A new beginning: An OC story
Chapter 6
“Remedy? Remedy wake up! C’mon Remedy wake up!” Remedy’s optics slowly onlined, her vision fuzzy as she tried to process her surroundings. Bright lights flooding her vision and the sounds of machines beeping, she then realized she was in the medical bay laying on one of the berths. “Thank the Allspark you’re alright. You been passed out for two days.” Remedy shot up from the berth in complete shock, one minute she’s finding of this dark secret about her lover, the next she finds out she’s been unconscious for two days. Remedy suddenly looked down at her abdomen. “What happened to the stab wound?” Ratchet looked up from his datapad with a confused look on his face. “What stab wound? You fainted, that’s it.” Remedy’s frame started shaking and she let out a heavy sigh.
I went to see Drift, his habsuit was dark and there was someone standing in the corner. It was Drift but he didn’t sound like Drift, his voice was dark and menacing, a voice of pure evil.” She clenched her servos and started crying. “His optics were so horrible! I was so terrified I couldn’t move, then he stabbed me. I can still see that sick smile on his face.” Ratchet showed concern for the femme as he leaned over and gave her a gentle reassuring hug. “Remedy, it was only a dream. I know you’re scared of Drift’s past self but he’s a changed mech and I can tell he cares for you and wants to protect you. Now lay back down you need your rest. Your stress levels are really high, perhaps you should take some time off from working. I’ll have First Aid bring you some energon.”
~two days ago~
Drift had come into the medbay looking for Remedy, he hadn’t seen or heard from her since their date and he was worried. He walked in seeing Ratchet set Remedy on the nearest berth, he immediately rushed over. “Ratchet, what happened?! Is Remedy ok?!” Ratchet looked at Drift and gave him a worried look, he began hooking up various wires to Remedy’s frame and checking her vitals. “She fainted suddenly, she came in here just a few moments ago to do some work, we were talking and she just fainted.” Drift could barely comprehend what he was hearing. How does someone perfectly healthy suddenly faint? He looked over at Remedy, lubricant starting to build up in his optics. “Drift did anything unusual happen on your date? Did Remedy seem off in any way?” Drift shrugged, Remedy was perfectly fine that night she was happy and didn’t seem sick at all in any way.
“She was perfectly normal, she was her perfect beautiful self. Nothing out of the ordinary.” Ratchet nodded and continued scanning Remedy’s frame. He then looked at Drift with a serious look on his face. “Did the two of you do anything... intimate?” Drift almost choked, his optics wide at such an assumption. “No we never did anything like that! I would never ask to interface with her on the first date!” Ratchet gave a slight chuckle. “Well I know how bots can be at such an age, Remedy is still in that stage where she’s looking for a little fun, I’m surprised she didn’t suggest it. I have no problems with her interfacing, she’s a big girl, she can make her own decisions.” Drift gave an awkward smile, he and Remedy had just become a couple, there was no need to rush into such situations.
“So what exactly happened when she fainted, if I may ask?” Ratchet sighed and looked over at Drift. “She came in here and she didn’t even realize where she was. Then she asked me about your past, I told her everything. That’s when she fainted.” Drift looked like he was about to break down, he wanted to keep his past a secret from Remedy a little while longer to avoid scaring her. Now he’s worried that his secret has caused her to be in this current state, he was completely overrun with guilt. “I was afraid to tell her. I was worried she would be freaked out if I told her on the spot, I just wanted to protect her. I love her Ratchet, more than any words or actions can express.” Ratchet placed a servo on Drift’s shoulder. “It’s not your fault kid, Remedy has always had a bit of anxiety she’ll be fine.” Drift sighed then gave Remedy a gentle kiss on her helm before taking his leave.
~present day~
“He came back every few hours just to check on you. When he said he loved you, he meant it.” Remedy was completely stunned, it was one date and already he’s practically committed his life to her. It was seven o’clock when Drift decided to come check on Remedy, seeing her fully awake for once made his spark soar. Ratchet advised him not to stay too long so Remedy could rest, he stood by to make sure Remedy wouldn’t faint again. “Sweetspark I was so worried about you. I couldn’t recharge with the thought of losing you.” Drift gently took Remedy’s servo in his and placed soft kisses on her knuckles. “I’m fine Drift, really but thank you for your concern.” Drift looked into her orange optics, they still held that brightness he saw only a few nights ago. The brightness he saw when they first met in the hallway, the brightness that would light his spark.
“I’m so sorry Remedy, this is all my fault. I should have just told you but I was worried you would be afraid of me, see me as the monster I once was.” Remedy then cupped his faceplates in her servos, looking him dead in the optics. “Drift, your past is dark but you can create a brighter future, we can get through this. I wanna be there to help you find that light.” Drift leaned in and connected lip plates with her in a passionate kiss. After a few moments they finally pulled apart. “I’ve already found that light in you my dear.” Ratchet cleared his throat to announce he was still in the room. “I hate to break up such a beautiful romantic moment between you two but Remedy really needs her rest. You can come back in the morning to see her, I promise she isn’t going anywhere.” Drift gave Remedy one last kiss then thanked Ratchet, he then made his way over to Swerve’s to meet with Rodimus and the others.
Drift had joined everyone at the bar, Chromedome and Rewind were talking, Swerve was making jokes and Rodimus was being Rodimus. “So how is she?” Swerve suddenly asked. Drift took a sip of his high grade and looked over to the others. “She’ll be fine, just a panic attack supposedly. Ratchet didn’t let me stay too long but at least she was awake.” Swerve smiled as he cleaned out the now empty glasses from the bar. “Well she’s in good hands, actually she’s technically in Pharma’s hands.” Drift suddenly spat out his high grade and Rodimus started laughing hysterically. “Swerve you did not just say that? That is sick, this is my soon to be sparkmate you’re talking about.” Swerve let out a nervous chuckle. “Sorry Drift, I guess it is a little early to start making jokes like that. With all do respect Ratchet will take good care of her.”
