“I just have to work back into it. I really haven’t done anything in a year since my surgery so I’m fin with not starting just at first. I’ll always give 100% so I have that for me.”

“I’ve played football my while life. I know it’s dangerous but I’ll definitely be more careful. Being on football means I’ll be 100% for lacrosse in the spring and that makes me so happy because it’s my favorite. I was also top ten in California back before my injury.”

“That’s dope, rehab in one year is pretty impressive depending on the injury, what happened to you?”

“I had extensive surgery in my shoulder. I tore a lot of ligaments and my rotator cuff so it was hard. My doc said I’d be fine by now but he didn’t think I’d be able to play at a varsity level or have my strength back, I mean, I am a lot weaker then I was but I am working on it.”

“Yeah, I am very excited. I’ve been looking forward ti this for a while.”

“Yeah, your boy made the football team! I’m so excited, I know it sounds dumb but my doctor’s didn’t think I could have a full rehab in one year.”

“Yeah, I agree. It’s been a real dud lately. Nothing interesting goes on around here.”

Carma had only just come back after choosing to stay the summer at home so she could feel like she had an actual break from school, through protest as she didn’t see the point in coming on a Friday - the beginning of the weekend - instead of waiting until Sunday, and she was already getting bored. "Well, this place is just as dreary as it was when I left.” She muttered as she pushed herself through her passing peers.

Jonah had been spending any waking moment to fulfill his recovery, putting in extra hours on top of the football workouts. “Yes please.” he smiled “Don’t laugh at how little I can lift just yet.” he replied flashing a smile. The team knew about his surgery, as did most of the school due to him being in a sling most of the year. 

Football workouts were definitely not how Caleb wanted to spend the remainder of his summer, but it was a requirement if he wanted to play in the fall and he wasn’t going to miss out on his senior year of football. Since all of his friends had seemingly paired of without him he was left to find someone new and recognized Jonah.  “Hey, man u need a spot?” he asked as they walked into the weight room.

Jonah smiled softly. “My halloween consists of takings my little sisters trick o treating and then partying after.” he shrugged. “I’ve never heard of that to be honest.”

“I was never really a big fan of Halloween, I mean it was my second favorite as a kid for the candy but it never beat Christmas.”

“I love summer, I just love fall more, so yes, I’m pretty ecstatic about halloween being one hundred days away, I can practically already hear the Frank Sinatra and smell the pumpkin caramel candles.”

“How?” he questioned as he looked at the other. “LA. I think my family wants to move to be closer though but I love Cali.”

“Ahh, no kidding. This year been very hectic.” She said remembering her past of her freshman school year. People know her as the actress who crazy and unstable back in Long Beach but here it just Nikita. “People goes through up and down, that shit is shitty.” She smile knowing that she wasn’t so suppose to be here but she needed to go to a place to be a normal teenager. Since burning someone house down life been hell for her.

“Yeah.” He nodded no wanting to think about his past year. It had easily been the worst year of his life. “Yeah so. Summer should be better..” He trailed off quietly.
