the multicolored glowing of tokyo drowning the pitch of the night to, unconsciously, create a spectacle of lights destined to turn into fluorescent strings that will dare you to surpass them in speed convinced jianyu that all of this was, surely, his best idea to date  ──  a real life mario kart race, that is. in all the glory of his power ranger couple custome with what he believed to be his broulmate, the hand that reached to pat the leader’s back quickly turned into an arm engulfing him in a tight embrace, palms proceeding to rest on his shoulders.  “ hajoon, “  air filled his lungs in a deep exhale as he cupped his face, frame relaxing just as he spoke.  “ i’m going to win this race. “  a quick kiss on his cheek, finger guns & jianyu was ready to claim victory.      /      @haujoon.

oh, the old, repetitive yet never the same routine his insides screaming for a new taste of something craved deeply, just another night of many for him  ──  the wet tint of onyx coating the heavens his dearest companion, holder of the secrets of his escapades & admirer of the sparkling in his eyes that dares to rival that of the astros perched high in its rich black until droplets of purple and orange drown the darkness out. it was almost romantic, akin to a story of forbidden lovers aching until the early hours of the morning to drink each other up in the silence of the night. the jealousy in romeo and juliet’s veins on the face of such amour would reduce them to ashes.

the ends of his fingertips were itching in anticipation, the heel of his foot tapping against the cold floor near desperately, uncertain of how much longer he would have to wait until he got to drown himself in the night. soft locks of hair bounced mildly when he picked up his head & looked to his side, the derisive smile plastered on his lips complimented by a scoff and a roll of eyes.  “ not even the end of the world could make me look terrible, babe. impossible. zero probabilities.“  with a last look, he briefly tilted his head, motioning for them to get going.  “ what’s the worse that could happen if we don’t wear a mask anyway, get an article saying we’re dating ? ─ “  a pout accompained his shrug as he finished his sentence,  “ ─ no biggie.“

♧      ╱       it was past the hour she was supposed to be asleep – past the hour any of them should be doing anything else other than resting their bodies and minds to another tiring day that was to come. japan was neon lights and a city that never sleeps – it was a promise of something fun at every single corner they could find, and even though yeeun tried to ignore the calling, trying to not listen to her eagerness of wanting to see all of that herself, it was stronger than her. 

her quiet footsteps outside the corridor was her declaring defeat – and, dangerously, claiming it as a quiet act of rebellion; and no one else could be by her side other than him. “ i really hope you’ve brought face masks, ” she didn’t need o state the obvious, that they were not to be recognized. but the comfort that came with jianyu let her free of insecurities for a few moments. “ because you look terrible. ”

a blink and raised rows of brows. thick steps slowed down with his tall frame turning around, pursuing the direction the voice seemed to come from. he let him carry on with his brief rambling in an attentive silence and with rich brown eyes locked on his shorter build, the words running fast in his ears with a lead of drops filled with glee trailing behind them. it was after a light push interlocked with an excited, playful cry & an arm drapping itself comfortably around the shoulders of the raven haired boy that he answered.  “ of course i saw it ! “  clenched fist punched his chest gently.  “ i was watching from backstage with the whole package  ──  lighstick, banners, fans... dare i say it was sexy ? “  the end of the sentence was shaped by a wink  ──  flirty, teasing, or both.

“DID YOU SEE SATURN when they performed yesterday, hyung ?” came the excited question from the maknae himself. “yeeun-noona and i looked really good when we performed give it to me together, right ? and whenever the crowd cheered i felt really alive, it was amazing !” yubin was aware that he was practically bouncing up and down where he stood, but since there weren’t that many people around he wasn’t that concerned with image right now.

tik, tok.  tik, tok.      every passing second was so scrutinizing they could be felt dragging their disembodied presence across inches of skin. with his tousled dark locks, a riddle resting on the corner of his lips and the intimidating yet confident air engulfing him tight, the often so easygoing jianyu always found himself getting throttled by the perverse hands of a discomfiture concocted by a shared memory  ──  and the metal walls around them only made it worse, more apparent, more mortifying. his frame left its resting position against the brassy surface at the keen staggering of the elevator & emergency lights replacing the previous bright lighting, digits running switfly through strands of hair and tugging at them as he mutters,  “ oh, fuck me. “      /      @sevendipities.