Rodimus was still laughing to the point of falling out of his chair and the others just looked at him both amused and concerned for him. “So are you and Remedy officially together?” Rewind had suddenly spoken through Roddy’s laughing fit. Drift looked over at the smaller bot with a smile on his face. “We’ve only been on one date but it was amazing, I just felt something click between us.” Rodimus then leaned up from the floor, a sly smirk spread across his face. “was it your interface panels?” The captain then went back to his fit of laughter and Drift gave him a subtle kick to his abdomen. Rodimus seized his laughter and pulled himself from the floor. “I’m sorry but you really should make a move on her soon, to show that you’re serious about being with her. I’m not talking about interfacing, I’m talking about asking her to be your sparkmate.”
The others stared at the captain for a few seconds, Chromedome finally broke the silence. Rodimus, that is probably the only good advice you’ve given. No offense.” Rodimus simply shrugged. After some time Whirl had come along to join everyone with Nightshade behind him, Rung had suggested she go out and actually talk to other bots and open up more. “Guys This is Nightshade, Remedy’s friend.” He then nudged Nightshade forward. “Nightshade these are some of the guys we’re forced to be around.” Nightshade didn’t say anything she just gave them a small wave and sat down next to Rodimus. They all enjoyed some high grade and Remedy started to open up, talking to Chromedome and Rewind then occasionally conversing with Swerve. She asked Drift how Remedy was doing since the incident.
“Nightshade huh? Ex con?” The voice of the captain himself rang through Nightshade’s audio receptors as he continued question after question. Nightshade practically froze as Rodimus continued firing random questions at her. “Have you and Remedy known each other long? Have the two of you been traveling together the whole time?” He was in awe as he continued asking all these questions but Nightshade remained still, unable to get a single word out. Her faceplates heated up as a deep blue blush appeared. Her wings lowered gently and Rodimus gave a questioning look. “So what’s it like to fly?” He then reached out, his servo gently grazing over Nightshade’s wing causing her to to suddenly stand up and rush out of the bar.”
Rodimus was taken back by the sudden actions then looked over to the others in hopes of an explanation. Whirl sighed then spoke up. “She’s a seeker and a seeker’s wings are very sensitive, that’s what she told me.” Chromedome then butted in. “You probably just frightened her, Remedy told me she suffered damage to her wings and now she’s grounded, she can’t fly.” Rodimus looked down at his glass of high grade, here he was trying to be friendly then he triggers someone’s PTSD. ‘Way to go screw up.’ His thoughts were completely clouded replaying the scene over and over again, the shocked look on Nightshade’s face when he touched her wing. Just another dumb decision he made, dumb decisions seemed to be the only thing he’s good for.
Rodimus went to go look for Nightshade so he could apologize for invading her personal space, after searching for about twenty minutes he found her in the observatory sitting against the wall. He took a deep breath then slowly approached her. The large seeker looked at the captain, due to her size even when sitting Rodimus had to tilt his head up a little to make optic contact. “Nightshade, normally I don’t apologize for anything but what I did was wrong. I shouldn’t have touched you the way I did or asked you about flying. I wasn’t aware you were disabled.” Nightshade blinked then turned her helm away from Rodimus. He sighed and sat in front of her. After what felt like an eternity, Nightshade finally spoke up. “Thank you.” Her voice was barely that of a whisper but Rodimus still managed to pick it up. “Nightshade, I know people probably see you as something you wish they didn’t see you as. wether it be a seeker under Megatron’s army or someone who’s made the dumbest decisions of his life and continues to make those dumb decisions.”
Nightshade turned her helm to look back at the young prime. “I never open up like this to anyone except Rung or even Drift, When I invited you and Remedy to join us I was well aware you two were wanted criminals but I didn’t wanna leave you two to die, that’s probably the only good decision I’ve made.” Nightshade still remained silent as Rodimus spoke to her. The look in his optics showed sincere concern and guilt. Nightshade heaved a shaky sigh and started to speak. “I d-didn’t run because you of-fended me. I ran b-because of something else.” Rodimus was shocked as he heard her speak, she almost sounded like she was crying but no lubricant seemed to leak from her optics. Maybe it was just her nerves? “Why did you run then?” Nightshade took a deep breath and looked the captain in the optics.
“I ran from my feelings, for you.”

A new beginning: An OC story
Chapter 5
Remedy reached the medical bay and was greeted by Ratchet, “I take it you had an eventful evening last night?” She didn’t respond, her processor was fuzzy with the thoughts of what Nightshade had said about Drift. She couldn’t think straight her helm was aching and she wanted to scream. Ratchet noticed this and gently shook her shoulder plating. “Remedy! Remedy can you hear me?” She finally returned to reality, looking around at her surroundings remembering where she was. She turned to look at Ratchet who had a worried look on his face. “W-what? What happened? Ratchet when did I get here?” Remedy was so confused, not even remembering walking into the medbay. “Remedy why don’t you sit down so I can run a quick diagnostic scan on you, you’re not yourself.” Remedy nodded and sat on the nearest medical berth, allowing Ratchet to run a simple scan on her. “Everything seems fine. Did something happen last night, Did Drift hurt you?” Remedy put her servos up in defense. “No of course not! But While we’re talking about him, I gotta ask. Was he a decepticon?”
Ratchet heaved a heavy sigh and gave Remedy a serious look. “Yes. Drift was once called Deadlock, he was a viscous fighter and a killer. He wasn’t all bad Remedy, he had it rough and I saved his life.” After hearing the whole story, Remedy was absolutely stunned and could barely process what she had just heard. Knowing that her lover went through an addiction and later became this evil decepticon, made her processor go all over the place. Thoughts of Drift possibly hurting her or others flooded her processor, causing her to faint. Ratchet began to panic and started shouting her name.
