ISABELLA & VIOLET MARINO
“More complicated than I’ll understand? Oh right, because you’ve actually tried to make us understand. I must have forgotten that conversation.” She countered, without hesitation. Isabella suddenly aware of her sister’s presence, turned her attention briefly to the shorter brunette as she offered a quick forced smile before green hues shot back towards her brother, cold and angry. “Yeah well, I couldn’t really care less about what you want right now Jesse.” She added, though simultaneously lowering her voice even only slightly, as she stole a glance toward her sister. “Our brother here has been lying to us.” She mused, motioning to the eldest of the siblings as he began to explain. Sixteen. The admission in itself was like a knife to the stomach, to think her brother had been pulled into that world at such a young age, it broke her. “Dad had no right to do that to you, to force you into something like that as a kid. But you still could have said something, done something to change it. We didn’t need them, we could have been fine on our own.” She countered, even if she didn’t know it the idea of someone else having kept a roof over her family’s head left a bitter taste in her mouth. “We can’t understand the path you had to take because you never allowed us too, you never even bothered to explain or let us in. Instead you decided for us that we were better left in the dark. Like you were protecting us, when really you were only hurting us in the long haul. Just like dad.” The paramedic spat, before shaking her head once again, blonde tendrils falling down to frame her frustration riddle features.  “If you really wanted to put us first, you wouldn’t have lied to us for as long as you have. So what you just believed him, you just ate up every word that he said? Dad betrayed us, he lied to us. And you followed suit all because he told you too.” tag you’re it; @violetxmarino

Violet had stood between the eldest and youngest Marino in this manner many times throughout their lives, usually about trivial things. Though it was quick to realize as she tried to understand the topic of conversation that this was anything but inconsequential. Her mind was still a bit rattled from what happened inside but the sight of her siblings alive had eased some of her worries, short-lived as she registered Jesse speaking. Words like: since I was sixteen, and grooming piqued her attention and it didn’t take long for her to click the he that was being spoken about was their father. It wasn’t until Bella called him a liar that things became clear. All those times that Violet had her suspicions, even before leaving to New York, that Jesse was involved. Chalking it up to her usual paranoia and feeling bad that she would even think that of Jesse, her brother who could be nothing like the man that tore the very foundation of their family. “Path you had to take?” she repeated incredulously stepping back to view him clearly. “So that no one touched either of us?” a dry laugh escaped her lips, the mixture of adrenaline and shock alone at this point fuelling her anger. She let Bella speak because everything she was saying Violet wholeheartedly agreed with. “Dad thought what he was doing was right, he validated all his secrets and betrayal on the twisted idea that he was doing it for us! And now—Look where he is Jesse! Look at mom, Bella, me… even you! He fucked us all up in some way.” she let out with a shake to her head. “All those years..” she trailed levelling her gaze with his. “Was it really that simple for you to lie? To keep that from us?” tag you’re it; @jessexmarino

..
Inhaling through his nose, Jesse glanced down towards his feet as he listened to his sisters do exactly what he always imagined they would when the news came out that he had taken his father’s footsteps and kept walking the path he had laid out. “Our dad had debt, Isabella. I was the only way of being able to repay it. My life was always meant to go to...” he hated the fact they were having this conversation outside of the venue where all you could hear was the screams of other people. He shoved his hands into his pockets, brushing his tongue along his lower lip as she shook his head at their words. If he had been honest, there wasn’t a single person he let in all the way. Somehow he was lying to pretty much everyone in his life and the only person who knew him through and through was a Volkov. He was even hiding stuff from his best friend, someone who had been the reason that growing up in the Scorpions wasn’t so bad and he even hid stuff from the woman he was supposed to marry, hiding what he had actually done for a living. As this conversation went on, Jesse knew why his ex-fiancé found comfort somewhere else because he kept everyone at arms length including his family. “It’s not like we all haven’t kept things from each other.” His eyes drifting towards his baby sister, thinking about the way she had come over to his house a few days after Vasili’s stabbing. “None of us have been perfect about letting the others in.” He glanced past them to check the area around them. “I don’t know what you want me to say... I couldn’t tell you too the day dad got arrested. There was no changing the path I had to take and I know neither one of you are going to understand but what you learned today... It needs to stay between us and I’ll do my best to answer any questions you have... I just... I can’t change anything now and I know I should have told you guys sooner but... How? How was I supposed to tell you that I could end up like dad or worse?” He gestured to the venue. tag you’re it; @isabella-marino

