Day One - 8 am - Oakland Cemetery (Oakland Ave gate)
In the United States an average of 3 women are killed every day by intimate partner violence. October is Domestic Violence Awareness month and I, along with many many others, will pay tribute to those women each day.

Trying to remain calm as I prepare for one of my more ambitious projects to date which wouldn’t be possible without an unimaginable amount of support.
October is #domesticviolence awareness month and I am getting ready for #3everyday. More info coming soon.

‘Disappeared (Part II, GA) Installation detail at @dtpcatl, 96 S. Broad.
Each line represents an incarcerated person in Georgia. Solid single lines represent people who are black, double solid lines represent people who are hispanic/latino, and dotted line represent people who are white.
Georgia is one of the United States with the highest overall rates of incarceration. But recent measures like HB 328, which works to undo some of Georgia’s harsh sentencing laws, are a step in the right direction.
See Hez Stalcup and I perform 'Chronostasis’ there tonight sometime around 10:30pmish at the tail end of @cl_atl’s #bestofatlanta block party on South Broad.

@cl_atl’s photo for their Best Of Issue by Joeff Davis.
http://clatl.com/atlanta/best-artist-asking-tough-questions/BestOf?oid=15354172
This photo makes me laugh, for so many reasons, but mostly the memoring of sitting in my backyard shooting it. Joeff was fun to talk to for an hour about gender and violence and language while we figured out how to shoot ‘Four Letter Word.’
Feeling pretty honored to be mentioned in Creative Loafing Atlanta’s Best of Issue as an artist “Asking Tough Questions.” I feel I am literally always learning and hope that I can always challenge myself constantly in my work.

Moving forward on my installation, “Disappeared” for #rw2015:
In the US 1 in 3 black men will spend some time in prison in their lifetime. Despite making up only 30% of the US population, african americans constitute 60% of US jail populations. North Carolina is particularly exemplary of this inequality, with a 22% black population, and yet and incarcerated black population at 55%.
throughout the week I’ll be drawing more than 2000 lines in chalk across the Alternate Roots conference grounds. Each line represents a man in jail in North Carolina (per 100,000 of the population), with the solid lines representing men of color and the dotted lines represent white males.
