अत्र शूरा महेष्वासा भीमार्जुनसमा युधि। युयुधानो विराटश्च द्रपदश्च महारथः।। 4 ।। धृष्टकेतुश्चेकितानः काशिराजश्च वीर्यवान्। पुरुजित्कुन्तिभोजश्च शैब्यश्च नर पुङ्गवः ॥ 5 ॥ युधामन्युश्च विक्रान्त उत्तमोजाश्च वीर्यवान्। सौभद्रो द्रौपदेयाश्च सर्व एव महारथाः।॥ 6 ॥ अर्थ- यहां इस सेना में प्रचण्ड शूरवीर, विख्यात धनुर्धर अर्जुन , भीम आदि के समान अति प्रसिद्ध योद्धा हैं। उनके नाम वर्णन करता हूँ। युयुधन, विराट, महारथि द्रुपद, धृष्टकेतु, चेकितान वीर्यवान, पराक्रमी काशीराज, पुरूजित, कुन्तिभोज, नरश्रेष्ठ शैब्य, विक्रान्त युधामन्यु, पराक्रमी उत्तमौजा सुभद्रा पुत्र (अभिमन्यु) द्रौपदी के पुत्र (पांचों भाई पाण्डवों से पांच पुत्र) प्रचण्ड महारथी है।। 4-6 ॥ व्याख्या- दुर्योधन जिनके नाम चार से छः श्लोकों के मध्य दुर्योधन ने द्रोणाचार्य को सम्बोधित का भयजनित व्यंग्य आधार हीन नहीं हैं। ये बीस योद्धा कर एक-एक करके गिने हैं महान् योद्धा है। अतः दुयेधन अपने समय के इन महान् योद्धाओं से आतंकित से लगे। इन योद्धाओं का बल, वीरता, पराक्रम युद्ध कौशल तथा शूरवीरता सर्व जगत् विख्यात हैं अगर नकुल और सहदेव के नाम पंक्ति में नहीं गिने तो यह भूल के कारण नहीं अपितु दुर्योधन को इन बीस गिने गये योधाओं के शौर्य और वीरता के भय के कारण है। स्वभाविक ही है कि दुर्योधन इसलिये भी सटपटा रहे हैं कि जिनको वनवास और अज्ञात वास भिखारी बनने के लिये भेजा था आज उन्होंने ऐसी विशाल सेना संगठित कर ली और ऐसे वीर योद्धा उनके संचालन में दत्तचित् है जो किसी के लिये भी नाश और भय का कारण हो सकते हैं। मन से भय दुर्योधन ने युधिष्ठर, को भगाने के लिये दुर्योधन 10 तक) में अपने दल के महारथी और सुप्रसिद्ध योधाओं का और अपनी विशाल सेना का वर्णन करते हैं । पहले अध्याय के 10 श्लोकों में आध्यात्मिक पहलू की झलक भी स्पष्ट है। हमारे शरीर रूपी धर्म क्षेत्र तथा युद्ध क्षेत्र में जो प्रवृत्ति -निवृत्ति (कौरव- अब गुरु द्रोणाचार्य को अगले चार श्लोकों (7 से पाण्डव) दल लड़ रहे हैं उनका भावार्थ इस प्रकार हैं, पांच पाण्डव पांच तत्त्वों या पञ्च देवों के प्रतीक हैं क्योंकि ये तप और शान्तिमय व्यवहारिक पुरुषार्थ के अनुयायी हैं। इस शरीर में दस इन्द्रियां है जो मन पर आधारित होने के कारण निरंतर चंचल मन की तरह चंचल हैं कभी स्थिर नहीं जो कुछ भी दिखाई दे, सुनाई दे, सूंघने को मिले, छूने, चखने को मिले उधर ही आकृष्ट होती हैं। अनेक विषयों के इधर-उधर होने से इन्द्रियां भी उनका अनुसरण करती हैं। ये ही पांच ज्ञानेन्द्रिय (चक्षु, जिह्वा, नासिका, त्वचा, स्रोत्र) पांच