DIANA VOLKOV
How startlingly different their circumstances were now in comparison to the last time Jesse crossed over the threshold into Diana’s home; from impassioned strangers to volatile lovers. Former lovers, she reminded herself because that remained an uncrossable line despite how it blurred out of focus on several occasions. Even his presence tonight held great risk for both parties, though she made no effort to force him out under the lie of curiosity. Because Diana wanted to hear him out, unwilling to admit an ache resounding from spine to throat that accompanied speaking with him for the first time in over a month.
What the fuck, Diana?
What the fuck indeed. Closing the door behind herself, she wasted little time in venturing around one of the expensive sofas to casually pour a drink while Jesse rummaged through his opinion on the matter. It made little difference now, what had occurred and those decimated in the process were merely an effect, to Diana the Scorpions owned all blame for its cause. “A lot of people were at the wedding, Jesse. We’re at war, what did you expect? I can’t turn off what I am any more than you can.” Pivoting around with a glass in hand, she drew the gin upward to mimic a frigid coolness that her company didn’t deserve. Peter’s close call tonight softened that edge where siblings were concerned and after a beat she agreed to his point, emphasized by a quiet sigh. “Are they okay physically at least? Your sisters.”
Her jaw hardened at any implication that Jesse could have been on the murder docket tonight, though he was firmly within reason to suspect. Hell, any slip ups or misguided heroism on his part and they might not be having this argument at all. “No,” blonde tendrils shook ever so slightly, rebuffing the very notion. “I would never allow it.” And then he moved to leave, figure departing as it had that day at the garage… and a thousand times in her nightmares since. “Yes you do.”
Tumblr media
...
Whatever this was had been the most frustrating experience of his entire life, including the conversation he had with his sisters earlier. It was almost humorous that now the points were on the Volkov’s side that her actions were justified but the events that happened at Summer Palooza had made him the bad guy in this entire thing. His tongue brushed along his lower lip as a humorless laugh left his mouth, nodding his head. “Okay,” he cleared his throat as he tilted his head to look down at his feet. This chaotic action the Volkovs took at the wedding had only put this entire thing between them at risk. She wouldn’t be the one putting her life on the line for him but it would be the other way around because for some reason he wasn’t able to stay away from her. “Physically,” his tone was soft.
It was obvious to his demeanor that the last thing he wanted to truly talk about was his sisters. All he could hear was Isabella’s words on repeat in the back of his head. Stay the hell away from me. Little had she known that was what he had been doing since Summer Palooza, not being able to look at his little sister, knowing what had happened to Vasili was affecting her more than he wanted. It was hard for him to wrap his mind around the fact his little sister was in love with someone he had been raised to believe was the enemy but again... what the hell was he doing?
It was the way his heart raced around the blonde, it was the way he thought about her whenever he was inside someone else the last month. As his back faced her, his eyes focused on the door. His mind kept telling him to walk out that door and not look back because at the end of the day this wasn’t going to work out. They both knew that. It was her words that had stopped him from moving, the way she hadn’t hesitated to inform him that she wouldn’t have let him get hurt at the wedding. He turned around to look over at her, staring at her for a few seconds in silence. He walked over towards her, moving around the couch. His hands instantly lifting up, cupping the sides of her face and placing his forehead against hers, tilting his face in to press his lips against hers.

