no, actually, its not marxist principle to defend the petit-bourgeoisie and artisan classes from competition and development in the means of production

hey by the way if you want to help trans people consider getting shinigami eyes and go mark as many terfs and transphobes red as you can. Follow the guidelines of the extension of course but you can legitimately just go into a tag like #terf safe and pretty easily just mark a handful of self identified terfs red without any trouble to you, while saving us the trouble of scrolling through mountains of people who want us dead
Its genuinely so helpful to immediately spot who in my notes is a terf so i can cut them off. when people aren't red and I get some unhinged comment on my post (or worse, someone elses post which i shared) I have to look through all my followers and reblogs and figure out where on earth this person got to the post from. When I can just go to desktop and see easily its so much easier to keep hate away from the people I care about and it should be something even cis people can do without much difficulty. the only caveat I would say is if you're cis do not mark trans people especially not trans women, we will judge our own.

I have had many people ask me “how do I be a better ally to trans women in my life?” and honestly I don’t have a good answer because I just buy my transfem friends food everytime we hang out and I’m just nice to them and treat them like people and that seems to work out.

i forget who made a the post but there was smth going around talking about how a lot of the maid/princess/doll/etc type posts are very style over substance and work in a fetish adjacent way rather than actually working for interesting substance (and how that makes them worthless) and like. it is interesting to look at how things lack substance or whatnot sometimes but also. all those things are very much fetishes. like its not fetish adjacent because people dont care about substance, these are literal fetishes people have. thats why they feel fetishistic. some people just really love maids regardless of context

each side is only a half truth and maybe I'm being pedantic but I really think we should be saying the whole thing
the tension between "there are a million ways to be trans stop stereotyping" and "pressures and bigotries in society will push trans girls into certain expressions and reactions to trauma"

I only ever really see posts from one 'side' or another. like no not every trans girl will be one of three traumatized messes but neither do we have free reign to present ourselves however we want.
at the same time yeah transmisogyny does push women into particular expressions and experience but also every trans woman is unique and will respond to that society in distinct ways that are their own.

the semantic drift of the term "liminal" genuinely pisses me off and i know its petty. LIMINAL IS A TRANSITIONAL STAGE BETWEEN TWO STATES- OR. IF WE WANT TO WIDEN THE BOUNDARY HERE. IT COULD BE ON THE VERY EDGE OF BECOMING SOMETHING ELSE. just because something is abandoned doesn't mean its liminal. in fact, that shopping mall was MORE liminal when it was dying off and shutting down outlets every month than it is 5 years later when the space is fully abandoned.

"In recent years, there has been a rush on the internet to supply image descriptions and to call out those who don’t. This may be an example of community accountability at work, but it’s striking to observe that those doing the most fierce calling out or correcting are sighted people. Such efforts are largely self-defeating. I cannot count the times I’ve stopped reading a video transcript because it started with a dense word picture. Even if a description is short and well done, I often wish there were no description at all. Get to the point, already! How ironic that striving after access can actually create a barrier. When I pointed this out during one of my seminars, a participant made us all laugh by doing a parody: “Mary is wearing a green, blue, and red striped shirt; every fourth stripe also has a purple dot the size of a pea in it, and there are forty-seven stripes—”
“You’re killing me,” I said. “I can’t take any more of that!”
Now serious, she said it was clear to her that none of that stuff about Mary’s clothes mattered, at least if her clothes weren’t the point. What mattered most about the image was that Mary was holding her diploma and smiling. “But,” she wondered, “do I say, Mary has a huge smile on her face as she shows her diploma or Mary has an exuberant smile or showing her teeth in a smile and her eyes are crinkled at the edges?”
It’s simple. Mary has a huge smile on her face is the best one. It’s the don’t-second-guess-yourself option."

being nonbinary in and of itself does not imply any proximity to manhood relative to women.
nonbinary people, whether TMA or TME, are not “closer to” being men than women are by virtue of being nonbinary.
some might be, but the default is not some combination/hybrid/in-between of man and woman. many are pretty much classed alongside women, and many are classed (with all other marginalizations, including being affected by transmisogyny without the ability to exempt oneself from its structural forms, being equal) below women. nonbinary encompasses infinite relationships to sexgender systems.
being nonbinary is not “trans men who won’t fully let go of womanhood” or “trans women who won’t fully let go of manhood.”
there’s a vibe a lot of people bring to discourses on nonbinary subjectivity that implies we are duplicitous and attempting to game the system by playing both sides or something. There is a cynical assumption that nonbinary people are not accurately describing our lives and social realities, and are instead trying to manipulate others with our (claimed, implicitly false) identities.
would be cool if we stop doing this

I still can't believe we let the broader LGBT sphere get away with "hating men means hating trans women" for so long
