink from it, letting his friend stew for a while longer. This game was fun, and he wondered how long he could keep it going for. “No, course not, dude,” he shrugged, lowering the bottle once more and holding Jesse’s gaze for a second or two longer than usual, then looking away from him again, wondering just how much Jesse was going to freak out about this. “Just keep adding to that list,” he told him, rolling his shoulders as he leaned back slightly in his seat, “Perks of the job and all that, and when you’re counting your tips at the end of the night, you won’t be thinking about how stupid they were,” He tried to be encouraging, since he thought that would be better than adding to Jesse’s rage, he couldn’t say that it would work, since Jesse was in a league of his own with that sort of thing. He hadn’t met anyone who could freak out quite like Jesse could.
He pursed his lips together slightly when Jesse actually started to defend Tina, which really wasn’t what he was expecting to hear from his friend. He thought Jesse would side with him, which was like, the normal thing to do, but no, Jesse decided to grow a heart or whatever in like, the space of five minutes. “Dude, it’s not like I have a choice, like, you know, I try and be all supportive and whatever, but then she starts crying, and then get angry at me because I don’t know what the hell I’m doing? I mean, seriously dude, what do you do when a girl starts crying but doesn’t tell you what’s wrong?” Mike barely knew what he was doing half of the time anyway, let alone when a girl started crying, then he was definitely out of his comfort zone. “Dude, I don’t need a shopping list!” he stressed, rolling his eyes at him, “I just need my life to go back to something kinda normal, you know?”

Thinking back to just a few years ago, Jesse had never really imagined that he would ever be so lucky as he was, right now. Then again, a few years ago he was sure he would’ve already made it in the big city and started doing shows on Broadway right now – he was practically talent incarnate, so surely that would’ve happened. But these days he found that he wasn’t really as bothered by it, as he would’ve been before he met Rachel. No, these days he was just happy with how things were working out – he had found the perfect woman, they had a great place and they both did exceptionally well in school. Things could hardly be better. He smiled brightly at her from across the table, nodding when they made some tentative plans to go see his parents again, because yeah, that would actually be quite nice.
Rachel hardly even got to mention that he could go get comfortable, before he practically bounced into their bedroom. He tugged his shirt off over his head, and put it in the hamper, before moving around to light the candles they had at various places in the bedroom. It wasn’t always they were lit, but for somewhat romantic lights, candles had just the perfect lighting – it wasn’t too dim nor too bright, it was just the way it was supposed to be. Granted, Rachel was giving him a massage, but sometimes that led to something more and, well, being prepared was never a bad thing, right?
Jesse tapped his chin as he went through a couple of CDs, unsure of what to put on, before he finally settled on an Enya CD, just to have something that wasn’t too complicated running in the background. Walking back to the bed, he folded up the bedcover before jumping into the bed and getting himself comfortable, grinning a little when Rachel appeared in the door, “All comfortable.”
Hard Knock Life || St. Berry
Rachel nodded when Jesse finally agreed to call his parents, she knew it wasn’t the most exciting job in the world, but she was sure that they’d like to know, that they’d want to know that he was doing okay. After all, he hadn’t exactly taken the news all that well when they’d broken it to him back at Christmas. “Good, just make sure you do,” she told him with a little grin, before going onto roll her eyes, “Don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten,” she winked back at him, before glancing down at her plate and finishing the last of her meal. She never claimed to be the worlds best cook, but she certainly knew what she was doing in the kitchen, and she was definitely pleased with what she’d thrown together tonight. “Right?” she laughed, glancing down as she held out her arm to just emphasise her point. Although they’d been blessed with a lovely summer in New York this year, she could still remember how amazing that Florida sunshine had been, and how reenergised she’d felt when they’d returned to the city.
She nodded when he agreed to go back home with her again soon, “Oh please, you know they’ll be pleased to see you too,” Rachel joked, honestly she was still grateful that Jesse’s family had taken her in as they had, they’d definitely made her feel as though she was a part of the family, and she loved them for that. “Well, that’s what I was thinking, maybe once the Christmas rush is out of the way, we could look into it then?” She was thinking more Spring Break time, they’d need the break from school anyway, so she thought the timing would be perfect. But they still had a few months to work out the finer details, besides they didn’t know whether Jesse’s parents would be available then anyway. They finished their dinner relatively quietly, but Rachel could still appreciate the intimacy of it, since they were both pretty busy these days with school, and now with them both working, spending quality time together was a rarity, so she always made sure that she appreciated ever moment they spent together, and tonight was no different. She back a little in her seat, eyebrow arched as Jesse got up to clear away their plates, quite impressed with what she was seeing from him, maybe working for a living was starting to rub off on him. It had only been his first day, but stranger things had happened. Though, as he turned back to face her, she soon realised that he’d had an ulterior motive. “Fine, fine,” she grinned, getting up from her seat, “Go get yourself comfortable, and I’ll be in once I’ve cleaned up in here, okay?” she told him, pressing a little lingering kiss to his cheek.