कमेन्द्रिय (हाथ, पांव, जिह्वा, मल-मूत्र द्वार) ये दस इन्द्रियां दसों दिशाओं (पूर्व, उत्तर, दक्षिण, आग्नेय, नैऋत्य, वायव्य, ईशान, अन्तरिक्ष तथा धरती) में परिभ्रमण करती है। अतः 100 अर्थात्, दस गुणा दस सौ होता है। अतः कौरवों की 10 x 10 लोभ, लालच, वासनात्मक प्रवृतियों के कारण इनकी संख्या की तुलना उक्त, दिशाओं एवं इन्द्रियो के गुणन खण्ड के समान की गई हैं जब तक श्रीकृष्ण रूपी आत्मा की आवाज हम नहीं सुनेंगे और उसपर अमल नहीं करेंगें तो सौ कौरवों रूपी चंचल मन पर आधारित इन्द्रियों के चंगु�� से मोक्ष न पा सकंगे।

दृष्ट्वा तु पाण्डवानीकं व्यूढहं दुर्योधनस्तदा।।आचार्यमुपसङ्गम्य राजा वचनमब्रव्रीत् ।। 2 ।। अर्थ- सञ्जय बोले व्यूहरचना रूप में (दृढ़ संकल्पित) पाण्डवों की सेना को देखकर राजा दुर्योधन (अपने) आचार्य ट्रोण के समीप जाकर ऐसे वचन बोले।। 2 ॥ व्याख्या- युद्ध के लिये दोनों सेंनाएं दृढ़ संकल्प, व्यूह रचनाओं में खड़ी हैं। दुर्योधन ही पहले पुरुष है जो तुरन्त हरकत में आते हैं। मोह ग्रस्त व्यक्ति जब अनहोनी को घटित हुए देखता है तो भय जनित कोतूहल उसको डंस देता है। ठीक यही स्थिति राजा दुर्योधन की इस युद्ध क्षेत्र में है।13 वर्षो के वनवास और अज्ञात वास के पश्चात दुर्योधन को यह आशा नहीं थी कि केवल मात्र पाण्डव ऐसी विशाल दक्ष योधाओं की सेना भयानक वीरों के संचालन में जोड लेंगे। यह विकृत दोनों (कौरव और पाण्डवों) के गुरु हैं। अत: उचित होता कि वह (दोनों दलों के सम्बन्धी होने कारण) बलराम के समान तटस्थ रहते परन्तु उन्होंने कीरवों का भय ही उनको द्रोणाचार्य की ओर अग्रसर करता है। ट्रोणाचार्य पक्ष चुना, जाहिर है कि राज दरबारी दबाव और परम्पराओं के कारण उन्होंने ऐसा कर दिया। यह भी अस्वीकारा नहीं जा सकता कि युद्ध क्षत्रिय के लिये स्वर्ग द्वारा होने के कारण उन्होंने इस अवसर को न खोने का निर्णय लिया और राज्य सेवा में होने के कारण कौरव सेना का संचालन स्वीकारा। दूसरी और यदि हम ध्यान से देखें तो यह स्पष्ट होगा कि इस शारीरिक कुरुक्षेत्र के जीवन रूपी संग्राम में हर व्यक्ति लगभग दुर्योधन की भान्ति ही व्यवहार करता है। घबराहट में अपनंी बुद्धि (गुरु) को टटोलता है, मोह-लाभ का फल खोजता और पूछता रहता है।। 2 ।॥ पश्यैतां पाण्डुपुत्राणामाचार्य महतीं चमूम। व्यूढा द्रुपदपुत्रेण तव शिष्येण धीमता।॥ 3 ॥ अर्थ- हे आचार्य! पाण्डवों की विशाल सेना को देखिए जिसकी संरचना आपके बुद्धिमान शिष्य द्रुपदपुत्र धृष्टद्युम्न ने की है।। 