Design Book part1

Narrative of my outcome:

My project is a trail of a hypothetical movie called the Silver Heart. the sequences are indicated to show a basic structure of the storyline and the concept of the world. The transition between different themes will follow the music tune and the color flew.

Images are mostly drawn in photoshop and SAI by myself and the motion graphics are done by my with After effects.

For the opening theme, I use some paper texture to make a storybook feeling sky and make the dragon flying over with the song. The title would be fade like water wash.

The second frame is the back shadow of the leading character, the LORD SAGITTARIUS. He is a dragon and was a king, but he has lost for a long time until the boy from another world(our world) found him.

Following one is the same person, he took off his weapon and star his advantages. I want to create a dreamy effect like in an ocean beyond the sky.

The fourth one is back to the basic topic dragon story, I draw the big head shadow and the background and the stars. When people thinking about the time and space traveling, they use these spinning effect. I used it here too, to imply the boy was from another world.

Last few frames are texts and video footages are edited to making it more like a trail. Footages are from Lindsey’s MV, which is also for a new movie Pete's dragon.

The music I used is played by Lindsey Stirling with violin, called Ascendance. Thank you.

Some More Adjustments I Did for My Final Project.

Make a fake title frame:

Pay tribute to Metro Goldwyn Mayer. use after effects to make a dragon mask. add sound effects to make it hiccup

First frame:

Adjust the cloud, shape, direction, and speed, so it flows more naturally. make the transformation more fit the music.

change the front of the letter”silver heart“, I use my handwriting instead.

Second frame: 

Change the resolution and some light, make it fitted the music.

Third frame:

Adjust the resolution, to avoid the black gaps, I use double layers trying to create a dreamy effect.

Fourth frame:

As you can see from the picture I posted. To keep a warm tone of my project, I draw another image myself to instead the stars photo. I think it looks much better with it, less science fiction more magical.

Last frames:

Use some footage to make a fake trail massage.

This is a simple demonstration of my concept and project consideration. I try to organize the work I did so far and it will be used in my week 10 tutorial presentation.

There will be 1-2 more motions I haven’t done. And I will do more work with the transaction from one to another, and fit the song.

Draw a Moon by myself ：D

Do the effects named CC Sphere in the After effects, in order to make it more 3D.  I add this to the frame because firstly I want to make it’s more magical haha, secondly I will use the moon as a object in the next theme.

This is I did yesterday.

I drew the boat and the man first in different layers, then everything is done in the After effects.

There will be another camera movement in the first 2 seconds, however, I haven’t figure out how to do that. I may ask for help in the week 10 I guess.

I try to use the 3D effect at first, that includes the camera movement and make the objects in between the waves. and I change the angle so it looks driving away.

The star and cloud effects I did in the background by using the particles and glow, and I also use liquify effect in the cloud. I paint a blue background too, however it become hard to see.

The best part I think is the wave. Thanks for our tutor Paul, I made multiple masks and made waves by changing the shape of the mask. Well, it looks ok, but not fits the tone of my project. I try to use the different effect to fix it. Using 3D layers and pro-composer,  and finally, I found the right one!! Blur. the Blur effect make it just like the ocean waving above the cloud.

This is the third part of my project, I’m still thinking about the transition of different frames. The length so far should be about 27 seconds. I will try to do another one in this week.

The second piece of this project is the history of the hero, or say the dragon,  The lord Sagittarius. He’s standing in the flames of war, holding his powerful  lancer .

He was a king once, but not anymore. Been alone for hundreds of years, he never speak to anyone, until he met our leading man.

I draw the body and the shadows and other things in sai in different layers. Then I use the techniques we studied in week 3 in After effects to make the masks and the layers like it has been painted.

Initially, I want to add a ink spot as a transform theme in the last few seconds. however, so far I haven’t figured out a good way to do it. I should do more later this week.

So far I got the project and the story inside my head, so before I actually do something, I decided to try a start theme first. I use the first image as the background, adjust the contrast and color. the second and third one is drawn by myself. I also do draw some swallows.

I use After Effect to do the rest of the job. After all, I think it’s not bad. The last picture is my style frame for this week. It might be changed during the progress for sure.

Well, This is a video recently I did for KNB122 Drawing for Animation 2.

I’d like to post here because I also used the After effect to add the start flame and the end flame, as well as all the texts.

It's a flour sack I drew , dancing with the music, so make sure open the volume when you watch it.

This is my Week 6 video of Theme"Coffee & Hexagons".

I watched the tutorial video first just in case I forget something important. It’s kind of bad luck that I don’t have the same effet, so I just the effect in keyframe, versitile the audio and use the waves as the reference of the changes and movements of the objects.

This time I really use a lot of programe and writing code. It kind of fun when you get used to it.：-）

I add the rotation and the change to shape follow the sound, as well as the Hue effect so the color is flashing too. To fill the image a little, I use the type layer as some additional attention for the viewer. Hexagons appears at the middle and the music is from vimeo audio library “Strong Black Coffee” by jared Mees and The Grown Chindren.

And at last, sorry for the length but I think a little bit longer is really helpful with the sound.

Theme: Circle Vs Square ! This is a 5sec video I did for my week 5 Animation and Motion Graphics class. I tried to use the alt+clock and program some of the movement like the similar one in the cLass.I make the background by using the rain effects and use the technics we learned this week. I also use glow effect to make the star softer. For the letters I change the value in timeline and add an effect too.
