coinciding with russetstar rowanclaw should have been the cat that lionblaze killed. it may not be as politically detrimental as killing the deputy but considering rowanclaw is jay/lion's adoptive father's brother-in-law it would be a ripe source of interpersonal tension following the reveal brambleclaw isn't actually their dad, and flametail and dawnpelt being especially resentful towards lionblaze over it (see: flametail's infamous "i'm glad i'm not related to a murderer" line) would make a lot more sense if it wasn't just merely another shadowclan cat but their father that he had killed (AND it would better set the scene for dawnpelt blaming jayfeather for flametail's subsequent death. she just lost her father and her brother in succession of one another of course she's having a breakdown of course she can't believe it's just a coincidence)
