This digital divide is a gap between individuals who have and don’t have access to physical, technological, and knowledge resources. Those who were said to be feeling the gap are referred to as “the left behind,” and it’s certainly unpleasant to hear. Unfortunately, these gaps that occur during pandemics are the most common problem in the Philippines, for which we have yet to find a solution. The gap that we felt was due to poverty and the inability of those with less privilege to afford the technology that we felt, were left behind. Students and workers who were required to use this new technology to ensure that this new normal functioned as planned were disproportionately affected. The gap that we felt wasn’t only physical but also mental, which means that those who lacked knowledge about this new technology are having difficulty adjusting their knowledge to cope with this new normal.
As can be seen, as technology progresses, the interaction between people and computers has expanded in the last two decades. The ability to use computers and the internet has become increasingly important in today’s culture. People still lack access to contemporary technologies and the internet, which is unfortunate. One of the barriers is the high cost; a big number of people are unable to utilize the internet because it is a paid service. Gadgets such as smartphones and computers are highly pricey. To assist with this, we can provide finance to assist low-income individuals in purchasing new technologies. Also, It’s critical to provide proper digital education to younger generations to raise good digital citizens and improve media literacy across all segments of the population, particularly vulnerable minorities. Furthermore, the wealth disparity between rich and poor is anticipated to diminish. Poor people, in particular, will find new ways to empower themselves.

“Understanding the Relevance of Information and News Literacy in the Midst of Social Era”
It is significant for us people to acquire new information from our environment but it is also crucial for us to know where the information came from. Being literate to news information is necessary in the contemporary age since misleading information is extensively disseminated throughout the world, not just in the country. Acquiring new information is effortless nowadays, especially now that we have social media, which gives a wide range of information. However, most of the information on social media is not reliable, hence, we must understand and examine the data source before disseminating the information because it’s our responsibility.
The correlation between information and news literacy is that we acquire information from any social media platform, but that doesn't guarantee it's from a credible source or is based on accurate information. News is information that we obtain that is accurate and may be disseminated to a wide range of individuals. Nowadays, amid the social era, we require people who are capable of determining if the news is based on fact or fiction. As a result, if we receive information, we should check its source and examine to see if it is factual, which is what we call news literacy.

“Media and Government: A Love-Hate Relationship”
The role that the Media and Government play is very crucial because it is where the society puts its trust. These two are the most powerful institutions of a country and they work together in order to do their own roles effectively. According to Balkin (1998), the roles of media are: first, mass media helps people understand the operations of government; second, mass media participates in political decisions; and thirdly, mass media holds government officials accountable. On the other hand, the government leads the country, oversees in solving the issues that the country faces, and has control over the public. Media helps the society know about the actions that the government is implementing. Government uses the mass media to actively engage with the public. If these two work hand-in-hand what would be the reason for its love-hate relationship?
The media and the government has the power to manipulate people and to change how people think on certain topics going around our world today. It has always been a common knowledge that the media is a watchdog of the government. Media checks on the government for possible corruption and/or wrongful or illegal acts. Due to the exposure of the media, filing of corruption charges and other illegal acts are made and many government officials are put behind bars for these cases. This creates a huge tension between the two. At the same time, many officials use the media to spread manipulated information in order to make themselves look good for the public. There would also be cases wherein the media reports are very biased. All of these would be very much confusing for the society, thus it is important for the government and the media to function honestly because society will be the most affected. As a citizen, it is also important for you to know credible sources and be media and information literature.