3 ।॥। व्याख्या- यह एक व्यंग्य ही नहीं अपितु आक्षेप का तीर है जो दुर्योधन ट्रोणाचार्य पर द्रोपदी के जन्म का विषय भी अपने आप में एक दैवी घटना है। राजा द्वपद और द्रोण बचपन के मित्र थे। बाद में द्रपद जब पांचाल नरेश बने और ट्राण छोड़ रहे हैं। महाराज द्वुपद का पुत्र धृष्टद्युमन और उसकी बहन ने उनसे बड़ी आशा से एक कार्य सिद्धि के लिये सम्पर्क साधा तो द्वुपद ने आचार्य द्रोण की मांग को ठुकरा दिया, परिणाम स्वरूप रुष्ट और क्रेधित द्रोणाचार्य ने इसको अपमान के रूप में लिया और पाण्डवें की सहायता लेकर बुरी (मोह) नहीं था, अत: द्वपद से जीता हुआ राज्य उन्हें लौटा दिया। द्रुपद पर आक्रमण कर तरह हराया। क्योंकि द्रोणाचार्य को राज्य से लगाव इस घटना से द्वु��द अति अपमानित हुए तथा तत्पश्चात घोर तप में लीन हो गये। इस तप पूजा-अर्चना के उपरान्त यज्ञ किया गया, यज्ञ के हवन कुण्ड से द्रोपदी और धृष्टद्युमन का उदय (जन्म) हुआ। धृष्टद्युमन को आचार्य द्वाण की मृत्यु के कारण का ज्ञान था ।यहा द्रुपद पुत्र धृष्टद्युमन विशाल पाण्डव सेना के सेनापति हैं इन द्रुपद पुत्र ��ो भी आचार्य केण ने ही युद्ध विद्या सिखाई हैं। इसी सन्दर्भ की पृष्ठ भूमि में ही तो गाजा दर्योधन गुरु द्वाणाचार्य को सम्बोधित करके व्यंग्य कस रहे हैं मानो कह रहे हैं। ১৪ कि अपने किये का फल देख लो।

अथ प्रथमाऽध्याय विषादयोगः धृतराष्ट्र उवाच अर्मक्षेत्रे कुरुक्षेत्रे समेवेता युयुत्सवः। मामका: पाण्डवाश्चैव किमकुर्वत सञ्जय! ॥ 1 ।। अर्थ - धृतराष्ट्र बोले हे सज्जय! धर्मछेत्र कुरुक्षेत्र में युद्ध करने के लिये एकत्रित मेरे और पाण्ड पुत्रों ने क्या किया? ।॥ 1 ॥ व्याख्या- जन्मान्ध महाराज धृतराष्ट्र दिव्य चक्षुधारी सञ्जय से यह प्रश्न युद्ध के आरम्भ होने से पहले पूछ रहे हैं कि घर्मक्षेत्र कुरुकषेत्र में क्या हुआ? कुर्क्षेत्र तो धर्म्षेत्न नहीं वह तो युद्धक्षेत्र था, तो प्रश्न यह उठता है कि धृतराष्ट्र ने कुरुक्षेत्र (जो युद्ध क्षेत्र है) के साथ "धर्म'" शब्द क्यों जोड़ दिया? अतः इसमें राजा धृतराष्ट्र के संशय तथा भयग्रस्त मन का संकेत हैं। क्योंकि वह शास्त्र के इस उल्लेख को जानते थे कि सत्य की ही विजय होती है।परन्तु वह निःसंदेह यह भी जानते थे कि इस युद्ध का कारण सत्य तथा धर्म नहीं परन्तु कीरवों (जिशेष कर दुर्योधन) के पाण्डवों के प्रति धर्म विरोधी धारणा थी जिसकी एक लम्बी शृंखला थो और जिनका कारण दुर्योधन तथा कौरवों दल महारथियों का लोभ स्वार्थ, अन्याय अहंकार तथा निराधार प्रतिशोध भाव थे जिनको दुयोधन को स्वपं को इस बोषणा ने सिद्ध कर दिया था कि वह विना युद्ध किये पागडवो को सई की नोक के बराबर भूमि भौ नहीं देंगे टुर्योधन