OHMIOHD DAYS 98-100 Movies 96-100
The Coen Brothers wow me again with how real they write their characters. Also the symbolism is enough to make me squeal with joy.
I love the Irish. This movie is nothing but feel good. Watch it and drink to it, it's a good time.
A zombie movie, yes, but also a heartwarming romance. I didn't realize that it was just Romeo and Juliet with Zombies until about halfway through though.
I'm a big fan of anime, especially stand alone feature films. You have to commit less time to them than you do a series and with movies like this one, you're rewarded.
I thought it would be fitting to end my 100 movie journey with a movie about 2 guys in a movie store who make movies based on other movies.

OHMIOHD Days 92- 97 Movies 84-95
The plot of this movie was very intriguing. The end was a little WTF?
Lol, religon. Jena Malone is still awesome in everything I've seen her in. Not the best movie in the world, but it's a good time killer.
I'm really curious how many indie movies I'm going to have watched by the end of this. I liked about half of this movie, then kind of lost interest in it but watched it anyways.
A good ole classic western. I love me some Robert Redford.
Interesting doc on beer. It confirmed that I have decent taste in beer too which was nice.
It's the darkest of dark comedies. It's also hilarious. If you don't like dark stuff though I can't emphasize how much you should avoid this movie.
Freddie Highmore ends up only being in one third of the movie and Helena Bonham Carter is only in about half of it. It ends up being nothing like what I was expecting. I wasn't really a fan.
A great thing happened on Labor Day. The above two movies were put back into theatres as a double feature. They were shown back to back in all their glory on the big screen. I loved both of them. More importantly I love that I got to see a double feature. I've seen one before, it's just that it's something that used to be a regular occurrence but is now a rarity in movie culture. I know it'll never happen but I wish that the double feature could be a regular thing again. It just makes the movie going experience so much more of an actual experience in my opinion.
I had no idea that this was a sequel. Either way, I don't think I would have liked the first one that much and I didn't really like this one. It's a semi serious semi comedic mish-mash that feels like it can't decide what it wants to be as opposed to a healthy blend of the two.
Super Surreal, super ridiculous and super enjoyable. It's such an original and unique concept that it had to be executed near perfectly for it to be well done. Spike Jonze did a great job. I also love John Malkovich even more now.
This movie is super cool. I love how it's part documentary and part fiction. It's also really impressive that they filmed the entire thing in 5 days. I also might just be a sucker for a cute love story.

OHMIOHD Days 84-91 Movies 75- 83
I absolutely love this cast. Sure most of them are the same as the case of Bridesmaids, but the writing was fantastic. It managed to pull off an overall realistic story with realistic problems and have a realistic ending that was also satisfying. That's something you don't see too often.
I love the setting of this movie. I wish there were more movies out there set in the UK during this time period. I always find it compelling and gruff manly dads from this period are always interesting to me. Don't ask me why.
With a pretty stellar cast and amazing premise, this movie made me want wine. That's primarily what it was about, if that wasn't clear.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are geniuses, in every way possible. Edgar Wright just brings it out in them. It was so dark, it was so funny, it left me wanting more yet wishing some of it never happened.
Jennifer Westfeldt is slowly becoming a new hero for me. Not only have I liked everything I've seen written by her, her character Abby in this movie is what I wish every human on this planet could be. Such a good movie with such a good premise.
Very well done. It takes a lot for me to respect something that's post-apocalyptic and not zombie related. It's a hard genre to capture, which is why you don't see it that often. Also much love for Viggo Mortensen.
Stupid comedy can sometimes be entertaining. It was like watching a really intricate and long SNL sketch. Not the worst thing in the world, but not the best.
George Clooney has always been a favorite of mine. He doesn't disappoint in this one either. The intricacy's the plot takes kept me watching until the very end.
One of the movies I had been meaning to see for quite some time. Jim Carrey gives a compelling performance for a topic that I feel is even more relevant today than when the movie was first released.

OHMIOHD Days 81-84 Movies 68-74
Just flat out avoid this one. It's bad on so many levels despite Jackie Chan's name being on it. He appeared for like 3 minutes and the rest of the movie was shit.
One of those movies that people can't believe I haven't seen. Well now I have. Well done Kevin Smith, well done.
Oh cult movies, you're so strange sometimes. Yet somehow, you just get me, or I get you... however that works.
Super fun, super pretty, obvious why Tribeca is right on the poster.
Another teen coming of age movie. Nothing really special about this one. Kind of nice to have a female lead though.
Oh NPH, I'll watch anything you're in. So good, such a good cast overall. It was a little "adult" at times but a hilarious movie none the less with such a good concept.
With a little more direction in the script this movie could have been great. I didn't like it until the end but the overall message and story is very real and ends up being bitter sweet.

OHMIOHD Days 76-80 Movies 63-67
I had heard good things about this one. The action lived up to the hype. The actual plot was a little strange, but by the end I enjoyed it.
Brilliant, in every sense of the word. I can't really describe it well enough. Just see it.
Rhys Darby is probably my favorite part of the Flight of the Conchords. He was equally charming and witty in this one. That and all the usage of Queen for a big Queen fan is appreciated.
Martin Freeman and Mandy Moore attracted me to this one. It lacked focus. At times it was a Zack and Miri make a porno but PG-13, then at times it was pure rom-com.
The entire time I was watching this one I thought it was just depressing. If you do decide to watch it make sure you see it through before you make any judgements.