ISABELLA & VIOLET MARINO
Tumblr media
Betrayal. Anger. Disappointment. The emotions washed over her one after one, and she wasn’t sure if she wanted to ignore her brother and flee the venue to seek sanctury from the storm that raged inside her mind, or whether she wanted to press him and demand the answers she knew he had been withholding. And for how long, that was the real kicker. How many years, months and days had he been lying to his own flesh and blood. How many times had he acted cagey whenever one of his sisters asked him about what he’d been up to only to respond with some flakey answer about his work. It all made sense now and above all else, all the others that it seemed had also been lying, Jesse hurt the most. Spinning on her heel the moment they were outside and free from the dispersing crowd, the blonde turned her attention toward her brother. “How long. How long have you been lying to us, to your family?” She questioned, nails digging crescent moons into the soft part of her palm in an attempt to ground herself. “You of all people know better than anyone what secrets and lies like this do a family. And yet you decided to keep it anyway and why? Because you thought you could protect us?“ Bella shook her head, a scoff escaping her before her gaze met his once more. “Loosing dad nearly destroyed mom, did you stop to think even for a moment what loosing you would do to her? Would do to us?“ She spat, motioning to their sister as she noted her presence out of the peripheral vision. tag you’re it; @violetxmarino

Violet could only describe the feeling of standing at the reception as being in a daze. A horrific, chaotic daze that caused her fear to be subdued by utter shock. With the shot of the gun she fell to the ground instinctively and scrambled to help a man near her. Her eyes all the while scanned as far as she could see for the two most important people at the venue, her siblings. As if on autopilot she found herself outside with an escaping herd of strangers trailing off on her own in an effort to catch her breath. It was her sister’s voice that brought her fully into the present soon followed by Jesse’s own. Her feet automatically rushed towards them catching the tail end of her words. Secrets and lies? Her heart quickening in pace as confusion coloured her features finally coming to a standstill next to her brother. “Hey, we’re all okay.” she said in a reassuring tone turning to Bella reaching for her and giving her arm a squeeze. Still oblivious to what they were talking about, “What’s going on?” she finally asked able to recognize the distressed on her sister’s face and began shifting her head between the pair. hit me with your best shot; @jessexmarino
...
His dark hues focused on the blonde in front of him when she began to question him. All the questions were reasonable but neither one of them would understand how impossible it was to say no to their father, the backlash he got the first time he had. He turned his head to look over to see Violet heading in their direction as his head shook at her words, brushing his tongue along his lower lip. “It’s more complicated than you’ll ever understand,” he turned his head to look back at Isabella. “And I understand you’re upset right now but I need you to keep your voice down.” There were too many Viper ears listening and the way shit would go down for him if anyone of them were to overhear. It was bad enough he spilled his damn secret to a certain blonde who was in the middle of all the chaos back there, a blonde who had participated it in a way he never imagined he would see her do. “I’ve officially been in it since I was sixteen,” the words left his mouth softly. “He started grooming me when I was six... taking me to all the meetings he had with....” His shoulders rolled as he pointed to the venue. “They helped me keep a roof over our head after what he did. I know neither one of you will understand the path I had to take and if you want to view me as the monster in this for keeping you in the dark, that’s fine. But there’s a difference between him and me I put you both first. Period.” His eyes drifted towards Violet before looking back at Isabella. “He told me I had to do this in order to make sure no one touched either of you and that’s what I’ve been doing. That’s... all that’s ever mattered to me.” tag you’re it: @isabella-marino

