READING RECORD EAPP
OBRIAL, JHEAN SHIN LYN U., GRADE 11 - ABM 1
Unit 1: The Nature of Academic Text
This lecture taught me what academic text is and how vital it is in our everyday life. Academic literature is difficult to comprehend, yet it is highly useful to our individual life in terms of increasing our knowledge. Academic books helps us not just in our academic endeavors, but also in our daily lives.
Unit 2: Thesis Statement and Outlining
This lesson taught me what a thesis statement is and what it serves. The thesis statement tells the reader about what to expect from the essay and also outlines what you will investigate in your research. I’ve also noticed that a thesis statement may be quite helpful in establishing an outline for your piece. Outlining is a method that we use during the writing process to help organize our thoughts, visualize the possible structure of our work and flesh out and develop points.
Unit 3: What is summary and techniques in summarizing a text
Summarizing, often known as text summarization, is a technique for reducing a text without affecting it’s meaning. I would rather use or read a Summary text or take than the Original because I feel it will help ,e grasp what the text or story is about more quickly, and I may be too lazy to read the whole text or story.
Unit 4: What is paraph.rising and techniques in Paraphasing, Paraphrasing Vs Qouting
In my view and knowledge of paraphrase, it is changing the arrangement of words without changing their meaning in order for us to better grasp what the message is all about, and it also more specific and consice. Quoting works in the same way that a word or sentence does. Attracts or piques your curiosity, so you emphasize them.
Unit 5: Citing sources of Information
This lesson appeals to me since refencing sources is extremely beneficial to all students, including myself. It can help me with research if we have projects or activities that need us to conduct research, or if you want to learn more about anything connected to your specific topic. You may look for information on Google or in books. When performing research or citing sources, we must also remember to give credit to the author of the article or publication. This is a token of our admiration and gratitude for their efforts.