ने सन्धि के सारे प्रस्ताव और प्रयास भी ठुकरा दिये थे,स्वयं श्रीकृष्ण द्वारा सन्धि के अनेक प्रयत्न तथा प्रयास भी दुर्योधन की युद्ध हठ के सामने पूरी तरह असफल रहे थे, वास्तव में दु्योधन ही नहीं बल्कि मारना था। महाराजा युधिष्टर इस पृष्ठभूमि के समक्ष अपने दल को धर्म के तराजू में हल्का पड़ने के कारण अपनी अन्तर आत्मा में व्यकित थे। का युद्ध षड्यन्त्र का मन्तव्य पाण्डवो को युद्ध में हराना वैसे भी युद्ध तो होता ही भयावह है। अब मानो अपने आपको सांत्वना देने के लिये तथा इतिहास और भविष्य के सन्मुख तथ्यों पर पर्दा डालने के लिये युद्ध क्षेत्र कुरुक्षेत्र को धर्म क्षेत्र की पावन संज्ञा से अलंकृत प्रजा और इतिहास महाभारत युद्ध का कारण कौरवों के दुष्ट भावों में न देख पाये अपितु महाराज धृतराष्ट्र द्वारा इस को धर्मरक्षा का उत्तम प्रयास माने। परन्तु यह एक पंगु प्रयास ही नहीं अपितु धर्म का कर रहे हैं ताकि मुखीटा ही सिद्ध हुआ। का इतिहास ऐसा ही वास्तव में महाभारत युद्ध ही क्या बहुत सारे युद्धां होता है।अधिकांश युद्ध का कारण मोह, अज्ञान और प्ाप ही होते हैं। युद्ध आज का हो अववा पूराना इसका कारण मानव अहंकार, लालच, मोह तथा प्रतिशोध ही होता है। सताधारी, भय, संशय तथा मोह के कारण अपने विरोधियों को नष्ट करने पर तुल जाते हैं। लोगों को गुमराह करने के लिये आडंबर खड़े किये जाते हैं और तथ्य बदले जाते हैं। अपनी सफाई में नैतिकता और बलिदान का पाखण्ड खड़ा किया जाता है। सत्ता के मोह को मजबूरी, लालच को देश सेवा, द्वेष व प्रतिशोध को घर्म पालन और अन्याय को कुर्बानी दिखाते हैं। यह युद्धों के सरदार दुर्योधन हो, सिकन्दर अथवा हिटलर सब असुर तथा नाशक प्रवृत्ति के ही धुरन्धर होते हैं। आज इराक का युद्ध तो हमारे सामने का प्रमाण है सशक्त अमेरिका ने बेंकसूर इराक को मात्र स्वार्थ और लालच के कारण झूठ के सहारे तथ्या को मराड़ कर उस पर आक्रमण कर डाला- यही अक्सर युद्धों का इतिहास है। वास्तव में महाभारत युद्ध को धर्मयुद्ध का स्वरूप देने का औवित्य तथा श्रेय तो पाण्डवों तथा श्रीकृष्ण भगवान् को जाता है। पाण्डवों के वस्टिदान और श्रीकृ्ण भगवान् के निष्काम कर्म की शक्ति नें यह युद्ध लाचारी में धर्म की रक्षा के लिये सत्य के आधार पर लड़ा तथा वर्म को जीवित रखने के लिये जीता धर्म की रक्षा इसलिये जरूरी है क्योंकि धर्म ही संसार का आधार है। धर्म की हानि होने पर संसार चल नहीं सकता इसके आधार कर्तव्यपरायणता, निष्पक्षता तथा समदर्शिता है- अर्थात् मनुष्य दूसरों के साथ वह व्यवहार न करें जो वह अपने साथ नहीं करता। इसके अतिरिक्त