ISABELLA MARINO
Struggling against the other’s hold on her, Isabella flailed in an attempted to get free but it was to no avail. Until suddenly out of no where she heard a grunt and his grip released instantaneously. Scrambling forward she steadied herself before turning to face the the man that was now on the ground and her brother looming over him. Relief, washed over and she visibly relaxed some for a brief moment, before flinching once more as another round o gunfire sounded off. “You okay?“ She yelled in an attempt to ensure he heard her above the chaos. “Are you hurt?” She questioned next, proceeding to give her brother a once over in search of any wound or injury only for green hues to land upon something worse. Tucked into the waistband of his pants was a gun and while perhaps had the circumstances been different she would have thought nothing of it. However, after everything she had already learned in the moments prior, it meant a great deal more. Her gaze lingered on the piece, her mouth falling open in shock as she attempted to swallow the fact that her brother perhaps hadn’t been as honest about the life he made out to be. That perhaps history was repeating itself and Jesse Marino had followed in the footsteps of their father. “No. This can’t be happening — you too?” She questioned, though it was more so rhetorical than anything else. But before he could answer she was pushing past him, following the crowd of people rushing for the closest exit.
Tumblr media
...
Jesse turned his head to look over his shoulder towards his sister, his eyes roaming every single inch of her to make sure there was no indication of blood or injury. As his lips parted to answer her questions he caught onto where her gaze had went. His hand moving up and towards the handle of his pistol realizing it had been exposed. His expression fell as he parted his lips to say something. “Is...” He wanted to explain and let her know it was much more complicated than you too. In his eyes, he never had a choose in the matter given their father had groomed him for the position since the moment he could talk. His father had known that he would get caught one day and wanted to make sure that the debt he had given their family would be paid off with his first born son. He spun on his heel and walked after her, pushing open the door to the exit right after she walked through it. “The least you could do is give me a fucking minute to explain this to you, Isabella.” He knew he wasn’t in the right to yell but his adrenaline had been spiked due to what was happening inside of the venue he had completely left behind without hesitation to walk after the youngest Marino.

RENATA GARZA
Tumblr media
Ren smiled at the mention of his mother. “That’s cute. Thinking that the biggest issue was you stepping on their toes.” For a second, she almost told him that he’d have to find a girl to marry him first but she closed her mouth. Mainly because she knew Jesse had some redeeming qualities. “She was a good teacher. I don’t think I’d survive you stepping on me.” When he twirled her, she laughed. “Show off.”
“Right back at you, Jess.” The brunette didn’t miss a beat because she hadn’t been the only one who’d been on their knees a few times. When they pulled back, she shot him a look. “Don’t start a challenge you won’t be able to finish, babe.” Her feet halted momentarily, taking a look at all the new faces. Those she recognized and she knew that soon things would take a turn for the worst. Rather than comment on the Volkov affiliates, she took his hand to guide him to the bar.
...
Tumblr media
Jesse thought about the way his mother shined when he told her he wanted was going to propose to his ex-girlfriend. Settling down had been something on his mind at one point until he had walked in on her having sex with someone else in their apartment and he knew the reputation he was creating for himself in the community of women was something he couldn’t bring himself to care about. “What would you say the biggest issue would be?” Arching a brow curiously as he shook his head with a closed lip smile coming along his features. “You like that I’m showing off.”
His own eyes took in the fact that there were snakes among them. His head turned to look over his shoulder towards each of his sisters to make sure they were still doing alright. He turned his head back to look towards the bar they were heading towards. “What makes you think I’ll back down?” He asked, moving to lean up against the bar as soon as they got to it.