Nightshade was in Rung’s office for her scheduled session, she had been a bit more fidgety lately and needed to talk to someone. “Maybe I’m just stressed about Remedy, I mean she’s dating Drift and I’ve heard about his past and I’m worried about her. She’s too damn stubborn to realize that.” Rung nodded while typing on his datapad. “I hate to pry into your more personal life but, are you dating anyone? Have you thought maybe you’re jealous that Remedy has found someone else to spend time with?” Nightshade’s face turned a tint of blue and she looked a bit offended, sure she had been lonely since Remedy started hanging out with Drift but she wasn’t jealous.
“Remedy is my amica endura, we been best friends since we met. I’m happy that she found someone, I just hope this relationship actually works for her.” Nightshade sighed as she remembered all the rebel Cybertronians they had met on their journey, Remedy had dated some of them over time but the relationships were usually cut short due to different reasons. Nightshade hated to see her fall in love only to get hurt. “Have you thought of finding a potential sparkmate, Nightshade?” Nightshade’s optics went wide and she sat up suddenly. There was someone on her mind, someone she had developed feelings for the first moment she had laid eyes on them. Rung raised an optic ridge at the large seeker suspiciously. “There is someone isn’t there? Someone you wish to be with, someone you have very strong feelings for.” Nightshade had an obvious blush appear across her faceplates, the thought of the one she had fallen for so hard made her spark burn. “I wanna tell him how I feel but he would never notice me.”
Rung looked at the large femme with a questioning look on his face. “Who is this mech you have such deep feelings for? I promise what you tell me will kept between us. Anything you say to me never leaves this room.” Nightshade put her hands over her face thinking about wether or not she should continue talking about this or not. Part of her wanted to get this secret off her chassis but another part of her was telling her these feelings are stupid and should be forgotten entirely.
“I can’t say who it is. He would never accept me, he looks right through me. He flirts with Remedy, who could blame him she’s gorgeous and she’s not afraid of anything!” Rung was shocked by her words, he understood her pain and gave a heavy sigh. “Nightshade, I feel that I know exactly who you’re talking about. But please know that you are not in Remedy’s shadow, you are not as social as she is and you have a logical reason for it. Do not feel the need to shame yourself just because you’re not social.” Nightshade gave a weak smile and thanked Rung for his kind words, after another twenty five minutes the session ended and Nightshade was dismissed from Rung’s Office.

A new beginning: An OC story
Chapter 4
Drift was outside the ship waiting for Remedy, Rodimus had already left with a few of the others so Drift was left alone with his own thoughts. After about 15 minutes Remedy finally showed up. Drift stared in awe at the pink femme as she gave him a sweet smile, her bright orange optics appearing to glow under the stars. “Wow, you look absolutely beautiful.” Remedy smiled brightly at the large mech as he took her servo in his and leaded her through this new planet. The scenery was absolutely beautiful at night, the ground appeared to glow a bright blue and the trees and other vegetation glowed the same colors but appeared much brighter than the ground itself. The trees twisting and bending into interesting shapes, different flowers and other plants growing everywhere and up ahead was a large tree next to a large waterfall.
“I came down here earlier today and found this place. I thought it was perfect and I had to bring you here.” Remedy was in complete awe at the sight before her, she had never seen anything so beautiful. She suddenly wrapped her arms around Drift and looked into his bright blue optics. “I love it. This is the most amazing thing ever, no one has ever shown me such beauty.” Drift froze for a moment then stared back into Remedy’s optics, he then put his servos on her waist and laid his helm against hers. The two stayed like this for a while, enjoying each other’s embrace and the peaceful scenery. Drift gently pulled Remedy towards the small body of water and began to slow dance with her to the sound of the waterfall and any resident creatures surrounding the area.
After an hour of cliché slow dancing next to a waterfall, the two decided to rest under the nearby tree, exchanging stories and laughs and picking some of the beautiful wild flowers growing around them. “This has definitely been the best date I ever been on, and I been on dates with a lot of different mechs in the past.” Drift let out a soft chuckle as he weaved some flowers together. “So who all did you date, if you don’t mind my asking?” Remedy laughed and shook her helm. “Well for a while I dated Sideswipe, and I dated Sunstreaker. At the same time, no I wasn’t two timing I was literally in a polyamorous relationship with the both of them.” Drift started laughing at the thought of Remedy dating the twins. “So what happened with that? Seriously I have to know how that ended, unless you don’t wanna say then I totally get it.” Remedy smiled and laughed at Drift’s caring nature. “Let’s just say neither of them are big on sharing, especially when it came to my attention. They would argue and be at each other’s throats, it just wasn’t a healthy relationship for me to be in.” After hearing a few stories of Remedy’s past relationships Drift’s smile started to fade after hearing Remedy was in such unhealthy relationships, it made his spark ache to know Remedy had been through so much pain due to mechs lying to her and cheating on her or just being straight up assholes to her.
“Remedy, I’m sorry you had to go through that. I can’t imagine devoting myself to someone only to have them hurt you like that.” Remedy gave him a reassuring smile. Drift had finished weaving the flowers he had picked and made them into a crown. He then placed the flower crown on Remedy’s helm. “How do I look?” Drift had an obvious blue blush across his face as Remedy lifted her helm to look him in his optics. “You look like an angel sent from Primus himself.” The two slowly started leaning closer to the other until their faces were mere inches from each other, before they knew it their dermas had connected and sparks were flying as they shared a passionate kiss.