संसार में श्रेष्ठजनों तथा सत्ताधारियों का धर्म के प्रति विशेष दायित्व है। शास्त्रों के अनुसार धर्म चतुष्पाद माना गया है; दया, तप, शीच तथा सत्य जो श्रेष्ठजन इनमें से एक को भी अपने जीवन का दृढ आधार नहीं बना पाता उसका इस लोक तथा परलोक दोनों में ही पतन होता है। क्योंकि कर्म फल तो भोगना ही पड़ेगा, धृतराष्ट्र ने भी भोगा था। कुरुक्षेत्र को धर्मक्षेत्र की संज्ञा देने से पाप का पलड़ा हल्का नहीं हुआ था। वास्तव में ब्रह्मवेता वेद व्यास ने कुक्षेत्र को धर्मक्षेत्र कहने का आधार धृतराष्ट्र की कथनी में नहीं अपितु पाण्डवों और श्रीकृष्ण की करनी में पाया था, जिन्होंने निरन्तर और सर्वदा धर्म का पालन किया और धर्म की रक्षा के लिये कुरुक्षेत्र में युद्ध करने से भी नहीं चौके धर्म की रक्षा और इसका पोषण केवल मात्र विशिष्ट ववनों से नहीं हो सकता और न ही पाखण्ड, निबलता और दुष्कर्म इसकी गरिमा को मिटा सकते हैं इसकी रक्षा और विकास के लिये निष्काम कर्म और बलिदान अनिवार्य है जो पाण्डवों ने कर दिखाया था । महाभारत इसी का साक्षी है और गीता इसका मन्त्र। गीता ज्ञान एक गहन रहस्य है। इसके अध्ययन से यह स्पष्ट है कि अर्जुन पहुंचाने एक ऐतिहासिक महाभारत योद्धा के अतिरिक्त ब्रह्म ज्ञान को संसार तक का माध्यम भी है। समस्त गीता में परोक्ष रूप से और अनेक श्लोकों में प्रत्यक्ष में वर्णित है कि वास्तविक कुरुक्षेत्र जो उचित रूप में धर्म क्षेत्र है वह यही मनुष्य शरीर है "इदं शरीरं कौन्तेय क्षेत्रमित्यमिधीयते" (गीता 13-1) अर्जुन को सम्बोधित करते हुए श्रीकृष्ण कहते हैं कि जो मनुष्य क्षेत्र (अपने शरीर) और इसमें अदृश्य आत्मा को उचित प्रकार से जानता है वहीं सच्चा ज्ञानी या योद्धा है। श्रीकृष्ण भगवान् गीता में बार बार कहते हैं कि आत्मा सर्वव्यापक है अर्थात् यह सब जीवों में है। यह आत्मा परम प्रभु परमब्रह्म का अमर अंश होने के कारण (गीता 15.7) समस्त जीवों में है और इसके बिना विश्व एवं समस्त प्राणी जगत की उत्पत्ति, स्थिति तथा पोषण सम्थव नहीं है यह आत्मा तत्व प्रलय में भी जीवों के कारण रूप में व्याप्त रहता है|। आश्चर्यजनक स्थिति वह है कि मनुष्य इस सर्वय्यापक आत्मा से अनभिज्न हैं अर्थात् मनुष्य अपने वास्तविक स्वरूप की नहीं जानता।