I don't necessarily think that an average earth bender could make a nuclear explosion in a manner other than, you know, the usual one, since the actual method of splitting atoms to create an explosion is very difficult. Like you could use an earthbender to detonate a nuclear bomb but at that point you might as well just build a regular detonator. An earthbender could in theory cause radioactive material to eject even more radiation than it already is but that's not the same as a bomb. As for the minerals in bones it would depend on what form and concentration the minerals takes. Like, okay so we know that if someone is sufficiently mercury poisoned then you can bend that out of a human body, but in order to bend all of it you'd need to be particularly skilled, there's still plenty of mercury in Korra's system after Suyin and Lin bend it out of her that no one is able to even detect.
Like, as far as mercury exposure goes the amount of metal that Korra bends out of her at the very end is not small, I'm eyeballing it sure but that's easily a couple grams, I'd say in the 5-15g range based on the size of it compared to Toph's hands as well as how many small droplets we see coming out of Korra's arms in that scene. So we have a minimum range for what amount of earth (or metal) is detectable in the human body by the literal most powerful earthbender of all time and a fully realized avatar, and it's... way higher than the concentration of most minerals in our bodies, which is an amount measured in miligrams. Is it impossible? I won't say that, but it's something that would take an incredible amount of power and skill to achieve.
I wonder sometimes if earthbenders can bend radioactive ores like uranium and presumably the answer is yes but the more important question is whether or not a proficient enough earthbender would be able to detect the increase of radiation or if that would be a subbending ability for firebenders or even an avatar specific ability like energybending

Thinking about how Zelda helped the Chamberlain preserve her thoughts and opinions for historical record and how all records of Link's family are lost to time and how Zelda's celebration of common folk in the historical narrative can be read as a reflection of watching Link go through that

people tend to talk more about the doll iroh gives azula as a spoil of war that directly illustrates iroh’s attitude of colonial paternalism, but there’s something so fascinating to me about how iroh gives zuko a knife that says “made in earth kingdom” on one side and “never give up without a fight” on the other, reducing a call to action, direct resistance through any means necessary, into an abstract, inspirational quote. a weapon that symbolizes the strength of a nation of resist imperialist conquest/colonial occupation is put in the hands of a ten year old who has no way of truly understanding the implications of that slogan. of course, zuko eventually does come to understand, and he does refuse to give up without a fight, as does iroh, but at the time that iroh gives zuko the knife, he is perverting that symbol of revolutionary action & resistance into a colonial artifact, a mere child’s plaything, its blade dulled and its power denied through the act of gifting it to the sheltered prince of the nation against whom they are fighting. yes, zuko has his own fight, and must face his own struggles, and he is largely defined by his persistence, so it’s easy to forget what this knife means within its original cultural context: “made in earth kingdom” isn’t just a dismissive joke, it’s also a grave reminder of who iroh was, what his “gifts” represent, and where they came from.

Those who protest against Israel's genocide are punished for antisemitism.
But for some strange reason, authorities have never cracked down on antisemitism any other time. Any other time, antisemitism is considered free speech.
It's almost as if they know damn well that protesting against Israel is not antisemitism.

What gets me about atla is if you really wanted to write a fic where zuko speedruns his redemption arc, what you do is you have him successfully capture Aang at any point during season 1. Like. Imagine.
Zuko brings Aang to the Fire Nation and Ozai's all proud of him and shit and is like "Ah yes the Avatar. Good work, Zuko"
and Zuko rides that high for all of five seconds before Ozai continues with "Now we shall commence the canon state mandated torture of the Avatar so he doesn't reincarnate but simply withers away in our prison system"
and Zuko's like "wait what"
and Ozai is just "Zuko now that you're sixteen and you're becoming a man it's time I brought you in to the family business of torturing children. Your pansy uncle couldn't torture a child to save his life but your old man is the best in the business, as evidenced by your own face. Why don't you take this metal poker, heat it up with your firebending, and torture the avatar a little bit? Go on, Zuko! Torture the child!"
and Zuko just stares at Aang for a little bit before he's just "god damnit I can't do it" and busts Aang out

I never thought I'd say this but here it is!!
The long lost Gravity Falls "Next Time On," reel has FINALLY been found!
This right here is what made this show happen and the reason why every new Disney cartoon also has a next time on reel. GF's last big lost media hunt is over!
Alex Hirsch said that he was okay if this ever was to leak. So, if this goes down, blame Disney!!

U.S. conservatives always talk about creating jobs but get SO MAD whenever anyone mentions banning prison labor like imagine the insane ammout of jobs that would be created literally overnight if companies in your country had to actually employ people instead of using slave labor from people that got caught with weed 10 years ago.

Being transfem really exposes just how completely full of shit society is about breasts, huh? Like apparently there was some nebulous point sometime after I started E where it stopped being okay to have my tits out in public because....... reasons i guess? Just an arbitrary event horizon of indecency
you don’t think i’m a woman? that’s fine i guess that means i can go topless everywhere now

Well you see minors under 25 years old should not be allowed to get gender reassignment surgery because what if they go to the clinic but instead of giving them a normal penis the nurses mess up and give them the evil penis. That's irreversible