DIANA VOLKOV
What happened to a pair of magnets when situated across from one another at the same table? Either they differed to the point of repulsion… Or worse, both objects drew into the other as if tethered by an inescapable force of nature. Perhaps they were governed by it, an inevitability that not even the likes of Diana Volkov could plot ahead for and yet fell victim to over, and over, and over. They had both attempted to keep the other at bay, to harness their own impulses, and yet despite every calculated move to the contrary, she still managed to find Jesse in the crowd. His dark, perceptive eyes stared directly through the blonde as if she had actually been fashioned from the ice that others claimed, She hated him for that as well.
Everything else came in screams, in chaos, in blood. Most of which could be washed down her shower drain or blotted out with a well placed instrumental playlist, the music flowed quietly throughout Diana’s penthouse now as she discarded all remnants of the evening. Crimson stained clothes burned, her knife dropped somewhere in the ocean, and were she a fraction less intelligent, it would be reasonable to assume that a good night’s rest would come soon after. The captain knew far better than to bank on it and her suspicions, unfortunately, proved right yet again.
His voice. Echoing outside of her door, beckoning the Volkov woman like a siren’s call. Maybe Diana wasn’t as wise as she claimed then, because after a breath of hesitation, deft fingers unlocked and opened the barrier between the estranged… Whatever they were. Whatever they had been.
“Hello to you, too.”
Tumblr media
...
Jesse scoffed as he glanced to each side of him to look down the hallways before he looked back at her, walking right past her into her apartment because all he could think about at that moment was the look on his sisters faces when it dawned on them what exactly he had been up to all these years. He shoved his hands into his pockets as he glanced around the inside of her apartment, remembering the night the two of them met on the pier and the way one night full of passion turned into so much fucking more.
He turned around to face her once she met him in the living room. “What the fuck, Diana?” He let a bitter humorless laugh leave his mouth but he thought through his words carefully. He knew he didn’t really have the right to come in here and start demanding answers. The line the two of them had been trying to create was screaming at him as he thought over the other questions he was wanting to spit at her. Not only had her and her family come crashing into a wedding but there were innocent people who were at the venue and the role she played. He knew his own hands were capable of so much violence but seeing her hands just as capable...
Breathing out, the male raised his hand to the top his head, running the palm along his shaved head. He was still wearing his tux, the unraveled mess he currently was. The crimson stains all over the white buttoned up only proved the hell he had gone through only hours prior. “My sisters were at that fucking wedding!” His voice raised. How come he cared this much? Even at Palooza, he knew pulling her into the bathroom would keep her out of harms way and the little regard she had for his own life. He wondered how the hell he kept doing this. How the hell he kept putting himself into situations where it was more than obvious he was the one who cared more.
“You know the bullet that killed Kate Montgomery could have easily been the one that killed me? At least I tried to protect you at Summer Palooza!” He shook his head as he turned his head towards the door. “I don’t even know why the fuck I’m here.”

ISABELLA MARINO
status: closed to @jessexmarino
location: cressino farm | post plot drop
Tumblr media
Everything happened so quickly, from the sound of a gunshot going off to the screams of the bridal party and further guests. And then suddenly there were people everywhere; running shoving and pushing their way through the crowd, while others stood their ground. Isabella knew the right thing to do in that moment would have been to rush to the maid of honors side and do what she could to stop the bleeding, but before her feet could carry her anywhere the wailing of the bride affirmed her fears. There was no saving Kate Montgomery. As if finally snapping out of her haze she turned to her right, the whimpering of a woman with her hands raised in front of her caught her attention first and she grimaced as she noticed the obvious gun being dug into her back by a mail assailant. The youngest Marino had never been a violent person, while she shared her fiery temper with her brother and father, her very existence was centered around her desire to help others. Nevertheless, none of that mattered in the heat of the moment.
Looking at the blatantly terrified woman, it was like she was looking at herself all those months ago, on a job when a gun was shoved against her own head. The fear that had coursed through her until help had emerged out of now where, it was indescribable and something unlike anything she had ever felt. Green hues were wide and desperate, and in the chaos and stampede of people running for the exits, a chair lay broken beside her. Plucking the chair leg from the floor she raised it over her shoulder before letting it fly through the air to smash against the mans back with as much strength she could muster. While the impact wasn’t enough to knock the gun from his hand, it caught him off guard, allowing his victim to flee. And for but a brief second there was a fleeting moment of relief. A moment that was short lived as with her eyes on the woman, she completely missed the man striding forward now recovered from Isabella’s wayward attack. Before she could even react he was grabbing her hair, yanking her backwards and evoking an abrupt scream from the paramedic. “No, no! Let me go!“ She yelled, struggling with all her might as she attempted to use her elbows to hit out at the man that now held her in his vice grip.
...
There had only been one thing on Jesse’s mind after his dark hues broke contact with a blonde he hadn’t seen in over a month and it was his sisters. As the chaos developed around him, the frantic search for the two most important women in his life he had moved people out of the way. People he had deemed as innocent and who certainly didn’t deserve to be caught in the crossfire of a war he should have seen coming. As he turned the corner, the scream pierced his hearing causing his dark hues to direct themselves in the area where it had come from because it was one he had known all too well. He could remember the last time he heard her scream when she was scared and it was the night their father got arrested.
He ran in the direction his younger sister was in, his eyes focused on the male who had her hair in his grasp. He swung his fist into the male’s side, knowing it would throw him off and release the grip he had on Isabella’s hair. He reached up, grabbing the back of his collar and yanking him back. He swung his fist directly into his fist to knock him down. “If you try to get back up you’re not going to like how it ends.” He threatened, letting his anger get the best him without looking over at his sister and not even fully aware of the fact that his piece that was resting against his back was more than visible to her now.

IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CHAOS August 22nd w/ @sybilsbclat
Jesse had been drifting through the crowds trying to find his sisters, knowing the only thing he wanted to do was get them to safety. As he was shifting through the sea of people running around in a panic, his eyes landed on a woman who seemed to be sitting on the ground stitching someone up in the middle of all the gunfire. He knelt down, making his way towards her. “Hey! Hey! Come on. You have to move somewhere else. You can’t stay here.”

VIOLET MARINO
Violet couldn’t help but give him a pointed look back, tilting her head in the same fashion. His absence had been felt by her and she figured for him it must not have been the same. “It means I barely ever see you anymore.” Almost funny how their communication had reduced when they were in the same town compared to her being across the state. “And who do we get to give our protective sister speeches too? You planning on bringing someone around soon because I’ve had it revamped and prepared since high school!” she teased, easier for her that time to know about his love life considering they were in the same school. “We all have work Jesse,” she couldn’t help the sigh. Sometimes it felt like he was avoiding them purposefully.
Tumblr media
...
Jesse hadn’t lied. He was working most of the time but it was mostly being around Amalia twenty four seven after what had happened with Vasili at Palooza. A soft sigh left his lips as he reached up, scratching the area under his chin as he nodded his head. “You’re right. I should be coming home more often. Things have just been a little more intense at the shop after what happened at Palooza.” He chuckled lowly at her words about her waiting for him to bring someone home since high school. “After what happened,” the whole ex-fiance cheating on him thing it kind of felt like he shouldn’t take that step again and honestly the second he had tried to take a step in that direction it was with a Volkov for God sake’s. He exhaled as he pressed his lips together shortly afterwards. “I know... I know. It’s like I said things have been intense since Palooza.”

DIANA’S APARTMENT August 23rd w/ @dianaxvolkov
His eyes never left her when the Volkov’s exposed themselves to the crowd, the demeanor of the woman whose body he knew better than the back of his hand had been different than what he was used to but all he could think was how he told her things were much more complicated than either of them were willing to admit and she only proved her point when she did what she had done amidst all the chaos. He had watched her as her eyes made contact with his for the spilt second before Isaak took his deadly shot into Julia’s big sister shaking all of the Scorpions down to their core but he quickly jumped to protect his sisters.
The aftermath of that situation left him feeling completely empty and somehow on his walk home he found himself standing in front of her door. He knew better than to come crawling in front of her door at midnight after everything that had just happened but the fact she had been willing to be apart of what had happened with innocent people there... with his fucking sisters there. He raised his hand up and began to pound on the door, not really giving a shit who the hell was around. “Open the door, Diana.” He called against the door, putting the palm of his hand against the archway, knowing he was more than happy to pound against the door again if she didn’t come open it. “Come on, I know you’re in there.”

ALESSIA DE SOLANO:
Alessia looked up at him and gave him wide eyes as they settled back on the crowd roaming amongst them. To her, it looked like most people liked each other and got along. On the other hand, some conversations were discreet and hidden seeming to be a part of shady nature. She didn’t know if there was some unspoken rule happening but, she lived blissfully in her ignorance as she sipped on her martini. “I guess people are just doing what they want,” she noted, “Per usual. You could never stop humans from doing what they want to do,” Alessia added and shrugged.
“Sounds absolutely thrilling, Jesse,” she mused sarcastically.
Tumblr media
...
Jesse nodded his head as he rested his arms on the surface of the bar. “Guess you have a point there.” He chuckled as he brushed his tongue along his lower lip, picking up his glass and taking a sip of it as his dark hues rested on the woman sitting next to him. “We could always make this better for the both of us,” he muttered as he set his glass down onto the surface. He didn’t know why he actually suggested that since he brought someone to this wedding but he also was pretty much down to do whatever got his mind off of Diana.