After the night was over everyone started heading back to the Lost Light, Drift had woken up apparently he and Remedy had dozed off together, instead of waking the sleeping femme he simply picked her up bridal style and made his way back. He finally reached her room and gently laid her on her berth, kissing her on her helm. Nightshade was nowhere to be found, he figured she must be somewhere else on the ship. Drift decided to stay with Remedy until Nightshade returned, he knew it wasn’t necessary but he felt better knowing she’s safe as long as he’s there with her. He also didn’t want her to wake up and think he just left her without a word. Nightshade had finally returned to the habsuite after having an early session with Rung, her optics went wide at the sight of Drift sitting next to Remedy who was currently in recharge. Nightshade started thinking multiple things about the sight before her. “Uh... what’s going on here?” Drift flinched suddenly, hearing the seeker’s voice. He then realized how questionable the situation looked, him sitting close by Remedy while she slept, it did look rather weird. “Nightshade I promise all I did was bring her here, she fell asleep so I brought her here and I didn’t wanna leave her by herself. Now that you’re here I’ll be taking my leave.” He got up walking past Nightshade to go to his own habsuite.
Remedy awoke from recharge a little later than normal, her optics onlining and adjusting to the lighting of her habsuite. She looked over and saw Nightshade on her own berth greeting the young nurse without even looking up from her datapad. “You’re finally up. I assume you had an eventful night?” Remedy stretched, the satisfying pop of her stiff joints being heard. “Last night was amazing, I never experienced anything like it, he is amazing.” Nightshade rolled her optics and laughed at Remedy’s awestruck behavior. Remedy was always like this after a first date, she sees it as the most romantic thing in the universe and becomes this love struck sparkling.
“Remedy I’m glad to see you’re happy and everything but seriously, don’t give in to him so easily. I think Drift is great but his past is just awful and I don’t want that to be an issue between you guys.” Remedy waved her off, clearly not taking what her friend says seriously. “Even if he was this terrifying decepticon, he’s not anymore so why are you so concerned?” Nightshade sighed pinching the bridge of her nose. “Remedy, decepticons are known to deceive everyone we all know this. A while back I had heard some of the others saying Drift never abandoned his past, that he’s putting on an act to gain trust, at least that’s what THEY believe.” Remedy scoffed and made her way for the door. “They’re just stupid rumors Shades, they aren’t true, Drift is not a con and he would never hurt anyone. Now if you don’t mind I have some work to do in the medbay, I’ll see you later.” And with that Remedy left the habsuite, hurt and anger boiling inside her as she made her way to the medical bay.

A new beginning: An OC story
Chapter 3
Drift stood outside the medbay fidgeting with his digits nervously. With only five days until their next stop, today Drift had to ask Remedy out. “What if she says no? What if she knows of my past and gets scared? No Remedy would never hate me for my past, she’s so forgiving.” Drift continued to argue with himself about wether or not this was a good idea or not. As far as he knew, Remedy was unaware of his previous actions during the war, hell Remedy left Cybertron when the war was just getting intense so surely she had no knowledge of Deadlock whatsoever. He let out a shaky breath and walked into the medbay.
Ratchet was showing Remedy some of the more basic medical procedures that would be common while aboard the Lost Light. Remedy then heard the door open and due to her curiosity she immediately looked up seeing Drift walk in, that goofy side smile plastered on his face. Remedy gave her friend a warm smile before asking Ratchet if she could have a couple minutes with the mech, Ratchet nodded giving the two a warm smile and left the two alone. Drift walked over to Remedy, his pedes heavy, the feeling of more doubt setting in. Remedy noticed this and immediately had him sit down next to her, she looked at him confused about this strange behavior.
“Drift are you alright? You seem off.” He gave her a reassuring smile showing that he was in fact fine and in no need of any medical assistance, seeing how she cared so much for his wellbeing made his spark beat harder. “I’m perfectly fine, I came here to ask you something. Our next stop is supposed to be a beautiful sight, glowing plants and waterfalls, it’s beautiful! I would be honored if you joined me to see the sights.” He then took Remedy’s servo into his and gave her a pleading look. Remedy was stunned by his sudden proposal. Her processor running a million miles a second, something inside her was telling her to say no, all the previous sparkbreak and pain flashing before her. She looked back at Drift then shook her memories away. “I’d love to go with you Drift, it’ll be fun and give me some time to relax. Drift leaned over and gave the femme a huge hug.
Later that night Remedy was in her shared room with Nightshade humming happily and thinking about her upcoming date with Drift. Nightshade took notice of Remedy’s overly giddy behavior. “Someone’s in a good mood, did Swerve offer you more free high grade?” Remedy was pulled from her thoughts as Nightshade waved her servo in front of her face. “I have a date with Drift! Yeah that’s right, he asked me out I have a hot ass mother fucking date!” Remedy was practically jumping up and down frantically with excitement and wrapped her arms around the larger femme, pure joy and happiness clear on her face. Nightshade patted Remedy’s helm and pulled away from her strong embrace.
“Rems are you sure you wanna go through this? I know you really like Drift and all and you see him as this prince charming and shit but don’t you remember the last time a relationship didn’t work out?” Remedy thought for a moment but shrugged. “Remedy the guy cheated on you and you beat the shit out of him and then you went through a major depression for primus knows how long. How could you possibly not remember that?!” Remedy looked off to the side in attempt to avoid the topic altogether, she remembered what happened, she remembered all her past relationships, some healthy some toxic beyond belief. Something about Drift made Remedy happy, she saw true love in his optics, he saw her as more than just a pretty face, he saw her as her own independent bot. “I know you’re trying to protect me, I know you want what’s best for me but seriously, Drift is the one who will make it all better I just know it.” Nightshade sighed in defeat, she knew arguing with the femme would be futile and only anger her, she gave Remedy a reassuring smile and wished her the best of luck on this new journey.
