As chronically ill people, we spend a lot of time asking ourselves, “What am I doing wrong to feel this badly?” 

The answer is nothing. You are doing nothing wrong. You are doing the best you possibly can to make yourself feel better. You don’t deserve the guilt you so often assign yourself.

Imagine if people applied the “outdoor cat” logic to dogs too. We’d have a bunch of dogs running outside freely, collecting parasites and diseases, getting hit by cars, harassing/killing any smaller animals and breeding like crazy. And when you told someone that they probably shouldn’t let their dog outside without a leash because it’s not exactly safe, they’d just be like “oh well you know he’s happier that way and all that stuff is just a normal part of a dog’s life lol what can ya do ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”.

It’s hard to keep the poems rigid shell On track inside my mind, so when I thought today about a villanelle

I thought about refrains re-rung like bells And how simple it might be to begin; I wrote this in a spreadsheet in Excel

The line below these two, I brag to tell Is simply coded as =A1 I thought today about a villanelle