RENATA GARZA
Tumblr media
“It’s an open bar, it didn’t take that much convincing.” Ren said with a little laugh. The fact that she would have him as a date wasn’t so bad either. She moved onto the dance floor with him and curled her hand around the back of his neck while her body pressed against his, her other hand in his. “Who taught you how to dance?” She questioned, unsure if he knew more than the few steps they were taking or perhaps he was the type to just let the girl do the work while he enjoyed the experience.
“I don’t think I should blow your ego more than it already is.” Her eyes said it all. From their last encounter together, the marks they’d both left on each other was enough to indicate that he’d left his gentlemanly ways at the door. She pressed her lips to his again, smiling when he conceded. “I’ll have to wear you down one at a time.” Ren teased, knowing at the back of her head mind that she’d need to slow down also.
...
Tumblr media
Jesse laughed as he tilted his head up towards the sky at her question about who taught him to dance. “My mom.” He looked back down to her as the two of them swayed to the beat of the slow music. “She always told me she was just preparing me for my own wedding day because the last thing any woman needed was her new husband to step on her toes.” He lifted his hand to spin her underneath it before pulling her back into him.
“I don’t know. You look pretty good on your knees, Ren.” He brushed his tongue along his lower lip as his dark hues danced around the sea of people around them, his hand resting on the small of her back. He tilted his head down towards her when she leaned up and kissed him. “That’s what you think.” He chuckled, gesturing with his head for her to start walking and he would follow.

AEVA DANG
Often, Aeva found herself in the presence of someone whose goal in the conversation was to somehow either impress her needlessly or just appear to be the big kahuna he thought he was. She had met more than her fair share of men who simply wanted to let her hear how rich they were, how hot they were, and how hung they were. What these men didn’t realise was that she honestly, genuinely didn’t give a fuck unless they were paying her.
Unfortunately, their kind had somehow followed her even at this beautifully-planned wedding reception, much to her chagrin. She was neck-deep into another typical egoistic man in a suit, droning on and on about the stocks he had on the market, when someone suddenly crashed into Mr. High and Mighty, ruining his suit with a spilt drink and effectively cutting their conversation short.
Appearing sympathetic, she grimaced from where she stood, looking on as the male huffed away, only to turn to the culprit upon their utterance. “Thank you for that.” Aeva immediately said, sounding wholly relieved as she dropped the concern on her face. “Honestly. I was looking for an out. He was going on and on about his stock portfolio, trying to impress me, and I honestly don’t give a damn.” she further shared, carding her fingers through highlighted locks in an exhausted manner. “But seriously, thank you.”

Jesse let his eyes drift towards Aeva as a charming smile came along his features. “You looked like you were three seconds away from punching the guy so all I did was save his nose a visit to the hospital.” He teased as he held his glass between his index finger and his thumb. “I don’t even know what the hell a stock portfolio is.” He laughed. It wasn’t necessarily a lie but he also was mostly trying to find common ground with the woman before he started to pull back the serious questions. One of the Scorpions had come up to him and asked him to look into the woman in front of him and it wasn’t something he planned on saying no to especially since it was something that wouldn’t blow his cover as one of them. As far as anyone is concerned he was only here because his sister was the best woman. “No problem,” he gestured towards her glass. “Do you need me to top you off?”

I've been beaten down I've been kicked around But she takes it all for me And I lost my faith In my darkest days But she makes me want to believe

THE MARCHAND WEDDING August 22nd w/ @a-dang
Jesse had been pulled aside and asked to give one of the guests a check out. A woman named Aeva Dang made her way into the event and now it was up to him to figure out why. He brushed his tongue along his lower lip as he grabbed a drink from the bar, sipping on it as he made his way over towards the dark haired woman who looked like she was in a conversation that was going to bore her to death which had worked out for his benefit. He bumped into the male, spilling his drink all over him. “Oh man... I’m so sorry I wasn’t looking where I was going.” He grimaced as the male walked away, huffing and puffing. It was until the male was out of view when a lopsided grin came along his features. “You looked like you were in need of saving.”