Remedy waltzed her way to the medical bay to finish up some work Ratchet asked to do, it had been a couple days since Drift had asked her out, the scene constantly replaying in her processor. “Well I haven’t seen you this happy in eons.” Remedy was snapped from her thoughts when she heard Ratchet’s voice, he was sitting at his work station looking over some datapads. “Well I do have a date tomorrow night, with a very special mech.” Ratchet looked up from his datapad giving a fake amused look to the young femme. Really now, and who might this mech be?” He gave her a small smile and handed her a small box with a data pad under it. “I assume this is from your admirer, Drift.” Remedy had a shocked and confused look on her face as she took the items Ratchet gave her. “Why would he leave me a gift? Wait how did you know Drift asked me out?” Ratchet gave her a small smile and set his datapads on the table. “Well Drift came in here a couple cycles ago and for some odd reason he assumed he needed my permission to ask you out. He’s a good kid, he’ll treat you like a princess.” Remedy rolled her optics and opened the small box, inside was an assortment of her favorite energon sweets, she then lifted up the datapad with a message written on it.
“Remedy, I remembered you telling me how much you loved these, luckily I had some saved when we left Cybertron. No amount of sweetness can compare to yours, you’re so caring and beautiful and I can’t wait for our date tomorrow night. ~Drift
Remedy read over the message a few more times then looked over at Ratchet. “Don’t look at me, I didn’t tell him to spoil your ass.” Remedy sighed dreamily at the thought of someone actually loving her and taking the time to do something so sweet for her. Ratchet shook his helm at her childish behavior and urged her to get her work done.
The day had finally come, the crew finally reached their stop before continuing on their wild goose chase for the Knights of Cybertron. Their stay at this new planet would only last 24 hours so Everyone on board was in a hurry to see the sights. That evening Remedy was getting ready for her date, waxing her paint job and looking herself over multiple times. “How do I look?” Nightshade sat up from her berth letting out an annoyed groan at her friend. “I already told you, you look great and if he doesn’t say anything then he’s not worth it.” Remedy giggled and rolled her optics at the seeker. “So are you coming to see this planet before we leave? Ultra Magnus suggested everyone leave the ship at least once to check it out.”
Nightshade let out a sad sigh and laid back down on her berth face down. Remedy look at her friend, obviously wanting and explanation for her behavior. “I’m not going, I don’t wanna go by myself and I have no one to go with me.” Remedy Grabbed her large servo in an attempt to pull her off the berth but to no avail. “Nightshade c’mon Rodimus is going he said it’ll be fun, although his definition of fun seems to involve impulsive behavior so maybe it’s safer you stay here.” Nightshade quickly sat up with a loud groan, she gave Remedy an Annoyed look. “Fine I’ll go, only because you wont stop bugging me. And Remedy, be careful on your date with Drift.”
Remedy look at the seeker confused at her warning. “If you think Me and Drift are gonna-“ “NOT THAT REMEDY!” The smaller femme was taken back by her friend’s sudden outburst. “Remedy you’re not gonna like hearing this. I had heard some things about Drift, bad things.” Remedy tilted her head even more confused. Nightshade sighed and places her servos on Remedy’s shoulders. “Drift was a once a con, a horrible con by the name of Deadlock. Whirl told me all about it, he killed many. From what Whirl told me, Deadlock was a terrifying bounty hunter who later traded his guns for swords changed his name and became this whole born again spiritualist or whatever.” Remedy burst into laughter, she couldn’t believe what she was hearing from her friend. “So you’re telling me that Drift, the sweet quiet mech who asked me out is actually some murderous decepticon named Deadlock?! Shades that’s quite a story and my god it would make for a human soap opera plot line but seriously c’mon.” Nightshade gave her a serious look. “If you don’t believe me go ask Ratchet or any of the others, they’ll tell you the same thing. Just, maybe ask about it tomorrow I mean the guy did ask you out and you’d be a glitch to stand him up.” Remedy nodded her helm and left the shared berthroom to find Drift.
“So... you nervous? You look nervous, like you look like you’re gonna fall over and die.” Drift and Rodimus were headed to meet the others outside the ship, Drift had told Remedy to meet him there. “What if she doesn’t show up? A femme like her, any other attractive mech could have asked her out and she decides to go with him.” Rodimus looked slightly offended by Drift’s assumptions. “Hey I would never ask Remedy out behind your back! And I really doubt she would say yes to someone else when she already said yes to you.” He put his arm around Drift’s shoulder in reassurance, a cocky smile on his face. “If you’re so worried about losing her then do something that will make her beg for you, talk dirty to her. Tell her ‘Damn girl are you from outer space? Because your ass is out of this world!’ Believe me chicks dig that shit.” Drift gave the orange mech a disgusted look, the fact that Rodimus even suggested such a stupid pick up line. “Rodimus I want her to love me, not slap me.” After a few moments of silence that led to laughter the two mechs headed out to the main entrance of the ship.

A new beginning: An OC story
Chapter 2
Another week had passed and Remedy and Nightshade were feeling right at home. Nightshade was slowly starting to come out of her shell, mostly because Remedy would force her out of their room. Remedy had dragged Nightshade over to Swerve’s bar so she could meet some of the others, Remedy was sitting at the bar chatting and laughing with Swerve, Chromedome and Rewind, each of them exchanging stories and jokes. Meanwhile Nightshade was sitting by herself just trying to avoid the noise coming from the other side of the room. After some time Whirl had asked to join her, she happily allowed him to join her in the mild silence of the dark corner.
“You don’t talk much do you?” Nightshade Kept her gaze at the wall next to her. “this just isn’t really my scene you know?” Whirl tilted his helm in confusion. “Then why are you here? Wouldn’t you be happier somewhere else?” Nightshade gave a long sigh and looked over at the bar where Remedy and a few of the others were having a good time. “I wish I could be more open like Remedy, despite what she did back on Cybertron the thought of being hated never really occurred to her.” Whirl looked over at the others and just groaned. Popularity is overrated, sure she probably loves being everyone’s friend but she’ll learn that it’s not all happy fun time around here. Did they tell you guys about the sparkeater that was on board a while back?” Nightshade was snapped from her thoughts. “There was a what?!”