♕   𝙝 𝙚 𝙖 𝙙 𝙘 𝙖 𝙣 𝙤 𝙣 𝙨.

i.     ⌜ hi5′s seniority and importance for sonic sound may play a role, but jianyu is the spoiled brat of the company. for the most part, he’s prone to get away with all his antics, gets dotted on and coddled a lot by fellow idols & staff, and has inconditional support from his friend despite his, sometimes, questionable actions and personality.

ii.     ⌜ a more in depth  ( n hopefully, better )  explanation of how his idol persona plays, how he’s perceived and how it works  :  jianyu is, undoubtely, the fan attractor of hi5  ──  he has the looks & the personality  ( though fabricated )  needed for it. there’s this sugary, unsullied aura surrounding him, an innocence that enraptures you. a shy smile is always hanging off the corners of his lips, his eyes twinkle like the stars are placed in them, and the way he carries himself is gentle, tender. there’s something about him that tugs at your heart strings, telling you to protect him, he may be too good for this world. he’s perceived as rather shy and introvert for the most part, especially with the opposite gender, with the typical twist of a maknae. an idol loved by many, and one of the top favourite maknaes out there. nox is korea’s sweetheart, despite what jianyu may be like hidden behind closed doors.

iii.     ⌜ while that almost virginal image placed upon him got tarnished on 2017 after his scandal, it certainly didn’t slap him in the face that much  ──  a few variety shows, an official statement clearing the issue up with a few white lies  ( i.e.: the girl was a family member )  , and the rumours subsided rather easily. it’s something that ‘antis’ will bring up, a ghost in the closet that will always haunt him, but nothing that ruined his career or the facade he had worked so hard to build and maintain. call it the privilege of his gender or the magic behind his tricks. the ones more prone to know the puppeteer behind the mask are his members, the staff and managers he works with and close friends. other idols in the company would depend on different factors: how long since their debut, closeness to him  /  hi5, etc. the trainees may or may not know, there could be rumours running around them about their seniors.

iv.     ⌜ jianyu is a naturally flirty boy who has breaking hearts and having people pinning over him as a rather disgusting hobby. he has fun flirting with people, seeing their reactions, exchanging that feeling, teasing, and thrives off the knowledge he has the power to make them fall for him hard. but against popular belief, and while he does enjoy a hook up and getting laid, he doesn’t engage in them as often as people believe him to do, his limit may be two on a day  /  night out where he’s feeling Extra spicy. so in summary, he does flirt with everything and anything but doesn’t go the extra mile that often. it’s having people on their knees for him what really gets him off.

v.     ⌜ extremely hard-working, talented and ambitious. his god complex is perched high by rigorously labored strands of the most exquisite metal. whatever he puts his mind to, he will be good at it in no time flat  ──  the only blessing his lack of stability & need for new things has given him. he’s an impressive lead vocal, a dancer with the fluidity of water, a good producer and capable of writing beautiful lyrics. he’s currently practicing on the rap field and improving his producer skills. a golden maknae if you might.

vi.     ⌜ the more than cliché twist maknaes carry with them comes in action when he’s on variety shows, especially if his members are with him ! a variety show with more than one hi5 member is a variety show full of mischief, loud men cracking inside jokes regarding their group & fandom names and jianyu letting himself run wild. competitiveness is a yes on his side. he’s also known for being a gentleman when needed be despite the idea that he’s scared of women, blushing and getting flustered easily, and giving funny and adorable reactions  ──  the dumb card may get played here and there. this side can also be seen on vlives and live streams with the rest of the members or close company friends.

vii.     ⌜ it is a known fact that nox is extremely, cringe-worth cheesy with his fans, that flirty side of his peeking out. from his ments, to his answers on fancafé, post-its and fansigns, to his thank you letters there’s always beautifully crafted words sure to make you roll your eyes at his cheesiness yet pull at your heart. he has the boyfriend image and the nickname of fansign boyfriend given by fans. when he’s on vlive or doing an instagram live he tries to get through comments and flirt back at them and play along.

        ✱   BONUS  :  the discoveries made in the event.

─  with a bit of alcohol and some nudging, jianyu becomes a stripper. not the first time it has happened and not the last !

─  jianyu is drunk off his ass until a male gets smarty with yeeun and he’s not anymore.

─  if you want someone to enable your behavior at a party, he’s likely to be your man. he instigates AND encourages, legend.

─  perfect man was The spectacle of the day until jaebin and jianyu said it wasn’t.

─  he may archive whatever dagger you throw at him then play his cards right until he can clap back at you, the gemini = jumped out.

─  hangovers are a cranky, moody, deadly bitch in the ass !
