antifortune:
dammnn fandom at it again with giving me reasons to block half of you!! I don’t know how much I should’ve expected from a fandom that, on the whole, uses a video game series that takes many liberties with its story as a reliable source of historical information but I thought most of you would at least have the common sense to realize why using ethnically inaccurate faceclaims – especially for asian muses – is horrifically wrong. how many of you are actually of any asian ethnicity or have properly researched their histories? how many of you were raised with your classmates pulling on their eyes and saying “ling long ching chong” when you weren’t what they thought was chinese because they think all asians look alike? because that’s the same shitty mentality your behavior about “my ethnically inaccurate faceclaim LOOKS right” is rooted in.
IF YOU ARE DISMISSING AN ASIAN PERSON’S CONCERNS ABOUT ASIAN ISSUES AS “SJW BULLSHIT”, or have shown any indication of agreeing with people who do, I , also an asian person, am blocking you because I do not want to associate with you.
Let me put this in the context of video games since that’s how at least ¾ of you know anything about your own muses.
Do you know why Ko.ei will never portray The Korean Campaign of Hideyoshi in a Samurai.Warriors game? BECAUSE THAT WOULD BE BOMBING THEIR OWN GAME AND INTEGRITY. Korea and Japan have atrocious relations even to this day because japan has a track record of treating koreans like shit and trying to convey that in a video game is practically taboo. Japan was nearly successful in wiping out the culture and traditions of Korea, did horrible things to their people and r*ped their women and that still wedges them apart. You can’t even pull the “it was all in the past” card here because these issues are still persisting.
Can you really sit there now knowing the implications of using a korean idol as the face of a japanese muse when the latter colonized and nearly desolated the former and still do it in good conscience just “because they look right?” ( which by the way, they dont. one ethnicity will not look right as the face of another ever, sorry not sorry. ) Even if it is not your active intention, the implications remain the same and you can’t change that.
Some of you were horrifically rude in taking your stance on this issue too. Asian people ask to be afforded some respect and you dismiss it as “sjw drivel” because that’s how deep your egocentricity runs. I (don’t) hate to break it to you, but unless you yourself are asian your attempts to silence an asian person’s voice on asian issues don’t matter because you’re not part of the context.
This fandom is so devoid of basic empathy and understanding, it’s no fucking wonder no one outside of it wants to touch it.

“Ah, I’m sorry.” Perhaps he feels that sting. The sting of that minor pain, one that he was used to receiving when he was but a mere boy ferrying tea and various other goods to the folded laps of visiting daimyo, whom were never once careful with their words. As he grew in rank, wherein his heart and passion was set at the centre of the court, gilded with the loyalty he nurtured for his LORD, many became too frightened to speak their mind.
Funny how their own grasp with HONESTY changed with his status.
“I hope my comments help with improvement and do not deter you from trying again.” He asserts his truest intent, attempting to cover the sharper corners of his judgement with a softer tone, and lays a palm atop her head. “You too should not be afraid of speaking your mind.”

Tatsu let out a sigh. “Chichi-ue, it’s fine. I would prefer that you were honest with me. People tend to lighten their opinions with me. Having an honest opinion is refreshing.” She paused. “That wasn’t to say it didn’t hurt…just a little bit.”

“Mnh, you misunderstand. I’ve seen better, but it is certainly not bad.” Though perhaps a father should be more encouraging, but unfortunately he was born a rigid creature of honesty. “Uh, deriving more inspiration from your surroundings might help a bit.”

She gave her miniature temple a small poke. Well, it was a little pitiful, wasn’t it? “…O-Oh. Y-You’re right. It’s not that good.”

ooc: So lately I’ve been dragged away by video games & more video games so big apologies for those waiting on replies >< I’m not so great at juggling blogs. If you guys would like to chat, I do have skype, so feel free to ask for it if you want. In the meantime, I’ll be dragged again by video games but, I’m thinking about throwing out some starters for folk who want. My inbox is also always open, of course o/