Over at the bar Remedy was telling everyone about the many planets she and Nightshade have been to on their runaway adventure over the past couple thousand years. “I gotta say my favorite planet we been to was Earth, we pretty much used our holo avatars the entirety we were there. It’s amazing no one found us, I mean weren’t a majority of Autobots and Decepticons on earth as well? Oh and the music that the organics have is amazing!” The others simply laughed and continued on asking more about their adventures. Swerve slid another glass of high grade to Remedy. “So what exactly do you plan to do when all this is over, you know the whole finding the knights of Cybertron thing?” Remedy’s sweet cheerful smile suddenly turned to a scared and sad frown, she then took a swig of the high grade. “Ratchet said I could still possibly be arrested for what I did and Nightshade could be killed.” The others stared at her in disbelief, Rewind then gave Remedy a small hug.
“They won’t hurt you guys, they just can’t! Nightshade doesn’t seem like the type to hurt anyone and you’re too cute to be locked away.” Remedy gave a weak smile and thanked her new friends for caring so much for her and Nightshade despite them still being strangers on the large ship. Suddenly Rodimus walked into the bar and sat next to Remedy. “Well helloooo nurse~ how are you enjoying your stay? What am I talking about, you love it here! Look at you being all social and getting so much attention, but I’m sure you’re used to that.” Remedy gave a questioning look, not sure exactly how to respond. “uh.... not really? I kinda been with one other bot for the past couple thousand years.” Rodimus simply gave her a sly smirk. “C’mon Rem a femme like you should get all the attention, you deserve it.” Remedy rolled her optics and turned away from the captain. “I don’t seek attention from anyone.” Rodimus let out a bored sigh but continued to pester the young nurse. “Look you’re an attractive bot I bet there’s someone on this ship you got the hots for.”
Remedy suddenly froze, a faint blush crawling across her face. Sure there was a certain mech who she had thoughts about but she just pushes them aside, besides she’d never tell Rodimus who it was anyway. Knowing him he would probably shout it on the comm system so the whole ship would know who she had feelings for. “I’m gonna go check on Nightshade, I will see you guys later.” She then got up from the bar and walked over to the dark corner where Remedy and Whirl were seated and Whirl left to leave the two alone to talk. Nightshade gave Remedy a concerned look. “What’s wrong? You were having so much fun with the others and Rodimus actually talked to you!” Remedy sighed and sat down across from her good friend. “He always talks to me and it’s always flirting and asking who I have a crush on.” Nightshade lowered her wings in sadness and darted her eyes from Remedy’s gaze. I guess it’s not surprising he would flirt with you, you’re so pretty and I can barely talk to anyone. Wait you don’t have a crush on him do you?!” Remedy raised her servos in defense. “No, hell no I would never- Why would you even assume I liked him?”
“I seen the way he looks at you, and you always said you were a sucker for smooth talkers. Remember the other day when he pulled you from the medbay just so he could ask you about your hobbies and interests, then he started using all those pick up lines?” Remedy Rolled her optics remembering that annoyingly long five minutes of Rodimus asking about her personal interests and saying something stupid. “He’s really annoying, Ultra Magnus must be losing his shit dealing with him. I just wish he wouldn’t ask personal questions about who I have a crush on.” Nightshade suddenly looked at Remedy, her wings perked up in curiosity. “Do you have a crush on someone? You can tell me I promise not to laugh or say anything I swear!” Remedy sighed and gave in. “Ok fine. There is a mech I been thinking a lot about lately. We kinda had an awkward first meeting but something about him made my spark skip a beat.” Nightshade pulled Remedy out of the bar and grabbed her shoulder. “Tell me who it is already!” Remedy took a deep breath and told Nightshade the whole thing. “It’s Drift, but it’s just a crush, a phase nothing more. I told you I can’t do relationships anymore, not after all the pain they’ve caused me.”
Later that night on the opposite side of the Lost Light Rodimus was going over some things with Drift. “So Magnus was saying we should stop at this next planet, no idea what the name of it is but- Drift are you even listening?” Drift had been in a daze the entirety Rodimus was speaking to him. He had been doing this a lot recently and it was starting to get on Rodimus’ nerves. “What’s with you lately, you’re constantly zoning out and ignoring everyone. Drift? DRIFT?!” Drift was pulled from his thoughts from Rodimus’ sudden outburst. “I’m sorry, I just can’t stop thinking about her.” Rodimus gave a questioning look to the ex con. “Who? If there’s someone keeping you from listening to me I’m gonna have a serious talk with them.” Drift sighed and decided to just come clean about the whole thing.
“It’s Remedy, we became friends but I think I like her more than that.” Rodimus simply sat there with his helm on his servo, bored out of his processor as Drift continued talking. “She’s sweet and so beautiful, she’s like an angel. When I look into her optics it’s like seeing the well of allsparks.” Rodimus let out an annoyed groan. “Yeah she’s very hot, funny you mention her because I talked to her over at Swerve’s and I asked her if she had any sort of feelings for anyone.” Drift tilted his helm slightly. “What did she say? did she say who she liked? who is it?” Rodimus leaned back in his chair and thought for a moment. “She didn’t say anything she just kinda got up and left. Swerve said something about her having a bunch of failed relationships and she refuses to let herself fall in love, some bullshit like that.” Drift’s expression changed from that of curiosity to sadness at this new information. “I should’ve known I wouldn’t have a chance with her, she probably wouldn’t feel the same way even if I was to tell her how I feel.”