क्योकि मीता कहती है कि मनुष्य शरीर नहीं आत्मा है। दूसरा पहलू यह भी है कि आत्मा का ज्ञान या ब्रह्म ज्ञान पाना अंतरिक्ष में पैदल सफर करने से भी बड़ी चुनौती हैं। इस चुनौती के कारण ही तो भगवान् कहते हैं कि वही सच्चा ज्ञानी है जो इस क्षेत्र (शरीर) और (आत्मा) श्षेत्रज्ञ का ज्ञान रखता है। यह जो हमारा देह रूपी कुरकषेत्र (कर्मक्षेत्र) है यही वास्तव में वर्म क्षेत्र हैं। इस युद्ध येत्र में दो युद्धाभिलाषी शत्रुदल लड़ते रहते हैं। ये सुर (प्रवृति) और आमुरी वृत्ति टल कहलाते हैं आसुरी दल का लक्ष्य और कार्य प्रणाली - मैं, मेरा, हम, हमारा अर्थात् केवल मात्र अपने पन का पुरुषार्थ हैं इसका प्रयास स्वार्थ की परिक्षि को पार नहीं करता। अत: यह असुर प्रवृत्ति मनुष्य को नाश की ओर ले जाती है सुर दल का ध्येय और कर्तव्य, सेवा, सहायता और बलिदान, है जो ौ की ओर ले जाता है। इन दोनों वृत्तियों का वर्णन भगवान् ने सोलहवें अध्याय में विस्तार पूर्वक किया है।

Lyfestyle आपने कभी सोचा है कि आजकल हमें समय की इतनी कमी क्यों महसूस होती है ? समय पर काम न करने या होने पर हम झल्ला जाते हैं, आगवबूला हो जाते हैं, चिढ़ जाते हैं, तनाव में आ जाते हैं। समय की कमी के चलते हम लगभग हर पल जल्दबाज़ी और हड़बड़ी में रहते हैं। इस चक्कर में हमारा ब्लड प्रेशर बढ़ जाता है, लोगों से हमारे संबंध ख़राब हो जाते हैं, हमारा मानसिक संतुलन गड़्वड़ा जाता है और कई बार तो दुर्घटनाएँ भी हो जाती हैं। समय की कमी हमारे जीवन का एक अप्रिय और अनिवार्य हिस्सा वन चुकी है।क्या आपने कभी यह बात सोची है : हमारे पूर्वजों को कभी टाइम मैनेजमेंट की ज़रूरत नहीं पड़ी, तो फिर हमें क्यों पड़ रही है? क्या हमारे पूर्वजों को दिन में 48 घंटे मिलते थे और हमें केवल 24 घंटे ही मिल रहे हैं ? आप भी जानते हैं और मैं भी जानता हूँ कि ऐसा नहीं है! हर पीढ़ी को एक दिन में 24 घंटे का समय ही मिला है। लेकिन बीसवीं सदी की शुरुआत से हमारे जीवन में समय कम यह समस्या दिनोदिन बढ़ती ही जा रही है। बड़ी अजीब बात है, क्योंकि बीसवीं सदी की शुरुआत से ही मनुष्य समय बचाने पड़ने लगा है और वाले नए-नए उपकरण बनाता जा रहा है। बीसवीं सदी से पहले कार नहीं थी, मोटर साइकल या स्कूटर भी नहीं थे, लेकिन हमारे पूर्वजों को कहीं पहुँचने की जल्दी भी नहीं थी। पहले मिक्सर, फ़ुड प्रोसेसर या माइक्रोवेव नहीं थे, लेकिन गृहिणियाँ सिल पर मसाला पीसने या चूल्हे पर खाना पकाने में किसी तरह की हड़बड़ी नहीं दिखाती थीं। पहले बिजली नहीं थी, लेकिन किसी को रात-रात भर जागकर काम करने की ज़रूरत भी नहीं थी। वास्तव में तब जीवन ज़्यादा सरल था, क्योंकि उस समय इंसान की ज़िंदगी घडी के हिसाब से नहीं चलती थी। औद्योगिक युग के बाद फ़ैक्ट्री, ऑफ़िस और नौकरी का जो दौर शुरू हुआ, उसने मनुष्य को घड़ी का गुलाम बनाकर रख दिया। पहले जीवन सरल था और अब जटिल हो चुका है। यही हमारी समस्या का मूल कारण है। पहले जीवन की रफ्तार धीमी थी, लेकिन अब तेज़ हो चुकी है। अब हमारे जीवन में इंटरनेट आ गया है, जो पलक झपकते ही हमें दुनिया से जोड़ देता है। अब हमारे जीवन में टी.