Jesse was slightly horrified by Mike’s comment about spitting in people’s coffee – surely no one actually did that? Wasn’t that just something awful in the movies or? He must’ve looked a little paled, he surely felt the blood drain from his face as he swallowed, blinking a couple of times. “Please tell me you never spat in my coffee, at the very least. Otherwise I might have an aneurysm.” He took in a deep breath after that and nodded a little, at least Mike was trying to give him some good advice about his job and yeah okay, maybe he should just listen to him, since he had been a server for far longer than he had. “I’ll try, next time someone says something I don’t like. Or look stupid. Or ridiculous. Or have bad skin.” He could give it a go at least, right? He had noticed that some of his colleges seemed to be getting much better tips than he did.
He nodded a little when Mike started talking about how he wasn’t exactly ready to be a dad, but he didn’t have a choice other than to accept it by now, since, well… Quite a bit too late. Jesse ran a hand through his hair, smiling a little and nodding at Mike when he actually seemed to make sense – because yeah, at least Rachel and he could talk about where they were going and when, instead of things just… well, accidentally happening. And they were always using protection, so hopefully the chances of an actual slip up like Mike and she-devil’s wouldn’t happen.
Jesse smirked a little, maybe he should actually start calling her Tina, now that she was pregnant and everything and, well, he supposed he should as well just to make Mike happy. He didn’t say anything about Rachel, so… Although slightly inappropriate, he couldn’t help the small chuckle when Mike told him how she’d freaked out on him and cried at Ellen (which was kind of fair, sometimes they were being incredibly emotional on that show) “Well, at the risk of coming to… Tina’s defense, I think you just have to sort of go with it? I mean, she’s the one that’s carrying your… you know, child and everything. And if you’d just agreed to get a shopping list like I told you to quite a few times, then you wouldn’t actually be forgetting anything.”
Tell Me Your Troubles || St. Chang
Mike let Jesse prattle on a little longer about the people he worked for, lips lifting into a smirk as he ranted on until he finally realised that he was being sarcastic. He raised an eyebrow when Jesse finally caught on, giving him his best ‘well duh’ look as he tilted his head just slightly. “All the time dude, that’s what you get when you do what we do!”  Mike stated, before reaching up to rub the back of his neck, “But you don’t do it, because the pay sucks, and you’re working for tips. Seriously dude, you gotta learn to hold your tongue. I mean, you don’t have to say what’s on your mind all the time,” he thought that was obvious, but then he remembered who he was talking to, so maybe it needed saying one more time. “Look, next time you’re at work, and someone says something you don’t like, just don’t react, you just gotta smile and nod, then when they’re not looking, spit in their coffee or something,” he winked at Jesse giving him a cheeky grin, “But you didn’t hear that from me, I’d never do a thing like that,”
Mike leaned back a little in his seat as he waited for Jesse to come back, trying to think about what else he could suggest to help Jesse, since he wasn’t exactly an expert in relationships and stuff like that, since he was barely managing with his own right now. “Yeah dude, I know how you feel, I’m a student, I’m not supposed to be a dad either,” he stated when Jesse returned, “But like, with you guys it’s different, you can talk about it, you know, be all grown up and shit,” he shrugged, “It was too late with me and T, we had to just sorta go with it, and talk about it later, you know?” He thought that made sense, just because they weren’t ready to get married now, it didn’t mean that they couldn’t talk about it happening in the future sometimes, that sounded like something his mom would tell him to do, and she was all sorts of mature, so yeah, he thought he was giving out some pretty useful advice to his friend. “Dude, really?” Mike asked, keeping his face straight as he stared at Jesse, before rolling his eyes at him, he supposed it was too much to ask for his best friend to actually get along with the mother of his child, but whatever. “But yeah, she’s alright, I mean she’s crazy scary with the baby hormones and shit, like we were watching Ellen the other day, and she just started crying!” He finished off his beer, rolling his shoulders a little since he still didn’t understand what had set her off, “And like, I was late home from work last week, and I forgot to bring something home that she’d asked for, but seriously dude, I’m so tired all the time, and she totally flipped, I thought she was going to kill me or something!”