OHMIOHD Days 70-75 Movies 55-62
Yay Jack Black. Also an incredibly creative movie. It's almost a really long dramatic re-enactment of a crime.
Cute movie, fun concept, culture shock is always hilarious.
I haven't laughed so hard in such a long time. Of course I'm probably stranger than most people. Don't watch this if you consider yourself 100% sane.
Compelling, touching and engaging. Spielberg shows why he's famous and that he is still the best of the best. This film was absolutely beautiful.
I was bored... Conan was cool and all but I yawned through most of the movie. I even fell asleep towards the end. It just wasn't worth seeing in the end.
Oh my god. I usually hate Tobey Maguire and he wasn't amazing in this, albeit better than usual. The female parts in this make the movie. That and the way they weave this tapestry of "Oh Fuck" and just lead you through this metaphorical car accident happening in slow motion will leave you in suspense wanting to see the main characters life just explode.
Naturally I'm a huge Firefly fan. Only makes sense right? This documentary was a nice telling of the story of the show and movie. Told primarily from a fan point of view. Only thing I thought it lacked was more footage from the actual show / movie / behind the scenes on set. I know that was probably impossible but it definitely would have added to it a bit and made it feel more final.
A good endearing indie movie. Michael Sheen also is one of my favorites so it's never a bad thing to see him.

OHMIOHD Days 66-69 Movies 49-54
A cute sequel to a cute movie. It’s a kids move through and through. The minions are some of the greatest things animated ever.
I’m a Dr. Who fan so I watched this naturally for David Tennant (who can never escape the role and had a couple space and time references). It was charming, a little less predictable than other rom-coms and the female lead was the chick who was Merida in Brave so that awesome accent is in here too.
Only Kevin Smith can make a charming and compelling love story revolving around porn. Super hilarious and super raunchy, but again, Kevin Smith.
It’s a shame that Christina Ricci was in this. She’s actually really talented. It was awful. Cute premise, but the worst execution.
Kat Dennings is soooo good. It also helps that she’s super attractive. It was a pretty interesting movie overall.
Superman. One of my least favorite super heroes. They handled the movie very well though. I attribute it to Nolan’s help with the script. Henry Cavill is also very good.

OHMIOHD Days 60-65 Movies 46-48
I enjoyed The Wolverine, however not as a movie. I enjoyed it as a message and a transition. The message being "sorry we f'ed up the Xmen" and the transition being from X3 the last stand to a brighter and better Xmen future in Days of Future Past.
I used to love the TV show Ed with Tom Cavanagh, and Sarah Chalke is great in Scrubs and How I Met Your Mother among other things so I figured "why not?". It's a sub par rom-com with a forced ending and unrealistic premise.
I love clever indie movies. Add superhero movies and it's even better. Not the highest budget movie, but it's heart and core messages make up for it.

OHMIOHD Days 48-59 Movies 43-45
So I forgot to actually put the movies in the last post.
I love me some Tom Cruise. He's already made several appearances in this challenge so I figured I'd continue the streak. Excellent script, I loved it.
This one was funny primarily for all the soccer references. Little kids soccer references to be precise. I feel like they  packed in a little too much "sex" so the movie would sell. Other than that it was quite charming.
Even though this movie is supposed to be about American MMA fighting (which I'm not a huge fan of) it turns out to be a highly character given masterpiece. It had me in tears for the last 25 minutes. It was that good.
See this movie.

I love me some Bill Murray. I also love me some Scarlett Johansson.
I'd been wanting to see this one for a while. glad I finally did.
In honor of a certain online sale going on right now I watched a documentary on indie video games. It was pretty well put together.
I'm so upset I hadn't seen this earlier. I now know why this movie swept so many of the Oscars. It was brilliant on so many levels. A True Masterpiece.

OHMIOHD Days 40-42 Movies 36-39
Another really good martial arts movie. Jackie Chan is of course what initially drew me to this one. I'm always impressed by how good movies like this are at character development compared to other action movies.
This was a really intense movie. Put me in the mood for thrillers, so expect some more of those coming. Liam Neeson is superb as always.
Not a bad movie, but not one you HAVE to see. It's a bit predictable, not all that funny and the premise is only slightly interesting until you figure out what's going to happen less than halfway through.
This had been the only Mission Impossible that I hadn't seen. I skipped it, saw Ghost Protocol which I absolutely loved, and never really looked back. This one did tie up some loose ends between 2 and 4. It helped fill my craving for thriller movies quite well.

OHMIOHD Days 36-39 Movies 32-35
Catchin up on the posts. (and no I didn't watch all of these in one day. I was just busy at work and stuff)
A really great political comedy. It has incredibly dark humor. You'll probably either love it or hate it. Makes a great commentary on life in general.
I had heard good things about this one. It was a lot of fun. The claymation was quite impressive. I forgot it was animated at times.
I love serious Will Ferrell. Whenever he's serious it proves how good of an actor he can really be. It was overall a very satisfying movie though some parts I feel ended unfairly, which I guess is the message it was trying to send, because even though I was a little upset about those parts, I got over it.
I love Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard. So happy to see them together in this. Overall a good mashup of comedy and some driving action.

OHMIOHD: Day 34 Movies 28-29
I've been watching, just not posting.

Really interesting story about Bruce Lee's mentor Ip Man.
Really well done fight scenes.
I originally thought this was based on the video game of the same name. It was an alright movie. Incredibly predictable though.

I looooved it. It's very weird. You get it or you don't.
I thought it was wonderful.
I disliked this movie quite a bit. Super predictable, stupid premise, poorly shot. not much good to say about it really...

OHMIOHD: Day 33 Movie 27
This musical is essentially a sing a long of good music. Alec Baldwin and Russel Brand are just added treats. Nothing amazing plot wise but that's totally not the point.