वी. आ चुका है, जिसका बटन दबाते ही हम दुनिया की खबरें जान लेते हैं। अब हमारे पास कारें और हवाई जहाज़ हैं, जिनसे हम तेज़ी से कहीं भी पहुँच सकते हैं। अब हमारे पास थ्री-जी मोबाइल्स हैं, जिनसे हम दुनिया में कहीं भी, किसी से भी बात कर सकते हैं और उसे देख भी सकते हैं। आधुनिक आविष्कारों ने हमारे जीवन की गति बढ़ा दी है। शायद आधुनिक आविष्कार ही हमारे जीवन में समय की कमी का सबसे बड़ा कारण हैं। इनकी बदौलत हम दुनिया से तो जुड़ गए हैं, लेकिन शायद खुद से दूर हो गए हैं। यदि आप समय के सर्वश्रेष्ठ उपयोग को लेकर गंभीर हैं, तो इसका सबसे सीधा समाधान यह है : यदि आप किसी तरह आधुनिक आविष्कारों से मुक्ति पा लें और दोबारा पुराने ज़माने की जीवनशैली अपना लें, तो आपको काफ़ी सुविधा होगी। नहीं, नहीं... मैं यहाँ चूल्हे पर रोटी पकाने या मुंबई से दिल्ली तक पैदल जाने की बात नहीं कर रहा हूँ। मैं तो केवल यह कहना चाहता हूँ कि मोबाइल, टी.वी.., इंटरनेट, चैटिंग आदि समय बर्बाद करने वाले आविष्कारों का इस्तेमाल कम कर दें। पहले घड़ी हमारे जीवन पर हावी नहीं हुई थी और इसका सीधा सा कारण यह था कि ज्यादातर लोगों के पास घड़ी थी ही नहीं। पहले अलार्म घड़ी की कोई ज़रूरत नहीं थी; मु्गे की बॉग ही काफ़ी थी। तब 8:18 की लोकल पकड़ने का कोई तनाव नहीं रहता था। तब कोई काम सुबह नौ बजे हो या सवा नौ बजे, कोई ख़ास फ़र्क नहीं पड़ता था... लेकिन आज पड़ता है। तो इस पुस्तक को आगे पढ़ने से पहले यह बात अच्छी तरह से समझ लें कि डाइबिटीज़, हाई व्लड प्रेशर कोलेस्ट्रॉल और हृदय रोग की तरह ही समय की कमी भी एक आधुनिक समस्या है, जो आधुनिक जीवनशैली का परिणाम है। यदि आप इस समस्या को सुलझाना चाहते हैं, तो आपको अपनी जीवनशैली को बदलना होगा। याद रखें, दुनिया नहीं बदलेगी; बदलना तो आपको ही है। यदि आप अपनी जीवनशैली और सोच को बदल लेंगे, तो समय का समीकरण भी बदल जाएगा। जैसा अल्बर्ट आइंस्टाइन ने कहा था, 'हम जिन महत्वपूर्ण समस्याओं का सामना करते हैं, उन्हें सोच के उसी स्तर पर नहीं सुलझाया जा सकता, जिस पर हमने उन्हें उत्पन्न किया था। अब गेंद आपके पाले में है! अपनी सोच बदलें, जीवनशैली बदलें और समय का उचित प्रबंधन करके अपना जीवन बदल लें। इस संदर्भ में आधुनिक प्रबंधन के पितामह पीटर एफ़. ड्रकर की बात याद रखें, 'जब तक हम समय का प्रबंधन नहीं कर सकते, तब तक हम किसी भी चीज़ का प्रबंधन नहीं कर सकते।
