the upcoming update

How to update:

BACKUP your saves !

update the game so that you don't have your whole Mods folder in but move mods, tray and saves to a safe place and update.

clear caches, old last exception files and anything that does not belong in the game files.

once updated start the game vanilla with no mods, let the game generate new save, tray and mods folders.

In game make a vanilla sim , move them to vanilla lot , play a while and save the game and exit.

Do not put ANY MODS in your game until you are sure they are UPDATED!

Put your mods back in game and test them with that vanilla save.

Start with visual overhauls, lighting mods etc..

Add big mods like MCCC, UI cheats etc..

Then smaller mods and always make sure you have the udpated versions

Lastly add your defaults

then other cc and do not dump everything in there at once, but try to put them in smaller patches

and with every mod or folder of cc you add, test the gameplay with your vanilla household.

Once you are sure you have all mods working and udpated you want you can move back your Saves and Tray from the safe place you put them.

Do not go on and about harassing modders to fix their mods, this is a big udpate, updating lot of functions from the base game and other packs. Some mods might break a lot some less, so give modders time to fix their mods and don't be an ass about it.

This way you can update safely and you don't have to be worrying of the possible bugs the udpate gives (remember time moving in cas bug, instant getting older bug) and possibly corrupt your save file with a broken mod. You can spend few days with the vanilla save to make sure everything works as it should.

Bad Townies Outfit Fix

Manually or automated!

I have been playing the sims 4 and using MC command center (MCCC) for years now but I only recently learned MCCC  can be used to stop the invasion of the ugly townie outfits. For me this means no more time spending hours on making over townies because their ridiculous outfits break the immersion.

I will address three ways in which you can use MCCC to fix your townies, two are automated and together they fix all outfits, and one is manual. I explain how to use them in this post. All three of these methods use outfits saved by MCCC. Because saving these outfits is a lot of work, in the end, my document with saved outfits can be downloaded so you don’t have to go and save a bunch of outfits yourself! (No ad-link/SimFileShare). Because we all play in a different way, there are some different files to choose from. These outfits can be automatically used by MCCC if placed together in your mods folder. More is explained after the cut.

Note that these are not the only methods to fix ugly townies, you could also use files that disable ugly clothes for random, a mccc setting so townies will come from your library, etc. However, I won’t be addressing those methods here, because I like the method I will describe here the most. And this post is already super long :)

Sims 4 Greek God Challenge This challenge is based on Greek gods that have corresponding planetary bodies in the solar system. For this reason, there are 11 generations. There are no restrictions on genders and playing color themes are entirely optional. This challenge was designed to utilize multiple expansions and game packs. More Pride Flags

When this flag was originally added, they only gave us 19 swatches, which for me wasn’t enough, and a lot of the recolours I found for it were few and far between in quality and quantity.  So I’ve recoloured it and it now has 89 swatches, including the original swatches redone, with labeled thumbnails. The grommet textures can look a little crusty sometimes, especially when the flags are sized up but it’s far too late to fix that now so!
