Well, this is a funny thing, but I agree with Macron. He is right.
A lot of fury is directed in his direction, much of it justified, but we should not lose sight of the fact that France has its own serious problems with mass immigration. It isn’t just Britain….
On the one hand, since Rishi was PM we have given them a lot of money to police their beaches and stop the boats coming over. It appears that they have done next to nothing. I think we’d be justified in asking for most of that money back.
Where Macron is right is this: Britain really does roll out the red carpet for illegal immigrants. They are housed in hotels, clothed, given a monetary allowance, given free NHS healthcare, preferential treatment for housing, free iPhones, driving lessons, and a blind eye is turned when they get food delivery jobs earning £100s per week and no tax. Apparently they GET none of this in France or elsewhere. No-one wants to be cruel and inhumane, but neither should we be rolling out the red carpet to people who are breaking the law by arriving here illegally.
Therefore: you are right, Macron. Britain has been far too accommodating, from the days of Cameron onwards.

I have some reservations, but if the Tories wish to have more than four seats after the next election, they have to be saying things like this, and more. I think this is probably too little, too late.
In response to accusations of being heartless and cruel, I would respond by saying: “what would be my chances of upping sticks to Iraq or Afghanistan, just so that I could get disability benefits?” Likewise, I would imagine that they might be difficult to get even if I went to France or Germany.

Oh dear……
I really don’t take any pleasure in seeing people break down like this in public, even when it’s thoroughly despicable people like Rachel Thieves.
First of all - I offer her my condolences. Whether it is a personal matter or a work matter, I don’t wish this on her.
That’s where my sympathy ends. Where were her tears when she cancelled winter fuel allowances and condemned many pensioners to freeze last winter? Where were her tears when she destroyed the ambitions of people striving to do well for their children by working hard to send them to a private school? Where were her tears when she put a blight on the lives of farmers, now fearing the loss of generations of hard work due to her punitive Inheritance Tax changes. Where were her tears when her National Insurance rises made it prohibitively expensive to employ people, destroying the life chances of many young people?
I could go on and on. Yes, I have some sympathy, but politics is a dirty game and you really do reap what you sow.

ABSO - BLOODY - LUTELY!!!!
I don’t know anything about Bob Vylan and their music and I’ve no intention of ever finding out. Rap completely and utterly does not interest me. Other people are free to like what they want, but NO - it’s not for me.
I’m also uninterested in whether or not this person goes to prison for his vile hate speech. If Lucy Connolly is imprisoned for something she said, so should this piece of shit. However, Lucy shouldn’t be in prison, and much as I detest everything he stands for, neither should this c**t.
There is a bigger picture though. Bob Vylan can say what he wants. I don’t care - but just the same as Gary Lineker, he should NOT be allowed to spout such awful vile claptrap and be paid for through my licence fee.
The BBC are at fault for this vile racist crap going out. It is highly offensive to decent people. It makes Jewish people terrified of setting foot outside of their houses. The BBC knew exactly what sort of things he was going to say. They are VASTLY at fault for this debacle and really must suffer a major punishment.
My favoured solution is for the BBC to be closed down immediately, the licence fee cancelled and refunded to everyone who has paid it, and for its assets to be sold on the open market. It is a disgraceful organisation that shames this country.
In the real world, the least that should happen is that Tim Davie be sacked on the spot, lose his pension and be investigated for criminal negligence.

A simple question…..
I’m NOT in favour of prison sentences for things like this. NONE at all, whichever political direction they come from.
My question is: if Lucy Connolly is sentenced to 31 months in prison for a silly tweet that she wrote in a moment of blind rage, took down three hours later and clearly regretted: WHY then is this charming chap not arrested and put in prison for the same length of time. He was very clearly spouting out hatred and calling for people to be killed. Not on a tweet, but broadcast live to millions throughout the world on the much respected BBC.
Lucy Connolly should NOT be in prison.
This evil piece of sh*t should NOT be in prison.
However, if one IS in prison, the other MUST be. Two wrongs don’t make a right, but unless rules are applied fairly and consistently across the board we have TWO TIER JUSTICE and political prisoners. We become as bad, if not worse than the old East Germany.

Some of the people attending Glastonbury need to think a little more deeply before they mouth off.

Fabulous. I’m all for peaceful protest.
I just wish they’d go and do it in Iran, seeing that they love it so much.
They won’t though, will they? I wonder why?

St Barbara is known as the patron saint of armourers, artillerymen, military engineers, miners and others who work with explosives because of her legend's association with lightning.
Barbara’s association with lightning also marks her out as the patron saint of shouting and arguing.
Also the patron saint of architects, chess players, mathematicians, prisoners and sudden death.
Barbara is also known for teaching how the chess pieces move, but not necessarily in the right order.
St. Barbara is often depicted holding a goblet or chalice, especially in Eastern Orthodox traditions. This depiction is linked to her final wish that all who recall her martyrdom and seek her help be granted salvation from sudden death without confession and communion. It is also connected with her well known liking for having an occasional glass of wine.
She is also commonly shown with a tower, often with three windows, and a palm of martyrdom. Additionally, she is sometimes depicted with a sword (representing her death) or a cannon.
St Barbara was martyred for standing up to a gang of hostile pagans who objected to her organising chess matches in her house.
Thursday 4th December is officially St Barbara's Day so yeah lets have a party and play Chess. Venue yet to be decided.
