okay ik comparison is a thief and im not really comparing here when i can't help but draw a parallel between my two best (and only) favourite bands in the world.

queen to big bang (ik ik im so sorry but hear me out! cause big bang admittedly drew inspiration from them)

freddie to gd: flamboyant, gay, fabulous and iconic; no explanations needed from how impactful their presences were/are

brian to taeyang: both are crucial in keeping the bands together, very smart, pretty calm and are practically the stripping poles for their flamboyant counterpart freaky friends (brian literally for freddie while taeyang primarily metaphorically through ages for gd)

roger to daesung: the drumming and singing and sticking by their brian and taeyang - i mean like, c'mon, incredulously obvious. this whole thing is also prompted cause i recalled during made era dae mentioned queen being one of their influences and in made era, dae was performing while playing drum from half of the tour for sober which retrospectively makes me think that they may have been aiming to emulate queen with sober being kind of a rock and roll vibe song

deaky to top: quiet but also iconic in their own ways. deaky with that globally famous baseline in under pressure - some may ignorantly know it as that ice ice baby song /intense eye roll/; among others like another one bites the dust too!? . tabi with his own solos which are incredible. both are also notorious for leaving their bands behind and being in deep equations with their teams' member; deaky and freddie were close and when freddie passed, deaky left and never reappeared till date. tabi with /cough cough/ gd

last but not least, both queen and big bang are very well known for their experimental, genre defeating, transcending global hits (queen with we will rock you and we are the champions and big bang with fantastic baby and bang bang bang). each of their members are multi talented too and excelled/excel at symbiosis. most importantly their crowd control and live performances are generationally iconic.

and with this, i rest my case. anyone can agree to disagree but ik i have a type, therefore im not wrong hehe

a loyal friend who's there life and death

a hardworking team member who does everything with only the benefit of the whole team in mind

a respectful team player who knows when to speak his mind and let the leader pave the path

a protective family man who's good at providing his beloveds private life and seperating work from home

a gentleman who never once yelled at fans but simply requests them for privacy which they give and that shows just how effective simple communication can be (exhibit fxxk it bts)

a disciplined man who never gives up despite the hardship and continues his effort for the long term run

a determined person who sees things through (he could have just dropped an album but he did everything to participate and even solo tour at the age when its definitely fucking exhausting)

an inspiration for so many things (mentioned above) also for ageing not gracefully but youthfully like age; who?

a celebrity you'll never get disappointed to meet because youngbae reaches back as much as you reach out to him (i can write an essay about this but just know if you send him a letter, he reads it. if you give him a gift, he uses/wears it) - so fucking rewarding to be his fan. period.

humble king who never put himself on a pedestal and think he's too above to film tiktok with new celebs or collaborate with them or appear on their yt shows or even make friends and hang out with them

a forever grateful human being recognizing his blessings and being thankful and knows when an how to cherish them (the way he held onto daesung's hand post his concert because how many times daesung supported him through his tour... )

an endless provider; from songs, dances, quality ass contents to food and beverage when you see him in person (who else does it like him??)

Happy 37th Birthday Taeyang 🔆

Underrated fan service enthusiast. This is YB with fans. Nobody but fans. Whether you’re a girl, boy, 2 legged or 4 legged, he will love you. He will let you walk him out the airport and reach out to take your gifts or allow you to place them in his bag. He will discreetly stop for selcas if the situation allows it. Hugs? Yes. You don’t leave without going in for a hug because his hugs are the best kind. When it’s too crowded and he can’t stop for photos or signatures, he gets to the car, turns around and starts waving around and blowing kisses before the security or manager rushes him in. If you’re nearest to the car, expect some form of contact. If he’s in the car, he’s gonna wind down the window and shake your hand or sign somemore. Don’t worry about him not reading your letters, he does it the very next second he gets some time alone before checking in for his flight. He probably reads them in his free time else where too. Let’s not forget that he is also the guy that purposely takes one too many trips to the toilet, just so that the fans waiting around can get a good view/video while he waves or smiles at them. If he doesn’t wave, best believe he’s gonna look at you, make eye contact with you for awhile for no reason and walk off. He will look out for you, even if he’s in a crowd filled with the world’s most famous people.

You hardly ever turn away from a fan who calls out your name. A role model to look up to, teaching us how to be humble and living life like how we want to and not to match society’s expectations.
