“It’s been years since I’ve last seen you, and I waited for the day I did to tell you how much you hurt me. I wanted to tell you how much time it took me to fix myself back up again. I wanted to break you the way you broke me. This is my chance, right here. Right now. But…I see you, and you’re not the you I knew. You’ve changed. And so did I.”

Writing Prompt #210
“You what?” My heart dropped to my toes as I saw the betrayal and disgust on their faces. He was right. He told me that they wouldn’t look at me the same way and that they’d want nothing to do with me after I told them. He really was the only one who would take me.

Writing Prompt #1130
“I’m going to let you in on a secret,” the villain whispered, leaning in, lips hovering just above the beaten hero’s ear. “It was never about you. I’m not going to miss you for a moment when this is all over.”

This blog just....wow.
Do you think Patrick and pete's relationship has improved since coming off hiatus? It honestly worries me to think about how much they were supposedly foghorn while recording folie a deux and they are a lot of people that say they aren't even really best friends anymore
ugh see as a peterick shipper i’ve spent a lot of time thinking about that, but when it all comes down to it, from an unbiased perspective, here’s what i have to say: creatively, the two of them have always fought a ton. pete and patrick are the driving forces of fall out boy; they’re the words and the melodies, respectively, and andy and joe have been blown off and that’s unfair, but i understand the reasoning because i love them and we all love them and they’d be no fall out boy without them, but before the hiatus, they really just came in the studio, played what patrick told them to, and that was that. joe once compared patrick and pete to john lennon and paul mccartney and himself to george harrison - one in five people probably wouldn’t know the other two members of the beatles, and fall out boy is kind of the same, unfortunately. in recent years, because joe specifically asked patrick to ease up in the studio this time around, he’s managed to help with the music a ton more, and andy has, too, so there’s that. but anyway, back to pete and patrick; for the first six years, it was pete&patrick. in the studio, they fought constantly. it happened during tttyg - the band almost broke up like nine times because nobody could compromise on the music. it happened during futct - patrick famously punched pete in the face while recording sugar. it happened during ioh - patrick apparently threw a fucking fit about thnks fr th mmrs or something, i don’t remember the exact details and i’m not gonna bullshit, but i know he was a little bitch during that record too. and folie was absolute hell, patrick didn’t let anyone do anything, he literally was like “pete, give me your lyrics and get out, joe, record these guitars and leave, andy, play your parts, thanks bye.” that was pretty much the making of folie, to my understanding. save rock and roll was another story. they’d matured, patrick learned to bite his tongue and let joe have some creative control because joe’s a good musician but patrick never used to acknowledge him as one, he learned to trust that pete was usually right when it came to the singles and stuff. so, i’d say in the studio they’re doing better than ever, pete and patrick have learned to stop being immature and stubborn and they’re trusting each other more, joe and andy are getting the control in the studio they should’ve had all along. meanwhile, i think they’re not nearly as close as friends as they once were. pete was fucking ridiculously fond of patrick from around 2003-2006, if all his old blog posts and the old q&as are anything to go by. he looked at that kid like he was the best thing on earth, even if not in a romantic way. he fucking adored him, but i think around folie time their friendship just started going down the drain. there’s an interview from 2009, and it literally breaks my heart. i think patrick’s drunk or hungover or feeling ill or i don’t know but he just looks really distant and pete just looks at him with this fucking look, like it just breaks my heart. i think they were both not okay in 2009. i think the failure of folie really fucked patrick up mentally, like he suffered from depression and he gained a lot of weight and was unhealthy and he probably really didn’t like himself during that time because he blamed himself for fob going sour, like, you know? meanwhile pete’s marriage was already starting to go bad. it was just a bad time. they fought a lot. you know, when fall out boy was in japan for the believers never die tour, pete apparently did some promotional thing without consulting anyone else, and that was the last straw and patrick snapped and pretty much said “i can’t do this anymore.” he literally said he quit the band for a minute, he was so done with pete’s bullshit. i think there were a lot of hard feelings and the result just distanced them as individuals, you know? and i don’t think they’ve been able to get the closeness they had in 2005 back. so, creatively, as musicians they’re closer than ever. as friends, not so much. which makes me really fucking sad. sorry for writing an essay, m8.