“She’s a nurse all you gotta do is get hurt and maybe she’ll kiss you better!” Drift gave a deadpan look, he couldn’t believe Rodimus would suggest something so dumb, actually he could believe it. “Ok how about when we get to this next planet you ask her to go check it out with you, Magnus said It’s supposedly full of glowing flowers and amazing scenery. Swerve said she’s obsessed with beautiful scenery, he says despite her not looking for love around here she’s a hopeless romantic.” Drift let his thoughts take over, the kind of thoughts he had been experiencing a lot lately, Thoughts of He and Remedy walking servo in servo, looking into each other’s optics whispering sweet nothings to each other. He wanted no more than to just be with Remedy and make her happy. Seeing her smile made his spark jump and he wished he could see that smile forever. Her caring nature, how she saved the life of a Decepticon knowing it was wrong, she didn’t judge she simply saw someone in need and helped them. She was perfect in every way in his optics, he would one day ask her to be his sparkmate.
“When will we be arriving at this planet?” Rodimus was busy etching little doodles on the top of his desk but suddenly spoke. “I don’t know maybe 5 days or maybe even a week? You know me I barely pay attention to anything Ultra Magnus says. If I were you, I would talk to Remedy but play it cool, be smooth about it femmes love a smooth talking mech.” Drift looked over at Rodimus with skepticism clear on his face. “You’re a smooth talker and you’re still single.” Rodimus looked slightly hurt by that statement. “This isn’t about me, this is about you! Also before you ask Remedy out, you may wanna talk to Ratchet about it.” Drift gave a confused look. Rodimus simply gave a sly smirk. “Apparently Ratchet has known Remedy since she was a sparkling, he practically raised her so he’s basically like her sire. I bet he’s like one of those “dads” like they have on earth, the ones who tell guys they’re not allowed to date their daughter or whatever. Ratchet might throw a wrench at you if you ask Remedy out.” Rodimus then started laughing at the thought of Ratchet beating the shit out any mech who dares to ask out his adopted daughter.
Drift decided to take Rodimus’ advice and talk to Ratchet seeing as how he knew Remedy better than anyone else. He couldn’t help but worry that Ratchet might get angry at him for wanting to ask Remedy out, sure Ratchet had a bit of a temper at times but surely he wouldn’t actually hurt someone without a good reason. Drift stood outside the medbay contemplating wether or not he should go through with it or not, the thought of being told he can’t be with the one bot he so dearly cared about began to eat away at his spark. After a few moments he walked inside the large room. “Ratchet, there’s something I need to ask you.” Ratchet looked up from what he was doing. “What is it Drift I’m a little busy at the moment, Remedy needed a break so I told her to go get some rest.”
Drift stood there fidgeting with his digits, he thought about simply walking away but decided to just go through with it. “Ratchet, I was wondering if it would be alright if I asked Remedy out.” Ratchet looked up from his work with questioning look on his face. “Not sure why you’re asking my permission, Remedy is a full grown femme she can make her own decisions, I just don’t want her dating Rodimus.” Drift let out a relived sigh, at least he wouldn’t have to face being hit with a wrench. “I must warn you Drift that Remedy can be rather stubborn, when she wants something she’ll do whatever it takes to get it. She won’t back down from any conflict, she’s strong headed so if you and her get in an argument just save yourself the trouble and tell her she’s always right.” Drift nodded and thanked Ratchet before leaving the medbay to go recharge, tomorrow he would ask Remedy out on a date.

A new beginning: An OC story
Small intro
Remedy and Nightshade had just boarded the Lost Light, who are Remedy and Nightshade you might ask. Remedy was a simple nurse back on Cybertron. During the war she had helped a large Decepticon seeker who was close to death, her name was Nightshade. The two then fled Cybertron after being caught and they were announced as traitors. After the war the two wound up stranded on a barren planet with a broken ship and a sliver of hope. Rodimus and his crew found the two femmes and brought them on board in hopes they could start all over.
Chapter 1
It had been about 2 weeks since Rodimus and a few of the other’s found Remedy and Nightshade stranded on a small planet in the middle of smack nowhere. Apparently the two had fled Cybertron during the war so they pretty much wandered from planet to planet for the past few thousand years and finally breaking down on a small barren planet with having no luck contacting for help until the Lost Light came around.
Nightshade was a Decepticon seeker, a little larger than most seekers but undoubtedly had the biggest heart of any con out there. Due to personal issues involving her fellow seekers she had become rather quiet and kept to herself when she meets new bots. Remedy on the other hand was a bit more social, always has been. She was also a nurse wanting to become a medic. She had experience during the war which is what led to her and Nightshade leaving in the first place. While the war was going on Remedy got the privilege to help the wounded on the battlefield, however she had saved the life an injured decepticon by the name of Nightshade. Remedy was accused of betrayal by helping the enemy so she and Nightshade fled Cybertron together to avoid arrest or worse, death. To this day they wandered around here and there trying to avoid everything pretty much the entirety the war went on. But then they were welcomed aboard the Lost Light with open arms.
After settling in Ratchet had allowed Remedy to set up some of her stuff in the medbay. Remedy was like a daughter to Ratchet, he practically raised her since she was a sparkling so he was happy to see she was safe after all these years and he agreed to mentor Remedy so she can become a medic. Nightshade didn’t exactly adjust as quickly as Remedy did, she was very shy never really left the room she shared with Remedy. The only other Bot Nightshade had actually talked to was Rung and it was usually about her personal issues. She also became pretty good friends with Whirl of all bots which kinda worried a few of the others. Remedy was pretty much friends with just about everyone on the Lost Light she wasn’t particularly fond of Rodimus due to his constant flirting. She and Swerve were pretty much best friends, She talked to Rung on quite a few occasions, she was just a social butterfly.
