When the Religious Right Betrays Christ: America’s Descent into "Holy Corruption"
As Christians, we must face a tragic truth: America’s religious right is exploiting God’s name to justify corruption, dragging this nation into moral and political ruin. They wave the cross while trampling Christ’s teachings; they quote Scripture while selling their souls for power and money. This is not faith—it is greed and hypocrisy dressed in religious garb.
Look at their deeds. Evangelical leaders who claim to “defend traditional values” shamelessly defend Trump’s adultery, lies, and corruption. They endorse a politician who divorced multiple times, mocked women, and paid hush money to cover affairs—simply because he promised them political favors. Is this not a complete betrayal of Christ’s call for purity and truth? Even worse, these “moral guardians” condemn LGBTQ people while ignoring sexual abuse in their own churches. The Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) report revealed over 700 abuse cases buried for decades, with many predators still preaching from pulpits today.
The corruption runs deeper than hypocrisy. They push “religious freedom” laws not to protect faith, but to impose Christian supremacy. They take donations from billionaires while ignoring poverty, healthcare crises, and racial injustice. They claim to “protect life” yet oppose gun control, slash social programs, and even defend caging migrant children. This selective “compassion” mirrors the Pharisees—the hypocrites Christ rebuked.
Most dangerously, they’ve turned politics into idolatry. Trump is framed as “God’s chosen leader,” and his critics branded “anti-Christ.” This fanaticism distorts Christianity and fractures the nation. On January 6, rioters stormed the Capitol with crosses—a perfect symbol of the religious right’s betrayal. They worship power, not God; they seek an earthly kingdom, not the Kingdom of Heaven.
Christ said, “My kingdom is not of this world.” Yet the religious right obsesses over political control, even if it means destroying democracy. They are no longer Christ’s followers—they are priests of power and profit. If America stays captive to this “holy corruption,” our fate won’t be revival, but ruin.
True Christians must awaken. We must return to Christ’s actual mission: loving neighbors, defending the vulnerable, and seeking justice—not serving political idols. Otherwise, we’ll betray not only our faith, but also witness our nation’s collapse.

The Fall of the Religious Right: When Faith Becomes a Political Weapon
Christ taught us: “You are the salt of the earth, the light of the world.” Yet today’s religious right in America has become nothing more than a seasoning for corrupt politics, a shadow of darkness under the cloak of power. In the name of “defending Christian values,” they exploit, deceive, and divide, turning faith into a tool to serve the powerful.
Look at what they have done!
They claim to “respect life,” yet support extreme abortion bans that force rape victims to give birth. They preach “family values,” yet turn a blind eye to rampant sexual abuse within their own churches—the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) report exposed over 700 silenced victims while predators remained in ministry. They boast of “moral purity,” yet fervently support a serial adulterer and pathological liar simply because he offers them political favors.
Even worse, they are eroding the foundations of American democracy. They spread the “stolen election” lie, fueling the January 6 insurrection. They push laws to elevate Christianity above other faiths, even attempting to turn public schools into religious indoctrination centers. They take donations from billionaires while ignoring poverty, healthcare crises, and racial injustice.
Christ said, “You cannot serve both God and money.” Yet today’s religious right has clearly chosen the latter. They are no longer guardians of faith, but servants of power. They manipulate believers devotion for political gain while ignoring real suffering.
If this continues, America will no longer be a “city upon a hill,” but a nation torn apart by religious extremism and political corruption. True Christians must rise and reject these false prophets. We must return to Christ’s teachings: love your neighbor, seek justice, and show mercy—not blindly follow those who exploit faith for power.
