so an old iddy headcanon is about the fact that (I'm told) JC's belt fastens in the back in Untamed.

Teen WWX should be a menace about it. Tugging on it. Opening it whenever, including during class. Maybe pinching JC's waist when he's done? Look. If not a game/a challenge/an invite, then why belt where WWX can play with it?

JC keeps having to pull himself back together, pulling on his robes, fastening himself up all over again. His ears all red with what WWX did to him. Sometimes he squirms. And WWX can play this game all over again, giggling at JC's furious, gleaming glares under his eyelashes. It's just so NICE and funny and WWX is absolutely 100% not thinking about why it's nice or why he's antsy afterward (why he's half-hard).

JC's mum keeps getting annoyed that he's so sloppy. It's unworthy of a young master. Of course JC doesn't say WWX is at fault; they both know WWX would get punished more severely than JC does. WWX doesn't stop unfastening JC's belt. JC doesn't start telling his mom it's WWX's fault.

Also WWX grabbing JC's clothes when they go bathe in the summer, and playing at swiping, whip-like, at JC's thighs with it. (It makes a very satisfying sound, and also JC squawks and falls back into the watet.) JC gets pissed, WWX cackles and cheers in victory, and doesn't think about it anymore, until a few days later he catches sight of the fading welts, biting into JC's soft-looking skin?

The image of it keeps returning to his mind even months later, when he draws dark strokes of ink over soft paper. Once the ink dries he runs his fingers over it, thinking of sun-warmed skin and feverish welts. Pretends he doesn't know why.

*joyfully* yeah oh god. I remember this. costuming department insane for "the belt buckles in the back" choice.

lol @ the costuming department. he could have a normal belt but he chooses the option that requires someone else to literally finish dressing him and present a public facade to the world? really. *through my gritted teeth* How Interesting, Which Could Mean Nothing, Etc. Etc.
