These people are furious that someone who refused to draw a trans flag is online.
They bullied her off the internet once but this time she has friends.
takes a long drag from my invisible smokeless cigarette. apparently lupisvulpes is back with new social media accounts.

saw the guy who is repairing our apartment elevator cross himself while reading something on his ipad which we can only hope relates to his feelings about the pope's death and not his feelings about the state of our elevator

ranking the best things I have heard surgeons say mid-surgery:
1. "Five second rule!" while scrubbed, after dropping a sterile scalpel on the floor (no they did NOT pick it up again but I swear everyone's buttholes puckered)
2. (spoken during the closing of a particularly long and difficult case) "Nurse - my tunes." :heavy metal starts blasting:
3. Gently to a fretful patient, pre-anaesthesia: "It's going to be okay. I promise, I've dealt with worse." As soon as the patient is unconscious: "This is literally the worst thing I've ever seen."
4. [okay this one was a med student] "Wowwww, that's so gross!!" Reg: "Please remember that [patient] is awake for this procedure." Student to patient: "Oh my god. I am so sorry, that was really unprofessional - " Patient, cheerfully, also engrossed with what's happening inside them on the screen: "Nah - it's, like, super gross, right?"
5. [another procedure where the patient couldn't be put under GA] Patient: *starts singing country roads midway through the procedure* Surgeon: *shrugs and joins in with surprisingly good harmony*

I have been trying to read more widely of late.
"The problem is people don't read classics anymore"
No I think the problem is people don't read WIDELY. The ONLY ya and/or fantasy romance crowd is just as insufferable as the ONLY classics crowd or the ONLY litfic crowd or the ONLY nonfiction crowd and vice versa.
You gotta get some variety in there my guys

Still siblings, after everything.
This is the last page I had planned for this story! I might add some extra goofy bits to it later.

I FEEL this. Someone can be marriage material but not someone I would enjoy living with for 60 years.
The thing is "is this fella marriage material?" is just one question the dating phase shouod answer, and her beautiful sister, "do I want to marry THIS fella?" has done nothing to earn the Suspicious Glances thrown her way.

Some stories aren't about women. Some stories aren't about equality. Some stories aren't about politics. Some stories aren't about romance, and that's all FINE. I'm so tired of people hyper focusing on certain aspects of storytelling, insisting that a good story MUST have certain representation in order to be good. A good story is not simply a grocery list to check off. Just because the author didn't elaborate the details of the baker's wife doesn't mean they hate bakers or women, sometimes it just ain't about them and that's OK.

Every time I hear someone talk about "quarantine" and how "dangerous" it was to be out during the pandemic... In the year 2025, you have to be willfully ignorant considering the truth has been spoken, out loud, in the mainstream media. The people who are still getting their boosters and wearing masks in public (especially when their mask isn't even covering their nose, I really do not understand) must be wearing earplugs and blinders so they don't have to hear or see the truth that's all around them.
We didn't survive a pandemic. We survived an unprecedented attempt at mass control by our own government and the fact that there are still people who haven't been completely radicalized by this is honestly astonishing.

The audacity of a dramatically politically left post calling out greedy companies with "they'd butcher a baby if it'd save them a penny" when we all know that's exactly why so many companies will pay for abortions, so they don't lose their staff even temporarily to parenthood... Like, my guy, that's exactly what we're mad at them for too, across all kinds of political alignments, would love to see you join us in that fight, though I don't think that's precisely the message you were going for.
