The Murder of Elyse Pahler

The murder

15-year-old Elyse Pahler had been missing for eight months in March 1996, and it seemed like her disappearance would forever be a mystery. However, a remarkable and bizarre confession was made in March by the adolescent boy Royce Casey. Casey had become religious in the past few months and wanted to confess to a horrible crime he had committed with two accomplices eight months earlier. Casey and his two friends Joseph “Joe” Fiorella and Jacob Delashmutt called Elyse on July 22, 1995, and told her that they wanted to smoke marijuana with her. Elyse snuck out of the house to meet up with the boys in a eucalyptus grove, but they had lured her there to kill her. Delashmutt strangled Elyse with a belt and then they took turns stabbing her. Elyse screamed and begged to God during the ordeal and slowly bled to death. After Elyse had died, all three boys took turns raping her corpse. They then left the scene but often returned to rape the body. The corpse was not found until Casey confessed to the crime in 1995, and all three of the boys were arrested.

But why did they kill Elyse? Well, Casey told the investigators that they wanted to make a sacrifice to Satan and that they viewed themselves as Satan’s children. Elyse was the chosen victim since she had blond hair, blue eyes, and was a virgin, which was the perfect sacrifice according to the boys. Fiorella told investigators that they had been inspired by the band Slayer, who often sang about occults and sacrifices to the devil. Another important factor that may have played a big role regarding the murder is the fact that the three killers often did drugs such as acid and meth.

Trial and aftermath

All three boys pleaded no contest to the murder of Elyse Pahler and were sentenced to 25 years to life in prison.

Jacob Delashmutt was interviewed by The Washington Post years after the murder and said that even though the music they listened to was destructive, it could not be blamed for their actions. Instead, Delashmutt blamed Fiorello, who had an obsession with Elyse and with killing her.

Elyse Pahler’s parents filed a lawsuit against the band Slayer in 2001 and claimed that they were to blame for their daughter’s death. A judge concluded that even though the lyrics in Slayer’s songs were questionable, it was unreasonable to blame them for the murder.

Ronnika Richburg, died at age 32 on August 25,2020. Her ex boyfriend of many years stopped by to drop off their son at her parents home while she was doing a client’s hair and shot her to death. She put in a restraining order against him (Lloyd Jones)days prior to her death, but unfortunately it was just a piece of paper to him. He is currently still on the run since the incident and will either face life or the death penalty. RIP to Ronnika and I will keep y’all updated on when he is finally captured!

The Yorkshire Ripper dead aged 74.

Serial killer Peter Suttcliffe has died aged 74 days after he tested COVID positive. Instead of a post about him, I want to take this time to remember his victims.

Whilst the earth has been cleansed of another monster, he leaves behind a trail of destruction. Families are still left to mourn their loved ones and other families are left in the dark, never knowing if he was responsible for their murder.

Frank was a 23-year-old rookie New Orleans police officer when she and Rogers LaCaze terrorized the family-owned Kim Anh restaurant, shooting dead Officer Ronald Williams, and siblings Ha and Cuong Vu during a 1995 robbery. Frank's accomplice was Rogers LaCaze. He was also sentenced to death, but later got it turned to life without parole. Frank is currently one of two women on death row in Louisiana.

This is a solved case involving a beatiful single mother from Waren, Michigan. She was killed on January 13th 2017. Outside of her then boyfriend's parking lot heading to work. At first, her boyfriend was a suspect, but it was actually his baby mama!!! She convinced her boyfriend to get his friend to shoot her seven times. They recieved life in prison without parole. Rest in Peace Julii Johnson.

This is a recent case that I'm still following. The girl in the middle (Alexis Crawford) was found in a park in Atlanta, GA strangled to death, tied up and placed in a bin.