Today was.. what would be considered normal on the large ship. Swerve was running his bar and chatting away as he does, Ratchet was busy working in the medbay and Rodimus was most likely spinning in his chair and annoying Ultra Magnus. Nightshade was talking with Rung and Remedy had been given some time off from her medical work for the day so she decided to go hang out at Swerve’s for a little bit. On the way there Remedy hadn’t been paying much attention and suddenly collided with a large chassis and falling to the metal floor in the process. She then heard the voice of the one she so stupidly walked right into. “I’m so sorry! Are you alright?” Remedy looked up making optic contact with who was in front of her, it was non other than the ex decepticon and now overly spiritual mech known as Drift. Remedy had only seen Drift one other time. She was helping Ratchet in the medbay when Drift walked in to talk to Ratchet, Remedy had looked up from her work simply giving him a small smile but then he suddenly left in a hurry. Remedy simply shrugged it off and hasn’t thought about it since.
She was snapped out of her thoughts when she heard Drift continuing to ask if she was ok, she then noticed he had offered to help her up so she put her small server in his larger one and he helped her to her pedes. The two just stared in silence for a few moments until Remedy suddenly spoke up. “I’m sorry for running into you like that, I should’ve been paying attention. I guess I been working myself too hard lately.” Drift gave her a weak smile, awkwardly rubbing the back of his neck. “It’s fine. By the way I’m Drift, I never got to actually meet you.” Remedy smiled back at the larger mech before her. “My name is Remedy.” It was that moment the two looked down and noticed their servos still intertwined together, a tint of blue spreading across their faces as they pulled their servos away from one another.
A few more weeks passed and Remedy and Drift had gotten pretty close, they weren’t a couple but they did spend a lot of time together. Meanwhile Nightshade was having one of her scheduled sessions with Rung. She felt safe enough to finally start opening up to the crew’s psychiatrist so he made sure to make time to see her at least once a week. “So yeah my own siblings basically bullied me my entire life. despite me being larger than all of them they always managed to abuse and manipulate me.” Rung sat in silence processing what all he had just heard, a look of sadness on his face. “So this is why you’ve kept to yourself this whole time?” Nightshade simply nodded her helm and stared at the floor.
“I’m just worried I’ll be treated that way again. All I ever wanted was to be with bots who actually care about me. Remedy was there when I was close to death but I worry that some of the other bots here might judge me.” Rung placed a servo on Nightshade’s shoulder plating and gave her a reassuring smile. “As your psychiatrist and your friend I can assure you that you are perfectly safe here and to be honest I’m pretty sure your crimes are nothing compared to some of the others here. Have you socialized with any of the other misunderstood bots on board?” Nightshade shifted her gaze back to Rung: “I have talked to Whirl quite a bit, he seemed like the only one I could relate to. Some of the stuff he says can be pretty violent but I guess that’s just his sense of humor and how he deals with everything.”
Rung gave a nervous chuckle. “Yes Whirl is rather.. unique in my perspective, very straightforward and sometimes terrifying.” Nightshade gave a weak smile thinking about the few occasions she had seen Whirl stalking through the hallways like a creeper, it was just something he did to get a reaction out of whoever would run into him in a dark corner. “He’s just weird like that I guess, I really find it unbelievable that he would truly hurt anyone. I think he just enjoys intimidating everyone.” Rung laughed at her comment but agreed nonetheless. “Well as much as I would love to continue chatting with you Nightshade, I’m afraid our time has come to an end. You are more than welcome any time but I still wish to continue with these weekly sessions if that’s alright.” Nightshade gave a warm smile and thanked Rung for listening to her problems and agreed to come back the following week. She then left Rung’s office and went about the rest of her day.
On the way to Swerve’s Nightshade could hear Remedy and Ratchet talking in the medbay, they were mostly talking about medical stuff but then Remedy asked the one question she and Nightshade were terrified of finding the answer to. “Have they forgotten? You know about the incident?” Ratchet gave a long sigh, not even looking up at the young femme. “I’m afraid they haven’t, Everyone on Cybertron, Autobot and Decepticon knows what happened that day. No one really talks about it these days but that doesn’t mean it’s been forgotten entirely.” Remedy felt her spark sink, she had hoped after all these years and especially with the war ending that everyone would’ve completely forgotten about her saving Nightshade’s life. “What will happen to us if we return?”
Ratchet suddenly stopped his work to look up at Remedy, his face showed signs of worry and uncertainty. “You were wanted for Betrayal, a search went on for a while. Everyone was demanding you be arrested and Nightshade be killed with other Decepticon prisoners, that being have them rounded up and strap bombs to them.” Remedy could feel her frame rattle in fear from the mere thought of her dear friend being blown up and the thought of being arrested and treated as a criminal made her wanna cry. “They wouldn’t still do that to us now right? I mean after all this time and the war being over surely they might could look past that and everyone can be happy.” Ratchet placed a servo on Remedy’s shoulder, looking straight into her orange optics. “I can’t guarantee you’ll be pardoned for your previous actions, what you did was a serious thing. Saving the life of the enemy? That’s not just something you can forgive so easily Remedy.”
Remedy sighed and made her way out of the medbay, her helm pounding with the information given and her anxiety building up at the thought of being arrested or killed. As she left the medbay she was stopped by Nightshade who looked as if she had been crying. “Say it isn’t true. Tell me they’re not gonna kill me and arrest you for the dumbest thing imaginable! That whole war was bullshit and you know it!” Remedy was shocked by Nightshade’s sudden outburst but tried to keep a calm demeanor. “Look, Ratchet said he doesn’t know if they would punish us or not, maybe now that the war is over we’ll be forgiven and we can live normal lives like we did before it even started.” Nightshade then pulled Remedy into a hug and began to cry. Remedy patted her on the back to reassure her that everything would be ok. “I promise things will get better.”
